Generally it's only possible if you >change the youth rating in the editor to a higher level because it's not dynamic in FM >if you somehow just make a team that has one of the best players in the world you can start signing up young players and also manage the nation and give them a call up when they're available
Nolan Bennett
You can only really make small time European countries with naturalization laws be good in international football because of the money from the CL and the highest level of reputation. I did it with Malta by making the Malta national team be Brazil B and France B and they made a world cup final before losing to Argentina.

fuck's sake 2012 was great fun desu, may have a bash on that or 2011 again be nice if 05 or 07 ran on W10
Charles Carter
05 barely ran in the first place. Plus I made it work on windows 7 a few years ago and it was pretty horrible. Don't get me wrong it was great at the time but pretty much anything from 08 onwards shits on it, even the bad ones.

Genk was a pretty fucking good team in a my save for a few seasons. I remember barely beating them in the CL semifinal one time. Bought based Chakvetadze after that game, he's one of my main players right now.
What should I do with this feller, how should I train him? I don't think he'll amount to much but he seems like a great meme sub in a few years, or will his twofootedness and multiple positions eat all of his CA up?
His two footedness will eat his PA up. His Acc+Pace combo are garbage, I'd start there. CM(S), DLP(S) or any similar role for technically able player that can't shine anywhere else.
Jordan Brown
Lol
Jack Parker
Does player height have any weighting on PA/CA? I've noticed that jumping reach/aerial ability increases with overall height growth, but other than that is there a cost? Sure you'd want the tallest players possible, but when you're a two metre Peter like the guy above does it negatively impact?
Brayden Green
Height doesn't matter, Jumping Reach/Aerial Reach do. In theory a taller player shouldn't have to jump, but you know the wonders of FM's ME and how SI never explains this stuff except when they absolutely have to.
So no, height doesn't have any weighting on CA/PA. However height influences JR.
Playing my Salzburg game and I'm 3rd in my Champions League Group. I cannot get 2nd unless I beat Barcelona (basically impossible) and Donesk. I can get 2nd if Barcelona draw with me and then draw/lose the next game and I win against Donesk. But I'm thinking; is it worth me going through to the KO stages versus potential winning EL in terms of rep gain? Or is getting KO stages better for rep gain?
Jason Ward
Assuming you can actually make it that far I think you'd get more coefficient through a deep EL run than crashing out in the round of 16 in the CL.
Much less money though.
Jose Edwards
Thanks. I mean, it is just an assumption I'd do better in the EL. We'll see. I lost 1-0 to Barcelona earlier, drew twice with Inter and beat Donesk once. So Barcelona and Donesk to go.

Got a friend from FM research team, here to post some small leaks to make up for the lackluster anouncement video
>New job titles for your staff - Technical Director (recruits/signs new staff, takes care of their courses) Head of Player Development (informs you on your player's attribute changes, suggests loan moves, gives you raports on your loaned players)
>New formation for staff to use - 343DM Narrow
>"Hugs Lines" trait got split into "Hugs both lines/left line/right line"
>New traits - "Tendency to sign players under 24 for the first team" and „Tendency to sign players under 22 for the first team”
>New staff attributes - "Judging" and "Negotiating"
>New player info field - "Date Signed First Full-Time Club Contract "
shit leaks but leaks regardless
Carter Diaz
>Technical Director Almost the same as assigning someone to report on your staff, which is already possible. >Head of Player Development Literally another AssMan. >New staff attributes AIs don't negotiate, and Judging what? Staff CA/PA? When their attributes already are visible?
Thank your friend for the leaks anyway. It's not his fault.
Negotiating as in how good the staffman is in transfer/contract negotiations. In range of 1-20 Judging's full given name in the file is simply "New non-player attribute - Judging NP (non-player) staff" - my guess is that it ties to the Technical Director role and defines how good is he at picking the right staff for the club.
These two are probably the most interesting, seems like we're getting some more faulty AI managers - over-spending on transfers, bad team construction, etc.
Julian Ramirez
>defines how good is he at picking the right staff for the club It's likely not for the player, it's for the AI. Gotta be brain dead retarded not to be able to pick the right staff considering there isn't much choice and relevant attributes already are highlighted.
miles miles what do you mean ex- this guy still has a contract until the end of next season and he's my current captain (also the Kujawa mentioned in the interview is the only person in my current save that hates me, after I refused to give him a new contract after he became shit and started ruining my atmosphere - he retired because nobody else wanted him lmao)
That's probably because they know Stadia specs and dont't have to worry about making the game available even for "will it run??/?" mongoloids with 15 year old laptops.
But Stadia with it's "many leagues" and "faster processing" will mean shit if you can't run mods on it, since you're logging in to a new machine every time (like they would even let you have a 10 GB sortitoutsi facepack stored in cloud) + plus the general stance on "mods" from any gaming platform other than PC. Have fun playing vanilla FM with fake club and competition names, no German/Japan NT team, no logopacks or facepacks and no additional leagues you'd utilize the "better processing" on. Truly a pleb experience with additional subscription fee, yum.

