I understand how it may have come off that way and seems stupidly obvious, it's just part of my larger point that with the Red Sox hitters being the best in baseball all you need from your starters is innings more or less regardless of ERA because the bullpen is bullshit and will double the score of the other team at least. The red sox pitching has had 5 (five) games this entire season where they only used the starting pitcher and one or less relievers and it always came across that most people looked at the ERAs and strikeouts of Sale and Price over the innings that ERod gave, and how in terms of sheer dollar amounts per win ERod is the most cost effective pitcher by far for the Sox and deserves some credit. Which, I get, is not exactly germaine to the thread with who was starting but is just one of my gripes with the pitching this year.
