People claiming that Spurs have spent £60+ million and are now in the same leagues as Man City etc are baffling. Yes Spurs signed Ndombele and Jack Clarke (Clarke won't actually play next year) but they also didn't sign a player for 18 months prior to that and have also let 5 first team squad players in Vorm, Dembele, Trippier, Llorente and Janssen leave without finding replacements. Spurs are facing the prospect of starting the league campaign without a 2nd choice striker for when Kane inevitably injures his ankle as well as the possibility of losing Eriksen to a European team after the window closes or for £0 when his contract expires next summer. Spurs have always lacked strength in depth but I feel this could finally be where they run out of steam and get found out. They've also left everything far too late - it will be difficult to get a deal done now, but it will also take any new signings a significant amount of time to gel with the rest of the squad.

>Manchester United have ended their interest in signing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham as they believe he has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid, Sky Sports News understands.

Dybala and Eriksen too. Players are no longer interested in playing for Manchester United.