Grayson Carter
Absolutely. It's worthless without the community. Just look at what happened to the editor scene when SI fucked up the pre-game Editor early after release: it fucking died and remained dead for most of the year. Nevermind that the Editor is a sullen piece of shit anyway.
Eli Bailey
what happened to the editor scene? I must have missed that, but it would explain so much
Luis Price
btw let's start taking guesses at what controversial "feature", in the fashion of cancelled Qatar WC, gay coming outs and random Brexit will SI Games use now to create buzz around their game? My bet is on LGBT pride months when your captain is wearing the rainbow armband. It happened irl in Germany so Miles already has the hard facts prepared.
Luke Anderson
Short version: SI wanted to implement a new standard and they fucked up.
Longer version: SI wanted to implement a new file format for Editor file. It broke two things: loading .fmf files from previous version and file compression. You could still load .xml if you opened your .fmf in the yesteryear version of the Editor, exported to .xml then import it in the current version of the Editor as a .xml, which is about as tedious as it sounds. However, removing file compression also meant that it took AGES to start FM.
SI eventually fixed that, but Claassen, who is well known for very expansive worldwide dbs just threw the towel as it meant he would have to redo everything from scratch instead of updating his old files. He still did all of Europe but disappeared after that. The rest of the world has seen some db projects, some of which abandoned, others unfinished.
Hopefully they let us stone gay players while managing in the middle east
Wyatt Morris
>3D rendered press conferences with complete storming out animation >agents now negotiate player image rights every 6 months >players refuse to play away matches in a certain country >more off field happenings which ruin det or bravery irrevocably to simulate irl
Nicholas Parker
>3D rendered press conferences with complete storming out animation Sounds like something EA would do 2bh.
Carter Sullivan
Thank you, this explains a lot. Claassen said that the next year he will do the whole world again, because as of now he has a kid and can't be arsed with this bs. Would be sweet - this year I had to look for so many files from different creators to fill the whole world, claassens at least are consistent, based on real rules and with minimal clashes (and more - I loved what he did with french cup qualifications). I hope he delivers...
In general, FM tries to sabotage its own editor. They could literally sell a game yearly with their half-assed features if they packaged it with a powerful editor that is easily convertable for newer versions. And they could literally do nothing while sitting behind licensing excuses while the modders do the heavy lifting. But stuff like league rules, club-specific rules like Athletic's "Basque only", an actual way to add new countries without replacing other ones, some goddamn tagging system so custom players and clubs don't get reshuffled IDs while loading two files that add something, thus preventing some crash scenarios. This all is so infuriating.
Camden Jackson
Was 8 points ahead of Inter at one point and then the lads refused to play like professionals. >can dismantle Barcelona over two games and never let them get close to the goal but can't beat Latina at home
Or y'know, implementing shit that actually works. They give you a way to make new international competitions, but the moment you do it everything crashes. Or there's a "tool" to make new continental cups, but then you have to forfeit European coefficient ratings. I wanted to make Yugoslavia, but I have to redo all Intl competitions because the Euro doesn't work, which crashes the WCs, which crashes the Confederations Cup, which crashes everything else. You can't just modify current rule sets: you have to redo everything because SI hard-coded that shit (and that's when they didn't encrypt it), and you can't reproduce it yourself with the Editor because the Editor straight doesn't support it when they don't try to lock the functionality for no good reason. Like say, having coefficient locked: no fucking point.
It's half-assed all the fucking time: it's there but you can't actually do anything useful.
Hunter Flores
But you can unlock England Level 10 with a few clicks so the editor is A-OK for SI.
Aaron Thomas
And it doesn't even make sense because the Reputation system doesn't scale that low. There's essentially no difference between teams and players when you start going below the 10th English level. Or at the very least it becomes very samey, where one point in Acceleration or Det can make or break a player. AKA everything is shit and it's eye gouging football even by FM's lowly standards.
Dominic King
>17 mil
Really want a striker, should I? Almost got relegated in my first season in the PL because we couldn't take our chances
>First time shots >Coupled with average mentals For what fucking purpose? Do you really want a player who will just hoof it all the time? Only would consider as a last resort if you really need a player that performs right now and not in a few years.
Josiah Campbell
ok i'll cancel the transfer
i'm dumb
Bentley Perez
It's not that you can't fix it with Tutoring/Mentoring and praying that he forgets the PPM, it's that it's not the player you're looking for. He'd be a good buy otherwise, but you probably cannot afford another half season of waiting for him to stop being a retard.
Andrew Gonzalez
true, i might go back in for him if I can't find anyone better
i have 70 mil to spend and i need to sure up defence and midfield
Ayden Young
Would converting this 21 year old into a deep lying striker work?
Kinda no point, he's not really quick off the blocks. He's a playmaker who needs to work on his technique. >Shoots with power Literally no point, he's not a striker.
David Green
ok i'll keep searching thanks man
Gavin Barnes
>tfw your 17 year old hot prospect gets addicted to fortnite and his 20 determination turns into 5
The absolute state of my existence. I can dismantle Europe's top clubs but get smashed by Latina and other bottom-half Italian clubs. Luckily Genoa just beat Inter 5-0 so I still have a chance of winning the league.
I do research and the only meaningful change I've seen this year is all English clubs getting downgraded relative to continental ones. Outside the top 2/4 in the PL every team is dropping 5 points or so in CA16 (avg. CA of their best 16 players).
Isaac Howard
Yes, finally! English football was a bit overrated, it was especially obvious if you were f.e. check on sortitoutsi database how the PL players were judged before and after being transferred to PL - many have quite sharp jumps in skills, probably in order to get them up to the level of other players. But that shouldn't be the case. Also, similiar things were happening with english youngsters - they were too good due to this oversaturation and once you got them out of PL they dominated in foreign leagues while such success outside of England is much more rare irl. This is great, thanks for posting.
Austin Williams
Is it cheating if I savescum for results that don't involve my team (that is, so I can make sure a team I don't like doesn't win or so my U19 can win their national playoffs)? Doesn't feel like it since I don't control those, and oftentimes they feel like dice rolls
Austin Kelly
who cares, it's your game, play it however you want to play it
Dominic Diaz
Yes.

