Considering how easy it is to access performance enhancing drugs, why are they considered 'cheating'?
Surely cheating is when you gain an unfair advantage over someone else, but there is literally nothing stopping your rivals from just taking drugs too and levelling the playing field.
Based, everyone should dope to reach peak performance, if the Olympics don't feature people at peak performance then what's the point in watching or participating, may as well watch a high school pe class
Jayden Young
guess bodies don't react the same way to doping so it would still be unfair. I wouldn't care about doping if doping wasn't actually bad for the body, it is. for now.
Julian Gray
Then you'll just get entire sports filled with women who have taken so much dope they look like men, just like the 80's.
Liam Hall
That never happened
Alexander Myers
There's literally no counter argument Also, where does one draw the line between which supplements are legal and which are illegal? It's completely arbitrary.
Ryan Miller
>Try not to use 'muh moral code' as a defence. Make me.
Jeremiah Green
not muh moral code. it's more like 'muh arbitrary line between human and nonhuman'
mankind loves sorting things into categories . bit like autistic children using building blocks
Michael Lewis
heath and safety
Chase Mitchell
So eating manufactured goods is non human? So athletes are only allowed to consume potatoes they've grown themselves ye? Fuck up with your shit logic
John Thompson
Froome please....
Zachary Torres
Lawsuits out of the ass from families.
Brayden Sanchez
not my logic but the logic of the ioc
they're trying to measure, compare and contrast human performance levels. if you don't draw the line at doping you certainly draw the line at using construction equipment to lift weights
Ryder Rogers
humans can use tools to enhance performance in the same way that they can consume substances.
it's not so much about where the line is drawn so long as it's drawn consistently
I just want to see someone run the 100m in 8 seconds then their heart explodes out of their chest as they cross the finish line.
Mason Sullivan
Yea but, what's the difference between one athlete eating a healthy diet of say nuts that increase his strength and the other doesn't, that's certainly allowed, so doping should be as well
John Scott
it'll be weird in the far future when transhumanism gives the audience alien like agility, speed, stamina while the so called athletes have had to abstain
Ian Taylor
Kek This is such a good point Soon, athletes will be below average in terms of speed and power
Benjamin White
the line just isn't drawn at the level of diet. that's all.
after that all that matters is that there's no barrier to the other athletes eating healthy .
you could argue that there's disparity at a national level when it comes to number of people who can afford to eat healthy but not for individual contenders
Xavier Bell
Only peak performance must be celebrated.
No female sports, whatever the products, maybe guidelines to prevent use of blatant toxic products that will kill you in 2 years.
Robert Taylor
Fuck off, shill. You keep making the same shitty threads and get betfoed each time. Do the world a favour and end it.
John Lee
The same could be said for punching your opponents in the throat. Everyone could do it, so it can't be cheating. It can't be anything undesirable, either.
Julian Sanders
Alright fair point, what about having sex right before the competition, is that cheating
Jordan White
you can easily overcome doping control by having a doctor prescribing you special medicine under the guise of medical necessity (most well known example being asthma)
Brandon Collins
you don't even need to go back to the 80's for that
