"wtf is this" >legit tank race held in russia annually with assorted countries turning up to compete. All use t72b except indian uses their t-90 Bhishma and china use their type-96b
rules? >Its a time race with a staggered start >Start with a Slalom >Then 3 main gun rounds at a tank target at 1600, 1700 and 1800 meters >Lap of the track >Pintle mounted hmg to shoot a helicopter target at 800-1000 meters >Lap of the track >Use coaxial machine gun to hit a man sized target at 600-800 meters. >finale lap and finish
>Crews must fully dismount before shooting and then load the ammo into the tank >Missing targets adds extra length to the lap after shooting. >Some sections of the course have black and white posts that if hit, have a stop for 10 seconds penalty >All hatchs must be closed for fireing excluding HMG of course (pleb crews seem to forget this alot) >Crews do get a reserve tank in case of complete mechanical failure
Highlights so far >Several african nations running the tanks in high gear and getting stuck or destroying the engine >zimbabwe cheer squad complete with drums and head dresses singing for an hour straight >Myanmar crashing into a ditch >Iran burning their tank down after forgetting to reopen the air intake after a water crossing >zimbabwe stopping an having an ambulance attend them (ruski chat guessed a hand got pinched by an auto loader but nothing serious) >zimbabwe some how opening the bottom hatch below the driver while traveling at 40 kmph >Sudan doing a reverse iran and not closeing the air intake covers and completely flooding a T72 >Cuba going one better than both and flooding their tank and then on the next lap with thier reserve tank they flooded that one as well >And even better Sudan did the same thing in the same race all while dragging it out to 58 minutes (average time is 20min, Russian and Chinese normally hit 17mins)
Myanmar doing a good job for 2nd division. Laos on the other hand got overtaken by god damn Uganda and hit 0 targets

3rd Race finished >1st Russia 4/5 hits 19:12 >2nd Kyrgyzstan 3/5 hits 25:29 >3rd Armenia 0/5 hits 27:48 >4th 3/5 hits 28:37 Today we learnt when facing an armenian tank the safest thing you can do is stand perfectly still. Thoughts and prayers to the russian crew who missed a shot and hit a post, i hope the gulags arent to hard on you. Iran did better than last time even if they lost to a team how took literally every penalty they could.

The finale race of yesterday treated us to 4 destroyed tanks between 2 teams so hopes are high for this one.
well it appears tajikistan did something horrendously wrong loading their ammo and was so bad/dangerous they are swapping tanks. I just waiting to see a cook off live on youtube

Who maintains the tanks? Are they supplied by the competition and the countries just send teams, or are the tanks shipped from the competitors military stock?

the majority are maintained and supplied by russia, You can bring your own like china and indian (when they competed). Some dont even operate this model of tank. Uganda has only ww2 hand down tank and they are here doing better than these guys
