Qualifying was rained out so the starting grid will be determined by championship points
>Championship top 10 1. Josef Newgarden 2. Alexander Rossi -16 3. Simon Pagenaud -47 4. Scott Dixon -62 5. Will Power -148 6. Ryan Hunter-Reay -171 7. Takuma Sato -182 8. Graham Rahal -192 9. Felix Rosenqvist -208 10. James Hinchcliffe -217
Yeah I don't care if they don't come back here. Not worth it
Nathan Harris
They are all alive, good shit.
Hudson Nelson
>Sato kamikaze-s Rossi Based desu
Jacob Jenkins
>helping the championship >wrecking the only guy keeping it competitive
Ayden Flores
>Kids Drive NASCAR
Ryder Howard
BANZAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jason Murphy
Fucking love cars getting tore up at Pocono. Only the strong survive.
Jason Gomez
fuark
Christian Hernandez
I am a fan of Sato, but that was too ballsy
Grayson Butler
by that very logic they must eliminate the threat to life limb and property that is Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Logan Fisher
It's not the track it's the aggressiveness of the drivers. You can have similar level of accidents at Texas and Indy, and they aren't going to stop going there anytime soon
Landon Wright
>you're cle- >ooh
Gavin Hall
not sure how much was on sato and how much was dirty air, anyway if they never come back it's good riddance
Ethan Wright
fucking sato, red flag
Aaron Johnson
was that a Trump Superman helmet for Ferrucci?
Matthew Reyes
every year this happens here. can't remember something like this. not even IMS is like this anymore.
not even texas has this many problems they it's a mile and a half, for some reason indycar has always had problems here
Lincoln Gutierrez
Sato WTF
Evan Robinson
I think they should keep Pocono in the schedule, but put a race 1 week before it so that everybody is not too rusty when they get here.
Camden Wood
IMS is the biggest race in the world in front of hundreds of thousands of people and winning it changes your life. Pocono is in front of nobody and means nothing. Love the concept of the track and wish the cars were a good fit for it but come on
Jacob Barnes
what exactly makes Pocono so dangerous? Indy races on multiple ovals throughout the year but it's always Pocono that is the most dangerous one
Well Sato is definitely turning back the clock because we’re getting younger/2012 Sato again recently
Mason Morgan
>but put a race 1 week before it so that everybody is not too rusty when they get here. not a bad idea actually, swap dates with gateway and problem solved
Alexander White
Track is too wide.
Connor Cook
It's going to be richmond
Ethan Stewart
turn 1 promotes side by side shit into turn 2 which is a single file turn. combine that design with the green flag procedure which has them bunched up and people in the back going faster than those in the front, well...
Ayden Lewis
it wasn't the tracks fault, it was Sato being a retard
Jaxon Morales
Fucking hell
Austin Hill
Rossi is seething
William Jenkins
Rossi throwing serious shade at sato
Ian Butler
figure ill watch the Indy race since Bristol was last night. never watch much Indy, 1 lap in and you got guys flying into the fence. this is pretty wild, you Indy bros seem alright. who do we root for /indy/?
Newgarden is going to win the championship unless Simon get shim.
Jayden Clark
fucking NBC. I couldn't hear Rossi over the sound of the replay. Turn down the replay volume, you fucks.
Daniel Miller
Ban assault Satos
Jeremiah Taylor
2hrs to fix the fence
Robert Martin
why doesn't indycar go to daytona? seems like a good combination
Lincoln Roberts
overall we all like pagenaud
Chase Green
Huge fan of Sato, but that was stupid. He should've known better considering he is a veteran
Aiden Adams
Over under 12 cars finish the race?
Xavier James
Pagenaud is good guy, also Sato is fun to root for because he is a total wildcard. Herta is cool too.
Leo Hall
huge waste of time and money
Alexander Cruz
Sato commiting sudoku today
Jaxon Murphy
12.5*
Gabriel Moore
>NASCARs need restrictor plates and a massive horsepower decrease just to run Daytona safety
But they did test the motorcycle circuit years ago for IRL but as much as I wish it would happen I don’t think there’s anyway to make it safe enough for approval
It's a shame that so many good, competitive cars got taken out. Hopefully this doesn't fuck up the rest of the race
Angel Stewart
I think it's funny that a Japanese driver causes such a crash when they're usually mocked for leaving too much room and not being aggressive enough. Has Sato finally embraced 'murican culture?
Parker Wilson
Sato was the one who wanted to go three wide into turn 2 just now? if so hes definitely a wildcard or insane
Kayden Garcia
>zip-tying up a piece of chain-link fence again Sebastian Bourdais is screaming somewhere, i think i can hear it lads
Lucas Sanchez
>Hinch almost decapitated
Christian Ross
this aero package for ovals these past 2 years sucks balls. It's the same thing that afflicts NASCAR, you can't pass once the field sorts out single file due to this undercarriage downforce design. So, you have to act like a stupid fuck on restarts to have a hope of gaining positions. NASCAR's solution: reduce horsepower and add spoiler lol Indy's solution: Eliminate ovals from the schedule lol
Colton Price
Sato has been a kamikaze madman for his entire F1 and IndyCar career where have you been
Wyatt Sanchez
kek he definitely is
Ryan Roberts
Sato has been insane since literally day one Believe it or not he's actually been significantly more mellow this year than in years past
>low degree banking >high speed corner entry >challenging to set up for im unsure about indy but nascar >brake usage is heavy increasing the chance to have brake failure
Tyler Torres
Ya seething?
