Why did everyone use to call Chris Paul the "Point God"? Was he really THAT good in his prime?

best point guard of all time

Nah, that's prime D. Rose

Sorry, it's Russel Westbrook

rose was never a top 50 player in any season

This

Yes, he should have won DPOTY & MVP in 2008 but the Media gave it to Kobe because he was never good enough in any of his season's to legimately deserve the award, and they needed to market him as the next Jordan. So they gave it to him as a lifetime achievement award

t. retard

Awful opinion
Maybe if he wasn't a greedy faggot obsessed with stats

Only 2 scumbags called him that:
his agent and the manager of his current team that wants to trade him.

During Paul's prime, the debat wasn't to know who was the best point guard in the NBA, but who was the best behind Paul. And it was at a time where Nash, Parker, Billups, Deron, Rondo, Rose and Westbrook were all all-stars as well

The 07-08 team had some promise, too bad they ran into the 00's Spurs. They may have choked away a Finals cameo desu

Among all point guards, the best ranked in all-NBA teams was:

2008 - Paul
2009 - Paul
2010 - Nash/Deron (Paul missed half of the season due ton injury)
2011 - Rose
2012 - Paul
2013 - Paul
2014 - Paul
2015 - Paul

Daily remind that David Stern killed his chances to get a ring

Very good PG in his prime. Magic and Isiah really the only two PGs I'd take over him as they were a little bit better at knowing when to take over and score in the clutch(CP3 tended to defer a bit too much)

>you now realize that david stern was the best gm the hornets ever had

only zoomers think CP3 isn't and wasn't good

he is still extremely good

Rockets were also going to sign Nene had that trade went through. They also would have had the pieces to still trade for Harden.

>implying Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, and Al-Farouq Aminu is a better deal

You're a fucking retard bro.

>Nah, that's prime D. Rose
The whole 1 month?

Isaiah was barely the fifth best player on his own team

eric gordon was looking like a perennial all star and still on his rookie contract. It would have been similar to trading for devin booker or bradley beal. Obviously in hindsight it was a shit deal.

Lakers deal would have given them 31yo Scola, 32yo Odom, 28 yo injury-plagued Kevin Martin, and 7ppg Dragic.

The Clippers offer gave them Gordon, who was 22yo and averaged 22ppg, Aminu who was 20yo and a lottery pick, and Kaman who was 28yo but had been an all-star the previous season.

Depending on which option they wanted (rebuild through youth or have a vet team contend for the 8th spot), any option could have been selected, but the Clippers deal was the most high reward one.