The only time reloading is acceptable is if you lose progress as the result of a crashdump or bluescreen or what have you (which is why the proper way to play is with a weekly rolling autosaves). And then you only reload to recreate the results you lost.
Ended up winning 42-0. I've never even won a match worse than 12-0 in all my saves. Never, have I had a game like that.
Jose Carter

You can't win 43-0 without cheating unless you're playing a team from the 2nd tier of Bhutan.
Evan Nguyen
That's a goal every ~2 match minutes. The engine is sometimes wonky but it can't be THAT bad. Unless you are using some bullshit exploit, which FM is this?
Isaac Bailey
FM12. Not even going to win my group, and I finished 4th in the prem last year.

Btw I got a friend whose cousin works in London fo SI and afaik they are revamping youth development and contracts among other things
Luis Long
Oh, that's good news, I was afraid they were all about this social media crap but youth development revamp is always welcomed. Contract revamps would line up with the "Negotiating" stats
Ryan Rodriguez
So we are agreeing that the American was cheating and as a result subsequently ignoring all of their posts?
Elijah Thompson
ye, not even a screenshot, just some kid bsing on the internet and playing on some kind of exploit
Lincoln Flores
There is literally nothing wrong with reloading a match where you've been robbed
Parker Fisher
I hear you, there are but two days I care about, opening of the summer window and intake day. Everything else is inconsequential
Jeremiah Evans
clench doesn't help that I'm playing 4th (whom I've never beat in this save, 1p in 5 games) and Lechia is playing 3rd
not wrong if robbed = game crashed when winning and you can't replicate the result
total opposite here, I loathe transfer windows because I play Wenger-style with poaching good youngsters all the time and begrudgingly patching holes from transfers outward (and possibly because I still don't have a good hang on FM18 scouting), youth intakes are shit because I most players I get are rubbish despite good facilities Vastly prefer playing actual games
Andrew Perry
>beat Dortmund 2-1 in CL semifinal >get 3 long term injuries in the match
>find a decent backup/rotation option on an amateur contract >hasn't ever played professional football >still demands over €5K per week And it keeps happening too. Who do they think they are?
Why's it so impossible to get a team playing good tiki-taka football lads? If I switch to gegenpress I start winning every game easily, so I know it's not the players. Even bought players who suit tiki-taka, but they just play like shit
Asher Davis
F
Which game? Every FM has different OP tactics, gegenpress is one for 19 - consequentially, there will be stuff that is troublesome, like tiki-taka or parking the bus
Robert Torres
Yeah, 19. Just bored of going with gegenpress on all my saves desu, want to try a cheeky tiki-taka with a false 9, but they play like shit. Don't even dominate possession, which is pretty much the whole point
David Sullivan
>Why's it so impossible to get a team playing good tiki-taka football lads?
post tictacs
Owen Taylor
gegenpress is too OP. It sucks.
Aaron Thompson
man,i've never won an international competition before. last goal for this save is the champions league now but i won't do that with leipzig.
Hopefully they're still just getting used to the new roles. Luis Alberto in particular isn't yet a false 9, but he has the right attributes for it so I'm re-training him
i'd drop mentality down to standard or even cautious. even though you lowered the tempo and passing directness, players' individual mentalities will still be quite high on control (especially attack duties). that means they'll still be looking to be more risky in advanced areas, rather than keeping the ball first and foremost.
also, if you want proper tiki taka, you should go all in. firstly, make sure you actually have capable players (your club's dna should be passing, composure, first touch, meaning ALL players should have those attributes) and secondly, train ppms. will take a while before all players have the desired ppms, but that's the proper way of doing it.
>20 y/o portuguese striker scores in CL final >21 y/o brazilian amc I bought for 14m during winter scores the winning goal, a free kick in extra time >Rebollo MOTM >Finally beat Bayern on this save Feels good man
A's concentration is worrying and would need to be improved. B on the other hand has the benefit of superior corners so could be a great playmaker from set pieces. Plus he's a flairy bastard.
A excels in every other aspect though -- crossing and passing in particular.
Why not buy both?
