Wilt played for stats and NBA allowed him to do it for publicty

>literal whos: the list

No. Larry Joe Bird is the GOAT

LBJ never played basketball in his life, Andrzej

People think players in the NBA get better over the generations when they actually get better or worse depending on the meta. Wilt would've scored 40 per game up until the early 2000s, where he would've scored 75 per game, up until 2012 or so when the meta shifted to its current state. Wilt wouldn't even make an NBA roster in the current meta because only memechucking and pick and rolls are allowed.

Playoff ppg per 36 minutes of the top 5 players of the Philadelphia 76ers who won the title in the 66/67 season

Billy Cunningham 23.9
Hal Greer 21.8
Chet Walker 21.3
Wali Jones 19.9
Wilt Chamberlain 16.3

Playoff ppg per 36 minutes of the top 5 players of the Los Angeles Lakers who won the title in the 71/72 season

Gail Goodrich 22.4
Jerry West 20.4
Jim McMillian 16.5
Happy Hairston 12.6
Wilt Chamberlain 11.3

>the virgin underhand grip
>the chad palm grip

Someone like Wilt would dead memechucking tbqh.

>would obviously be unguardable in the paint
>would be able to get a lot of o boards and easy points
>would foul out meme smallball Cs like Apemond
>would also neutralize fast break memechucks due to said rebounding dominance

This, he only played against unathletic white manlets like pic-related.

and remember that modern heights are inflated. Pic-related, both of them were listed at 6'9". Bill Russell was measured at 6'9.5" barefoot.

What? Blocks weren't even recorded as an stat back then, you are just giving that number out of your ass

Also, if a guy has 100 points and 21 assists in the same game it means he at least was involved in 90% baskets of a blow out game, that's literally statpadding. That means they scored at least 142 points, in a slow scoring era

Russell was like 80 years old in that picture and still looks quite young and fit, plus didn't shrink like most old people. Does he still train or something?

Pic-related is how Wilt stacks up in the modern era. Same shoulder height as Yao Ming. Yeah, I'm sure somebody who's 4 inches taller than Dwight Howard, with all the athleticism, wouldn't dominate today's era....
and remember, offensive fouls actually existed in Wilt's era. He couldn't just push people out of the way and dunk like Shaq could. Wilt had an elite mid-range fadeaway:

nigga he didn't even dominate his own non-3 point era and you expect him to dominate now when centers are irrelevant? you are talking like he won 10 rings

Kek, Wilt was legit like 8 incurred taller than Draymond. Watching Dray try to square up against Wilt would be comical.

Attached: gettyimages-515102767-1024x1024.jpg (612x1024, 297K)

Westbrook would jump right through this fucking bum and slam it on his peanut head.

>Muh stats
Nerd

Kek based

Those numbers are his max in career I think, except for blocs that is invented

btw the game where he scored 100 the team scored 169 without overtime, who watched the game said the opposing team (Knicks) was trying to score fast so Wilt could score more points and do that perfect 100 because it was all pubblicity for the NBA

It wasn't the same game, those are his career highs in each category. The score of the 100 point game was 169-147. It was kind of stat-padding, the other team was missing their starting center and Wilt feasted on backups.
>slow scoring era
You need to learn your basketball history, that era was very fast-paced and had a lot of high-scoring games. Also players actually played the full game (especially Wilt, who lead the league in MPG 9x). While modern players are pulling load management BS because they get tired, Wilt averaged 48.5 mpg the season he scored 100.

Attached: 1561781544380.jpg (499x700, 169K)

there are only like 4 noteworthy people from that list

here's the deal
Wilt is the best player of all times in terms of being better than everyone else in his own era. LeBron is the best player of all time talent wise because his era is made up of the biggest talent pool, and assuming basketball grows, the best player in the next era will surpass LeBron. MJ is caught in the middle where he is better than LeBron relative to era, but still behind Wilt.

