Happenings: not much compared to the first two explosive stages. Sprinters got their bunch sprint finish and Bennett (Sam) showed his dominance once again. Surprisingly enough, Quintana is still in green. The only highlight of the day was UAE trying to bring Gaviria back to the peloton when he stuck on the final climb. It's not clear why it happened, due to injuries from day 1 or due to general fatness and bad form. Some microscopic changes in GC with Higuita gaining 3 seconds and Roglic gaining 1.

Will Cav ever retire?

I'm surprised there's somebody willing to hire him.

Told you guys Poels would not get his contract renewed, Kwiato dodged a bullet by having sign until 2020.

Of course he wants to detach from cycling he's a timer bomb ready to explode at any given moment.

why are there so many Colombian flags in la vuelta?

Colombians love cycling and you probably have a lot of expats from there in Spain

Finally we'll get to see Poels as a GC leader, with Landa working for him. Looking very forward to seeing how he does

Yes, there will be a rideable version at the next Eurobike.

That was extra info, they made some "major breakthroughs" in the shifting mechanisms.

why are the necklines for these TT suits so weird?

Also it looks like it uses completely unshielded bearings, those things will last for 100 km and then be useless because of dirt. And replacement ones will certainly be $500 + tip.

I'm betting that moving to shielded bearings would remove a good portion of the advantages. It's a scheme to get money from dentists like every single ceramicspeed product.

Gotta be super tight and having things really tight around your neck isn't comfy. Also people have different neck sizes which is why shirts are sold based on neck size. Having a low neckline means you can just make one model that fits everyone.

that was the scene that made me belive 100% in moto doping

Would he be allowed to wear that kit on a road training ride? Or would Viviani come and beat him up

You didn't see that shitshow by Froome on Ventoux? Most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in cycling. They got more careful after this clown shit and hoped people would forget it.

On second thought, that Giro 2018 thing was just as ridiculous. They know they can get away with whatever the fuck they want, those tablet checks after the finish are a joke of course. Their only downfall could be if someone talks... Looking at you Lord Chancellor Bradley.

yeah but every time he lifts a finger there’s like 5 cyclingnews articles about it. idk about Europe but for us anglos he’s pretty beloved, most casual fans know who he is. you complete sponsor obligations without even winning anything

Bike bros think alike.

he even retweeted this

fun fact - Aлмa-Aтa means apple elder

Yikes. He's trying a bit too hard to be likeable I think

Threadly reminder that Roglic will still win the Vuelta.

Only if he's training TT.

Nairo is going to win the best young rider classification.

Nope, looks like Roglic is destined to not win.

That helmet is at least 3 sizes too big and the chin strap is pretty much useless.

What's your usual avg speed for any distances greater than 50 km?

What bike do you ride and how long have you been riding more seriously?

I watch it during the Winter Olympics, it's comfy.
Always amazed how anyone can do it without being shit scared.

What's your max HR and FTHR?

HR is very individual and you can't really compare it with others without knowing their maximum and threshold HR.

RARE
You Spanish hardly post here.

Yeah I was working on the assumption that his 160 bpm was well below his max, given how he phrased it.

Attached: Capture.png (646x627, 624K)

welcome home jan

CCC has made some pretty good signings for next year. There's light in the tunnel for them, unlike Dimension Data and Katusha.

Katusha can manage to do achieve nothing no matter how many ressources they have. It's for the best if they don't have any good riders to waste.

can someone redpill me on SRAM? recently bought a cx bike with sram. is it campy tier memery?

>campy tier memery
Campy actually works though. Their mechanical stuff is the benchmark for shifting quality.

SRAM can't design a front derailleur to save their life. Double tap is retarded and etap has its own problems.

youtu.be/Tsk3zAZyLaQ

lmao that’s good I don’t have a front derailleur. also campy worked like 20 years ago but there’s essentially no excuse for not buying shimano now. campy, look, time just profit off their names.

EF crashing this race

EF - Easy Failure

Shimano has retarded brake levers that move in multiple axis on their mechanical groupsets. Also campy was the first to 10, 11, and 12 speed cassettes on the road. They're not even trying to be a massive name on the OEM market but their stuff works really well.

sprinters about to be btfo? quintana attack imminent?

based quick step memery

They really don't have any faith in Jakobsen, do they.

How can you get dropped as a goddamn dutchman in the crosswinds kek

SOME SAID QUINTANA ATTACK?

cabeza de carrera gonna take it

he's about to defend his green jersey

Lol at those dumbasses going the long way.

jakobsen is trash

btw did you se bennet btfo ing the guy in orange

>Jacobsen
how embarrassing

Imagine being this wrong.

inb4 jakobsen gets DQd

Is Walscheid simply too large to be a succesful sprinter?

Looks like jakobsen barely won.

yes that was pretty strong he also bullied the german 10 seconds afterwards

He doesn't even believe it.

looks like bennet is clearly the strongest, just lacked any support today

he needed to get back in position after taking the long way

Shit he has enough points to steal the green, it was fun while it lasted.

Tomorrow is gonna be fun.

>ib4 it does not meet expectations, on the contrary...

Attached: sweatyballs.jpg (300x300, 31K)

Jakobsen should get dqed

State of sam shitnet

Bennet after the train would be unbeatable

Reminder Jakobsen is only 22. He will dominate.

Aaaah why is velogames so slow even in easy stages, we probably have to wait 6 hours in every mountain stage

Finally the Sprint stages are over and the Vuelta can start

Dont worry they just moved the anti climactic sprints to the end this year

>The dilapidated shantytown of Ireland

And Bennett and Gaviria are already half dead, they may not even get there lmao.

Based Spaniards making the fatties climb

Inb4 Szymon Sajnok stagewin in Madrid

Lost the lead, sad. I think I am the only one without Roglic so I might get completely btfo later.

Damn, summer is nearing its end, the days are getting shorter and shorter. Sun is setting around 8 PM now.
I definitely enjoy riding evening way more than noon to afternoon. Feels more awake and I sweat less.

Guess noob gains are over, definitely, did a 40 km ride, a new modified route, 260 m total elevation, with a nasty steep hill of 13% gradient at some parts, only managed 29 km/h avg.

Now after a shower, I am gonna eat some fish sticks and sweet potatoes out of the oven.

>QSWL

Fucking Kruijswijk wasting a spot on Roglic's team, fuck you Kruijswijk

Crashwijk and Chokelic are sons of Joembo system

I like how the the stages are mixed together in this Vuelta.

It's rather annoying in the Tour that you have to wait at least 1 week to see a mountain like stage and only starting in the 2nd week will give the audience a few mountain stages.
I thought this year's Tour definitely lack the epic mountain finishes, weather did not help either.

Seems like Astana has a transformation season to make the team younger
Aranburu and Oscar Rodriguez (2nd Vuelta Burgos) from Euskadi rumoured as next transfers
cyclismactu.net/news-transfert-l-espagnol-alex-aranburu-chez-astana-en-2020-socialnetwork-85990.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Also Delko Marsaille and Nippo Fantini merge

Good for Aranburu and Rodriguez moving onto the WT

Hmmm... What do we think is going on here bros?

Bennett wants to leave bora

Tbh early July sporza was already reporting Bennett was gonna sign for DQS. Makes sense to me tbg, Viviani's gone and Ackermann > Bennett

I think Bennett is hoping he can attract a bigger offer from another team, Quick Step doesn't pay as much as UAE or Ineos or Bahrain etc.
