It really is a shame that ghastly is such a shit driver considering how good the red bull is this year. They could have had way more points in the WCC.
I'm always ashamed to be French when I see how poorly Gasly, Grosjean and Renault are performing... Literally the worsts.
Levi Powell
>considering how good the red bull is this year Honda Red Bull is more reliable for sure. But, wasn't Renault Red Bull won more races last season, though?
Or maybe Merc had built way better cars this year.
Carter Baker
Yep they had better drivers last year though, they are running on less than 50% of last years skill
Leo Perez
Gasly and Red Bull have no excuse, he should've been better vetted. He clearly has no idea how to drive the RB15 or compete at the top of the field. Grosjean is a shitter and I don't know how he's lasted this long. He always manages to do something embarrassing. Renault used to be good but I'd say that since Alonzo left they've been taking scraps from other teams instead of developing talent themselves. I suspect a change in team attitude toward lower-tier racing is to blame, in addition to Renault never having a PU that's on par with the competition

Can we talk about how shit Alfa's strategy was yesterday? >put Gimi on slicks despite constant danger of rain >he has to come in again laps later for inters, when it starts to rain inevitably >when the track was dry again, they waited a lap to put him back on slicks, wasting a lot of time >later turns out, the team told Gimi, and Antonio some settings about the clutch, they weren't supposed to at the start, earning both drivers a 30 sec penalty, so instead of double points, Alfa got fucking 0

How the hell did Hamilton not get a penalty for that unsafe pit entry that is usually penalized in all motorsports? I swear stuff like that makes me not take FIA seriously.
Jose Jackson
Well I am being a bit harsh, Ferrari refused to be part of that series so Mercedes copied them and refused too, there wasn't that much they coul-d concentrate on really.
Logan Lopez
He DID get a penal, 5 seconds or something. He DIDN'T get a penal for the 2slo under safety car.
Michael Gonzalez
Ocon was the good guy and didn't have a seat. Ricciardo was the good guy and ended up in a shit seat. You may be onto something.
Ethan Bell
Well you see, Lewis is a model-driver and has never committed any kinds of infraction at the entry to the pits in Hockenheim, and certainly nothing of the sort over the last year or two. So punishing him unduly for it would be poor form considering its effectively a one-off circumstance that would never happen again or have similarly styled reoccurrences.
Wait, so they argue that Hamilton completed one lap less than anyone around him under the safety car, right? Doesn't that mean that he was effectively one lap back and should have let everyone by (or rather have unlapped himself) and consequently drop to the last place? Really, you can't have your cake and eat it. Either he came out where he came out and should have complied with the same rules as everyone else - or he came out with one lap less. What is that bullshit?
Joshua Jenkins

Are you talking about Kubica or Hamilton here. Because one was way luckier than the other yesterday, and received far more direct favouritism.

"I'll see, I've been racing since I was six years old," Perez said. "I imagine it would be very hard to stop after Formula 1. But I will try to take some time with my family, I've been out of Mexico since I was 14.
"I will take a year or two to see if I miss it, and if I don't that's it. If I miss it, I'll be very interested in Le Mans and then we'll see. You never know what the future holds."
"I wouldn't [go to IndyCar], I think if you don't start there then it's very hard," Perez said. "They have some fantastic races like the Indy [500], but the oval races, I'm not a fan of them.
"I think it's too much risk. For example, I've seen what has happened to Robert Wickens. A little contact here and there can do a lot of damage to you.
"If you grow up with those tracks... for me to go back there and do a full season of IndyCar is very unlikely."
Nicholas Perez
Indy 500 is only 1 (rather boring) track. There are many different tracks in F1. So yes I'd much rather take 2 F1 WDC's over 1 Indy
Jack James
See, if you looked to which post I replied, it's the polak's one at In other words, kubica was lucky to get a point, but since you now brought up hamilshit, he was even luckier, not just because of points, but also because he didn't DNF even though he hit the wall and spun off in T1
I'd rather be remembered for something unique like never scoring a podium(hulk) than be a shitty zoomer(stroll) who will never win and won't have any meaningful statistics about him because he got on the podium that one time. Same with hamshit, big boy winner who nobody will care about or like except for the semen slurping commentators, whereas people like hulk will always be remembered by the fans for his own achievements. The point is, yesterday's race proved hamshit and buttshit have no skill and are pure carbabbys