Charles Bennett
It'll spice up the race a bit at least
Dominic Sanders
No, he thought he was clear.
Nathan Barnes
lmao wtf is that pathetic spotter stand
Christian Taylor
How many races does Sato get suspended?
Brandon Lee
Why is there some much boomers reparing the fence?
Nathan Parker
"there's a lot of balls" - PT
Brayden Evans
I've been to Pocono irl for Nascar
It's such a shitty track. Concessions and vendors are literally just street food vendor shit,, seating is some of the most ghetto shit ever. There is absolutely nothing to do there besides watch the race. Also the location in Pennsylvania means you will rarely ever get co-operating weather.
It has to easily be one of the most poorly, underfunded "major" tracks to exist.
Is this the same Rossi that couldn't make it in F1?
Andrew Brooks
The races in previous years had no issue with IndyCar. If people want to argue that the track is too wide then why was no one complaining about California or Michigan?
Jackson Perez
Because back when they drove at Fontana and Michigan, we had competent drivers.
Benjamin King
10 lap penalty kek
Bentley Long
10 LAP PENALTY POSSE BTFO
Kevin Robinson
Cars are out. Rossi's fucked
Ryan Ortiz
everyone is simply overreacting and speaking emotionally and not logically right now.
hold the fuck up, did they just say Rossi is coming in with -49 laps down??
Easton Edwards
The comeback is on!
Jacob Brown
Hinch. Rossi hasn't finished repair yet
Jack Wilson
it seems dumb but he can pass other wrecked cars, such as pigot
might matter for the title in the end
Luke Watson
I don't have a step for my bed, i literally climb up into the bed.
Jaxson James
Will Paul Menard ever race Indy?
Brayden Sanchez
Is Pocono too dangerous for Indycar? Seems like Indycar is a bit of pussy feet.
Christian Jenkins
WILL I L L
Zachary Watson
I've always felt so bad for Paul Menard.
Here's this kid, worked his butt off his entire life, and can't get himself on a winning team like Hendricks.
Such a fucking shame because Gordon, Elliot, and Johnson only got themselves into racing because of daddy's money while Menard had to work his way up and still gets the short end of the stick.
Leo Walker
W I L L Y P I L L Y P
Josiah Nguyen
You stupid fucking idiot. Paul Menard's dad is literally the richest man in Wisconsin. HIS FUCKING DAD OWNS ALL THE MENARDS STORES IN THE USA.
Paul Menard has won one fucking NASCAR race in his life in the over 10 years he's been racing. It was at Indianapolis and it was because he was on fuel strategy (Gordon was caching him).
PAUL MENARD FUCKING SUCKS
Don't ever post this stupid shit again
Austin Barnes
pagenaud is winning this shit
Liam Reed
pagenaud has a rocket today
Joshua Martinez
I've actually met Paul Menard before
I saw him at the Brickyard in 2011. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my pit road tour and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I decided to leave the pit road tour and go back to the grandstands to my seat for the race, Paul was attempting to sneak off of pit road with a 45 year old milf into the spectator's portopotty.
The guy scanning VIP passes was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, I believe you have a race soon.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear him, but eventually Paul pulled a couple $100 dollar bills out.
When he took the Milf's 3 VIP passes (the others being for Gordon and Ky. Busch) and started scanning his a second time, he stopped him a and told him to scan them each pass individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After he scanned each pass and gave them back to the milf and started to tell him to have a great race, he kept interrupting him by yawning really loudly.
Later I saw Paul Menard appear from a portopotty, sweatied, and running to his car to stand with his teammates for the National Anthem.
holy sheet sweetie, calm your panties down and change out that pad.
Eli Nelson
thanks for making me laugh today user.
Julian Perez
The problem is that they have a nearly 1 month gap between this and the prior race. If they put a race in between that, maybe the drivers would be much smarter and less rusty
Ayden Hernandez
Shit you not, scoring pylon at the track is frozen on Lap 39
Noah Reyes
is indycar that more difficult that they cant just follow the nascar schedule? Why only 17 races?
Anthony Richardson
Uhm, well guess what, sweaty?
It now has 3 NASCAR races per season so you're going to have to learn to love how shitty it is
Hunter Smith
Poconofag here, we go every year, love the race, love the track. Parking sucks because they don't cut the grass when its 90f and dry.
Noah Richardson
Can't gooch the rooch
Gabriel Jenkins
Some dumb faggot at the top of the IndyCar hierarchy is afraid of having more races on the schedule for some reason.
Benjamin Edwards
20 is probably the ideal number. Nascar simply has too many races. no need to repeat any track
Grayson Thompson
One thing I'll never understand is how CART managed to have 250+ mph oval racing and only 1 guy died in decades, while the IRL/IndyCar cant seem to go 2 years without a massive fucking crash.
