VAR

You realise they do this shit on purpose, right?

Intentionally bad calls and willing "mistakes", all just to keep the controversy and therefore the publicity going. They just want you fags to continue talking about VAR and the league, so they manufacture all this bullshit drama to keep doing so.

It's been literally 2 weeks of VAR in EPL and there's already been some "major" controversies. It takes stupidly long for no reason too. Meanwhile the other top 5 European Leagues have had VAR for over a Season and haven't had this many issues, and even the disruption to the game isn't that long. It's pretty evident it's intentional from EPL

please look at my thread i did a lot of research and had multiple drafts to make sure it was good

Yes the most popular league (by far) in the world really needs that extra negative publicity to keep it going

Brits love rules as much as germans but the only thing they love more is moaning about them. There was no way it was going to be introduced without controversy because we love to complain

>because we love to complain
That's what literally every somewhat civilised society says about itself. Only places it doesn't apply to are probably "party hard before you die and nobody cares" shitholes like Honduras or "complain and your family's off to the gulag" dictatorships like Best Korea.

>You realise they do this shit on purpose, right?
Yes. English refs are fucking divas thriving off attention, FA should fire those incompetent faggots and import refs from other countries.

it's controversial because the majority of match-going fans don't want it
it's been forced on us and it's ruining our sport

You think they don't want more publicity? How do you think they got in the spot of most popular league? Don't be a brainlet, you never stop promoting your product for a reason

Lucrative tv deals and coverage being in the global lingua franca?
Certainly not through big bazza and kev tweeting about VAR

Every little helps, you keep the league in the media any way you can.

The implementation is far shittier than the idea. There's no excuse for them to take this long, we see it in other leagues and it's nowhere near this bad. In concept it's a good idea, in practice they're full retard

this. they're shameless desu. 10mins into each game and the commentators are talking about the popularity of the league and why some random off-target shot proves it's the most attacking or something

>Meanwhile the other top 5 European Leagues have had VAR for over a Season and haven't had this many issues
LMAO. The bundes has had MAJOR issues with it, because 99% of people involved in football are absolute brainlets, who lack the ability of logical thinking. It somewhat settled during the WC, because VAR was actually good there. The only thing that kept VAR alive here was statistics proving it right. Brainlets still argue against it, because muh feels.
I get what you are thinking, but the controversies to fill the news get forced no matter what anyway. If nothing happens they just make shit up all the time, see transfers for example. A new technology is just an easy target. Also the discussion is somehwat helpful, because it forces the brainlet refs and officials to get their shit together. VAR and the rules in general improved a lot here and up to the WC. The problem is actual refball, or personal hate for certain clubs. One of the two caused the controversy that dominated bundes news this weekend.

laliga has Seria A have little issue

var is bullshit

I was in favour of it desu but its clearly not fucking working after today, City and Spurs both should of had pens.

>The English media is being rhetorical and drumming up controversy over minor things
This is very abnormal

>Honduras
>parties

Negative publicity is still publicity. OP is right, it is just entertainment and they have to manufacture shit to keep you coming back

should have*

there's literally no excuse for some of the blatantly shit calls
It's been TWO (2) weeks. That's barely anything, and they've already had major flops and incomprehensibly stupid calls. The refs aren't this thick
