The opening weekend of the English league season comes to a conclusion with a match between two sides with definite play-off ambitions.
The Terriers' 2018/19 season can only be described as an absolute disaster; with David Wagner genuinely leaving by mutual consent (and not the usual meaning) his replacement Jan Siewert fared no better and managed to get relegated in March. Only one other team in the Premier League era managed that, and suitably enough it's their opponents tonight. No longer burdened with the tag of "Frank Lampard's" following their play-off final defeat, the Rams have gone continental for the first time with the appointment of ex-Netherlands midfielder Phillip Cocu.
Kick-off is at 7:45pm UK time with coverage on Sky Sports Football from 7:00pm.
Rooney will rip the championship apart, he's still good.

Only had a few saves to make. Saved a good shot from Waghorn at end of first half. Couldn't do too much about Derby's second goal. Made a sort of "mistake" for the first Derby goal, but it was after a mistake from Elphick and he had to gamble a bit in the situation, so can't be held too much against him. I'll link it at the end of the post, you'll see what I mean when I say it's not really his fault. Also put his body on the line a bit diving in to stop a low cross on the counter that would have probably have resulted in a goal if he hadn't. Took a boot in the face from one of the other lads doing it. streamja.com/3o0E
