Iberian Liga

How many Primeira Liga clubs would survive in La Liga if the two leagues merged?

I'd say benfica, porto, sporting, Braga and maybe the occasional meme team

Benfica and Porto would easily survive and eventually grow big enough to slap Real and Barça around.

Benfica
Porto
Celta de Vigo
Braga
Deportivo da Corunha

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico and maybe Malaga or another meme team

All of them

Benfica and Porto would become what Atletico is now, and be title contenders once every 10 years. Sporting would be a mid-table team. Braga would be a yo-yo team

With that sweet La Liga money? Benfica, Porto, Sporting and Braga.

this

>americans aren't retarded
no one ever

Wtf 0 reading comprehension. Great job fatso.

Wow ethan bad job im not proud of you

hmm sweatie, everton gets more money than barcelona

Irrelevant. The main problem of Portuguese teams is not being able to keep key players because they can't compete with the salaries clubs from other leagues offer. La Liga money would help with that.

I can honestly see some peninsula league merging to happen long term, starting either from benelux or scandinavia
all those clubs need to have those resources pooled if they ever want to be remotely competitive again, desu I hope it happens

They hate us cause they ain’t us

Both Porto and Benfica used to have more CLs than UEFAlona for a long time

Will never happen for a number of reasons. The big clubs are going to breakaway and form a European super league soon, and when it happens other clubs will become even more insular in an attempt to cling to tradition. I can explain to you why this is what is going to happen if you'd like.

Would be really fun to watch imo

missing guimarães

For why this is never going to happen, ask yourself who's going to go for it.

1. The big clubs in Spain?

Why would they invite more clubs thay could potentially challenge them for the title?

2. The smaller clubs in Spain?

Why would they invite clubs that could potentially deny them a place in the top division?

3. The big clubs in Portugal?

Why would they move from a league where they win constantly and never get relegated to a league where they might not win constantly and might even get relegated?

4. Smaller clubs in Portugal?

Would haveiyerally no say in this happening.

I would add Vitória de Guimarães since they actually have fans and the banter would be great.
Also, Deportivo de La Coruña.
