Notice how much better it looks than the current cars. Simple design. No overcomplicated bullshit. Simple, and aesthetically pleasing.
This is why I liked the 2009 redesign. Sure, maybe the rear wing was a bit too high and narrow, although I don't think it looks that bad. But it simplified the design, got rid of extraneous aero bits and weird curvy front wings, and reintroduced straight lines on the wings and smooth, simple, aesthetically pleasing bodywork. And the slick tyres look better too, in addition to the increased traction of course.
The 2017 design made things way too fussy. Loads of random bodywork, too many different angles and shit (like the chevron shape of the front wing, and the slanted rear wing, with parallelogram-shaped rear wing endplates).
For me, the 90s cars looked great. The 80s cars looked pretty cool too, especially in the late 80s I think. It was the mid to late 2000s that looked shit, I think. And now the 2017-today cars also look kinda shit. And the 2021 ones are gonna look shit too, from the mockups I've seen.
Hate or not, Williams has the most aesthetic front wing of the grid. A good paint scheme would make it the cutest 2019 car.

Kvyat is a known quantity. They're not worried about taking second in the WCC this year, they want to go for the win next year. They think Albon has a higher potential than Kvyat, but he needs experience before he can back up a title challenge. Kvyat already has experience, so if Albon turns out to be a total flop in the senior team, it doesn't really matter terribly to Kvyat to put him in at the start of next year, since he already has that experience. Basically they're just throwing shit at the wall and seeing if it sticks right now, in the hopes of mounting a proper title challenge in 2020. Worst case scenario Albon fucks up and they decide Kvyat isn't worth it so they sign Bottas or Hulkenberg or Magnussen at the end of this season.