>Wilt is the best player of all times in terms of being better than everyone else in his own era.
Then why Bill Russell has 9 rings more than him?

because there were 9 teams in the league and his team was stacked.

>be foreign trash
>can't understand real sports at all
he dominated his era, his teams didn't.
Pic-related, who was 4-5 inches taller than Westbrook, dunked on Wilt and trash talked him after. Then he tried to dunk on Wilt again later that same game...
Wilt blocked the dunk so hard that he literally dislocated Gus Johnson's shoulder; he had to leave the game with an injury. Wilt would fucking end Westbrook's career.

he did dominate his era you retard.
>MUH RINGS
learn what team sports are.
>centers are irrelevant
Wilt is about 4 inches taller than the average center today and more athletic than any of them. He'd be unstoppable, especially since offensive fouls don't get called anymore. He also doesn't need the load management that today's lazy players need, so he'd have 15 minutes per game against scrub backups.

he probably did shrink some. He's also wearing dress shoes while Ben Wallace is wearing basketball sneakers (which are a lot thicker). Players today just exaggerate their heights and are measured in sneakers.
Also Bill Russell was literally an Olympic-tier athlete in his day. IIRC he was ranked 7th in the world in high jump and could have gone to the Olympics if he didn't choose basketball instead. And Wilt still dominated him (Russell had better teammates and a better coach, and still could barely beat Wilt).

Attached: gus johnson.jpg (594x594, 82K)

He played with Nate Thurmond, Guy Rodgers, and Tom Meschery in his prime while averaging 38ppg and his team went 17-63
He played with Paul Arizin, an NBA champ voted in the top 50 all time
He played with Hal Greer and Billy Cunningham, both top 50 all time who averaged like 25ppg while playing with him
He played with fucking Jerry West and Elgin Baylor, then also Gail Goodrich and won only one ring in like 5-6 years

>He played with Nate Thurmond, Guy Rodgers, and Tom Meschery in his prime while averaging 38ppg and his team went 17-63
The team didn't have depth and was struggling financially. Importantly, Wilt wasn't even with them the whole season. He was traded during the season, and brought the 76ers a ring a couple years later.
>muh 80-year-old Elgin Baylor!
I swear do Wilt-haters know anything at all about basketball before the 90s or are you all millenials who watched a couple MJ games as a little kid and that's all you know?

>Winning doesn't matter in teams sports the thread

There are only 3 guys worth mentioning in this list though

whatever happened to 40+ minutes a game, 75+ games a season players?

i thought you guys said Bird was the GOAT?

modern players are soft as fuck.
>MUH LOAD MANAGEMENT!
>MUH COACH THIBBS ONLY GAVE ME 12 MINUTES OF REST PER GAME!
Wilt averaged 48.5 mpg in a sport that has 48 minute games. That's a real man's man.
>Robert Horry is better than MJ

Attached: Wilt and Bob Lanier.jpg (779x1280, 197K)

SHUT UP FAT BITCH

Attached: fat.jpg (497x500, 49K)

blocks weren't an official stat, but we have video, radio, and newspaper accounts. We don't have all of Wilt's block stats but there are a lot of his games that do have blocks. IIRC we know he had like 12 blocks in the 100-point game.

Attached: wilt and arnold.jpg (925x1390, 112K)

>Rings are either the only thing or nothing
>Nevermind Jordan has 6 finals MVPs and Horry has zero
lol Magic is better than Wilt. That's why he won championships and got individual accolades too. Larry was better too. And so was Jordan. Not to mention Bill Russell was the only other center that could make it today and he constantly shut down Wilt whenever it mattered.

>Wilt has 1 finals mvp
>"He's the goat"

>t. Knows literally nothing about basketball before the 90s
SAD
>It's Wilt's fault that the Finals MVP didn't exist in 1967
>It's Wilt's fault he lost a Game 7 by 2 points even though he shot 12/15 against Bill Russell
Do any of you even watch basketball?
