>So a lot has been made of AEW’s PPV success. But it’s not really a success, not when you have almost 2 million people with the WWE Network paying 10 dollars a month. WWE is getting 20 million a month of pure profit at this point.
Later, Alex covers some fringe benefits of the Saudi Arabia shows:
>Vince and the Prince are really close, and there’s a kind of talent exchange that goes on, white women are really popular over there. I’m not gonna name names but if a woman is willing to do some things she’ll make a lot of money and make Vince a lot of money. I guess the question is how much camel semen are you willing to drink, hahaha. But uh... you know AEW will never have a revenue stream like that.
>pure profit Holy shit no wonder he was fired lmao
Logan Lee
>2 million people with the WWE Network paying 10 dollars a month. WWE is getting 20 million a month of pure profit at this point. This is objectively false, since it's very common to sub for a free month and then cancel before the bill date, where inevitably WWE will try to rope you back in later with more free months which you'll sign up for again and AGAIN cancel before the bill date. I'd say at least 10% of the subscribers don't even pay for the network at all.
Robert Smith
>AEW's PPV actually wasn't very successful because another company is making money I don't have a horse in this race but that's a very fuckin' silly take
Angel Robinson
What’s your argument? Because if you’re arguing that the Network still has setup costs then you’re fucking stupid. At this point it effectively runs itself.
Angel Morales
It’s about comparisons, moron.
If you sell a burger and make 5 cents, but I sell a burger and make 5 dollars, whose successful?
Mason Evans
This is the intelligence level of WWE fans.
Tyler Carter
WWE also seems hell bent on sabotaging the network from within.
>NXT moved to USA >Trying to sell PPVs to ESPN+
Chase Cruz
seek education, user
Grayson Ramirez
Nobody tell him why this is a really dumb and facile take. I want to see him try and figure it out himself
Eli Foster
They're using the MLB network servers dude, you think they're being hosted for free? Not to mention electricity use, possibly bandwidth, taxes, paying the interns to add new content, maintenance contractors, etc etc etc
Adrian Butler
There’s a thing called COGS (costs of good sold). This is where WWE is makings it’s money.
Advertising = 0. You only see Network ads on WWE shows.
Maintenance = 100 a month. I’m factoring in electrical repairs, etc.
Overhead = 0, as noted Network is already built.
Cost of new shows = 0 as everyone involved is already a WWE employee so this is instead a part of wages/salary.
So unless those servers cost millions of dollars a month WWE is basically printing money with the Network at this point. Even if only 90% of subscribers are paying.
Connor Mitchell
ah, so that's why their stocks plummeted and they fired their co-presidents while they suckle on that juicy saudi titty
Noah Young
>you only see Networks ads on WWE shows
this is not a good thing you birdbrain
Jason Jones
You won't get a response from that retard because he thought he could get away with posting stupid bullshit without being called out.
Christian Long
This is pretty indicative of how the WWE works right now. If Investors hear "20 million dollars a month for virtually nothing" it sounds like the company is doing good and worth investing in. Record low viewership angry fans and employees that hate their job? No look we made more money than ever. Is it mostly from big carny TV deals because we promised wrestling was on its way back and we would get 3.5 viewers a week? ummm look record profits things are great and we totally arent on a bubble
Liam Cook
Almost as if most people don't care how the sausages are made as long as they get some sausage.
No investors gave a shit about employee's happiness or record low viewership or bad story lines as long as they get their dividends. With the TV deals and the Saudi deals, WWE and their stock holders are set for the next 4 years. The stock value plummeting doesn't affect stock holders as long as they don't sell, once the new India and Middle East TV deal is announced plus when a big streaming platform bought the big 4 PPVs off the network, the shares price will rise again. That'll be $11.99.
Parker Lopez
Randy Orton wanted to jump ship to aew, all they had to do is pay him, and Tony Kahn balked at it because his daddy cut off aews funds. They made excuses but everyone knows Orton is more valuable to a wrestling promotion than Jericho ever was.
Joseph Brooks
nice head canon
Parker Torres
that tatoo is k kona as fuck
Jaxon Taylor
Hell no he wasn’t. Randy hasn’t been apart of anything good or great in a near decade and that is being generous. Although that headcannon about cutting off funds is retarded considering overspending on talent is what killed WCW.
Jordan Powell
>you have almost 2 million people with the WWE Network paying 10 dollars a month. WWE is getting 20 million a month of pure profit at this point. Who is this brainlet? How is this pure profit? Is this idiot really implying WWE has no expenses? Paying the wrestlers, paying for venues, paying for catering, etc. I'm not denying WWE makes more, but I can't believe anyone would be retarded enough to actually think "Making 20 million a month equals 20 million profit!"
Gavin James
>overspending on talent is what killed WCW
Time Warner/turner had an annual loss of almost 100 billion. Do you actually believe wcw contracts are what made wcw get cancelled?? They didn't even notice those losses. Ric flair was threatening to sue turner, Hogan was suing, and they had the Sonny ono racism lawsuit, the new execs had a million headaches when the merger happened, they didn't want a rasslin headache on top of that
Adam Allen
They’d have to pay the wrestlers anyway you idiot
Michael Allen
user that guy thought Randy was worth more than Jericho. The same Randy who is unmotivated and just floundering in the midcard collecting paychecks. Im aware there were many other facets to the end of WCW however overspending on talent is stupid in general and is a part of their downfall.
Parker Edwards
Cringe
Julian Perez
So the prince really did cum inside Alexa Bliss.
Carter Walker
Randy is a bigger star than Jericho.
Alexander Fisher
please be patient. Yea Forums is the lowest IQ board.
Fuck you. I run a business, I know how things work.
Does the pizza oven cost money every month? No. But internet does, as does elec and water. But do I factor that into the cost of goods sold? No. Why should the consumer pay more for the pizza when the internet, elec, etc has no impact on the pizza?
You must have dropped out of business school before the first class, buddy.
Andrew Ross
you can say he was "on cruise control" all you want. it doesnt matter. and thats just an opinion anyway. If you think Jericho is a bigger star than Orton youre totally clueless.
Eli Mitchell
Okay longer than that but you get my point.
You must be apart of the WCW committee huh? You are missing the point.
Mason Nelson
no you're missing the point. You could just as easily say they shouldnt have signed ambrose because he was "on cruise control" in wwe. its a stupid argument.
Jace Gonzalez
>ignoring that moxley wanted to leave >ignoring WWE mishandled moxley entirely >ignoring randy hasn’t done shit in years
Just stop user.
Matthew Wood
>ignoring that moxley wanted to leave how am i ignoring that? I said he was in cruise control, so that could imply that he wanted to leave.. >wwe mishandled ambrose thats opinion. >ignoring randy hasn’t done shit in years So, you just complained that ambrose was mishandled, then in the next breath act as if randy wasnt also "mishandled" I guess he just books his own segments, right?
