Why does the Premier League not have playoffs?
Joseph Butler
David Walker
It’s not Americanised garbage.
Isaiah Fisher
Xavier King
Well, should the World Cup itself no longer use single elimination?
Nathan Clark
Because the prem is about consistency throughout the season, not just getting lucky in playoffs
Owen Diaz
It's the World CUP, not the World League you fucking yank
Christian Gonzalez
There are league competitions AND cup competitions
Evan Evans
**Why does the premier league not have clubs that move town at the drop of a dime?**
Robert Clark
>Champion's League
Explain that one, faggot
Jonathan Jones
You mean the European Cup?
David King
The Champions League acts like a playoff.
Sebastian Perez
>aggregate scoring
Ryan Garcia
>daily school shootings
Leo Carter
They technically do, it's called the champions league
Cameron Adams
Playoffs would be kino but there would be a lot more different winners and a few Liverpool titles
Adrian Carter
It is retarded, being the best after 38 games means you deserve the title. Establishing Playoffs would only discourage teams from putting in effort before the playoffs, just get in there. Imagine leading all the season just to lose a single game in the playoffs out of bad luck and suddenly you're out. It may make sense in America, where there are two conferences.
Levi Clark
>Imagine leading all the season just to lose a single game in the playoffs out of bad luck and suddenly you're out
18-1 was a glorious year
Jason Morris
It's great for the memes, but from a "normal" perspective it's simply an inferior system.
Andrew Campbell
Honestly, best thing to do would be to expand the Charity Shield to be a pre season round robin on neutral ground, maybe even abroad to keep the execs happy.
Premier League winner, FA Cup Winner, League Cup winner, Championship winner.
Gabriel Gutierrez

Because the organizers of the Premier league have made it so every team plays 2 games against every other team. They then declare the team that has the most wins after all of that as the Premier League champion.
The premier league is a member of the Union of European Footbal Associations (UEFA). UEFA organizes many tournaments that have elimination playoffs and the top few teams in the Premier League get to participate in them along side the top teams in other european leagues. So, similar to many north american leagues that have a "regular season" and "playoffs", teams in the premier league are motivated to perform well in their league in order to have a chance to participate in these UEFA playoff tournaments.
Eli King
They do, it's the Community Shield
Blake Morris
Playoffs is the American term for finals but you'll find that finals football in professional sports leagues was already being played well before the Americans organised their sports and started having playoffs
Leo Hill
Why do American sports have playoffs?
Jackson Fisher
second season to sell more tickets
Chase Carter
Because Europeans are pussies, see this example.
They say, we play 38 rounds and you have to be "constant" to be the champion, but the truth is, the champion can rely on few wins in a row and their rivals can lose or draw.
If European soccer had playoffs, you can not rely on other teams mistakes and draws, you rely on yourself and you actually need to win.
Why are you scared of the playoffs if you dominated the league? If you're the best you'll win the playoff bitch.
Jaxon Hughes
This.
Ryan Parker
>A system where it's possible to win the league months before the season is over
Elijah Davis
