I was at Pocono this year and it was more obvious than ever The start, along with every restart, was a debacle.
Dixon laid back and did a run up on the car in front of him every restart to pass them on the outside of T3. Sometimes he cleared the car in front of him before they even got out of the turn. The rules allow you to pass on the outside prior to the S/F but I'm pretty sure you're not allowed lay off for a better run

F3, GP3, and F2 are all (more or less in the case of F3 back then) spec series. Also it turns out I overlooked 2 wins and another podium as a guest driver in British F3 although that was a mega shanty series won by some chinc where I've literally never heard of any of the drivers except Ed Jones sweeping all 3 races as a guest driver the previous event.

Well, like in NASCAR the current Indycar package gives everybody issues with trying to pass other cars. So, since the race is continuous and the yellows only come out when something legitimately causes them (Crash, Debris, Fluids on track etc. etc.), the teams generally try to out-do each other and focus on getting track position.
I fucking hate it too, but there aren't any ovals that are willing to play ball and host an event that early in the year.