That Fontana race with the DW12 a few years back is still the craziest, most insanely dangerous race I've ever seen. I think that's literally the only race that made Tony wonder why he was doing it, if no one's there to watch it.
Ryan Butler
I think the best amount of races on the NASCAR schedule would be 31 imo
Brandon Wood
>indyfags are to dumb to understand this
Nathaniel Price
who the fuck allows so many bumps to be on the apex of the 200mph+ turn 2??? what the actual HECK
Jonathan Ward
American cars are built to last (i.e. go over bumps) while European cars are meant for flat roads
>It now has 3 NASCAR including trux and rexfinity, and newly acquired arca. That would be 6 races per season next year.
Carson King
they're driving italian cars tho
William King
>Herta
Landon Jackson
CAWSHUN, this could actually get very interesting with the rain coming
Evan Cruz
>Nascar simply has too many races
I love nascar but I actually agree with this. you have 29 "normal" season Nascar races, but then you have to add 10 extra races for the playoffs.
Just the fact that next week is a week off is a breath of fresh air. They really need to constrain the races to about 20 - 25 races or so. 39 races is ridiculous.
oh cool just allow another super slow crashed car back on track. Hinch didn't cause enough problems I guess
Jordan Williams
These are built in indianapolis
Colton Taylor
hinch is pulling out lol
Ryder Jackson
they only approached 240 once and it literally killed the series, see Texas 2001
Logan Rogers
Instead of putting safer barriers on the walls around the track, why not put them on the side of the cars?
Gavin Lopez
Herta was running really well you dink
Luis Clark
fuckin storm is still 100 miles away....
Samuel Bennett
These guys can't race smart. If you have a series with less aggressive drivers (basically what Ryan Hunter Reay said), then racing here is no problem. But you have a handful of great drivers, then a tier of dangerous shitters below them.
William Wright
not talking about herta dumbass
Tyler Reed
god i wish greenlight made a diecast of rossi's patched car
Joshua Martin
youre the dumbass loser
Brandon Davis
ROSSI COMING IN
COMEBACK OF THE CENTURY HAPPENING
Tyler Gomez
Why u gotta be so rude :(
Evan Flores
comeback to the garage after he wrecks again
Angel Adams
Whats he at? like -79 laps? kek
Jace Reyes
-89 actually
Ryder Taylor
That was just because it was Texas, they had no issues with the gentler curves at Fontana.
And you better believe they were over 250 there, shit they could do it in qualifying
its because of lightning. They don't fuck around with lightning at pocono anymore since someone got killed by being struck by lightning.
Carson Thompson
Pretty spot on. Indycar has really relaly good talent for the top 8 or so and the rest are just trash.
F1 on the other hand has VER and VET and the rest or atleast decent and safe. No competition and boring races but safe. Indycar has just shitters filling up the mid to back field.
Christopher Campbell
>grosjean >safe
Joshua Edwards
30 minutes from the most recent strike and sunset is in ~2.5 hours. I don't think this one's getting restarted.
Yeah this race fucking sucked. Swedish meatball got hurt, and nobody could pass.
Angel Brown
>Swedish meatball got hurt hes fine and cleared to drive though?
Jace Foster
Okay, so Pocono is pretty much out of the schedule from next year on after the deaths, the injuries, the weather concerns and the dwindling attendance. What track should take its place?
Camden Mitchell
tl;dr the indy car drivers are too dumb for pocono
Thomas Cruz
watkins glen
Juan Turner
attendance looked pretty good today after the race actually got started
Jason Gomez
Michigan
Adam Thompson
its already pretty much decided that it will be richmond
I had a dream last night. Colton and Seabass at McLaren. He said he was disappointed by his season recently in the french paper, not sure if that means that he would leave DC & V. He should do it, though.
>arr rook clear >*crashes* >oh no rossi drove into my reft side he's to brame why are japs so despicable
Landon Torres
he isn't wrong though. Rossi did move to the right. Sato did most of the moving of course.
Parker Davis
it was mainly sato's fault but everyone is guilty for going berserk on turn 2 lap 1 on a 500 mile race
Ryder Gutierrez
McLaren should hire Helio and Ferucci
Asher Nelson
Helio would be an interesting pick to win the fans over if they give Hinch the boot
Nicholas Allen
I was at the race and have some impressions >literally more people are fans of Matheus Leist than Marco Andretti, even at Pocono >Takuma definitely fucked up but 90% of the field would've/could've done a stupid move like that >Rossi fans and even more insufferable and annoying than Alonso fans >Seabass, Ed Carpenter and Felix are pretty based
Jose James
I want to watch a oval race, unfortunately the closest one is probably Des Moines.
Logan Cruz
Rossi acting like he wouldnt pull that move is a joke. Him keeping his nose in there when RHR and Taku had a run on both sides of him was pretty aggressive and dangerous as well
Elijah Miller
sato drove straight
Dylan Gray
>Rossi fans and even more insufferable and annoying than Alonso fans cunt drivers attract the cunt fans