Stroll is a fraud, he just lucked out, at least Kvyatt has a history of doing some good driving once in a while.
am i the only one that put money on kubica to score points??
Benjamin Bell
Yes, I did notice what you replied to. I just think that Hamilton puts it into perspective: Kubica did better than him, had a worse car, was less favoured by the FIA ... and lastly, he was one of very few drivers who didn't make any errors in yesterday's wet race. They do say rain is an equalizer, because it makes the driver matter much more than the car. And I think Hamilton proved that best. In that context, I think you have to at least respect Kubica showing that he can still race (and bring the car home) in the wet with some level of consistency.
I was wondering if a f1 could do the 24h le mans, especially without the retarded limitation by the fia for f1.
Since an engine for f1 today is for let's 3 races of 2h tops., that's not much, but with no limitations on performance, perhaps the f1 could go fast enough to for the mechanics to change the engine? how long does that take? What about the old engine, instead of the retarded hybrid crap? how long does the change of breaks take too? at least pitting for tyres is not long with f1.
>Williams had a further bargeboard and floor update for this race. Robert Kubica used it on Friday but bits of it were falling off even before he damaged it further with a heavy hit over a kerb. He reverted to the standard spec car for Saturday, with George Russell doing it the other way around, but being compromised by a damaged floor (also from a heavy kerb hit) in qualifying. They were separated by only 0.1sec, with Russell ahead BASED KUBGOD.
The cars could do it (unless they crash which is very likely) but what's the point if you make them run at 50% for fuel economy ? They are sprint cars, not endurance ones.
Besides F1 aero is shit (open wheel, open cockpit) which means they are massively inefficient in terms of fuel and that's why hybrid for F1 is retarded too. The entire concept of having an "economic" F1 car fuel wise doesn't make sense because a fuel efficient F1 is called a LMP1.
It was a stroke of genius from Netflix to get the rights to turn this race into a documentary and focus heavily on Mercedes.
By the way: What's Ron Howard doing right now? This would be the ideal race to turn into a blockbuster.

Hulkenberg had already been overtaken by both Mercedes (thus putting him out of the podium positions) by the time he crashed. I guess you could say maybe he could have recovered a podium position after the Mercs both got annihilated, but I doubt it. Max and Vettel would obviously have taken #1 and #2, overtaking Hulkenberg, anyway. And #3 was of course taken by Kvyat, who was one of the drivers to luck out by gambling on slicks (along with Stroll) when none of the frontrunners were willing to take the risk (Kvyat and Stroll were both near the back when they took that gamble, just as the safety car was ending, and their gamble paid off, putting them to the front of the pack). Maybe I shouldn't call it a gamble, maybe it was just astute observation of the weather, but yeah.
So I don't think Hulkenberg threw away a podium. He had already lost it by the time he crashed.
this Bottas and Hamilton only fucked themselves over from an SC caused by the Hulk crash P4 would still have been great but he didn't blow a podium
Justin Turner
Seriously tho how does a truck even get there? Looks legitimately as if someone parked it there on purpose.

You're right. It was an Alonso-tier career decision. Why he threw his entire career away, even if it does mean a temporary pay increase, is beyond my comprehension.

This: Kvyat has made mistakes over the years but he's still a pretty good driver, better than Gasly I think, and Gasly is clearly shit, and that poster is right, redemption stories are kino.
>Ricciardo made BAD BAD decision Yes, he did. Objectively so. No, he wasn't being "embarrassed" by Max. Max got more points in 2018, sure, but they both got 2 race wins, and Ricciardo got 2 poles while Max got 0. Also Ricciardo got 4 fastest laps vs. only 2 for Max, but one of those races was Canada where they ended the race prematurely, and really Ric should have got the fastest lap instead of Max because he set a faster lap on lap 70, but because they waved the flag they disqualified that lap. So it should be 5 - 1 on fastest laps.
Did Rosberg leave Mercedes immediately after being beaten on points by Hamilton in 2013? No. Did he do it after 2014, or 2015? No. He stuck with the team and he fought. Ricciardo made a stupid decision, end of.
>autistic set up preparation (see ricky comments on this) I have not heard about this, what "autistic set up preparation" has Max done? Also I disagree that nobody else would be able to drive that RB well. All these drivers are much closer in raw skill than you think. Max is not that special, you said it yourself that he can make mistakes.

f1 is pretty shit but rain makes it watchable, more chance of crashes and action
Ricky said himself that he didn't do setup he left that for Max. Max is better than you think, a top tier driver could keep up with him or at least help with regards to the championship but any of the red bull driver route choices? Maybe a bit better than Gasly but no where near Max.

Four observations:
A) What happened to the center barrier on in the other direction? If that spot sees accidents regularly, maybe it's not safe to race there.
B) With a crash as big as this, why aren't they waving yellows, much less have the safety car out?
C) Why haven't the marshals picked up the rubble that's everywhere on the road?
D) Why is there so little runoff area? There are assistance vehicles parked right on the track.
I'd say the authorities fucked up here and that race should never have been held at a venue like this one.

Sebastian Sanders
>Everyone knows Hakkinen and Raikkonen but almost no one knows who Bottas is Well, that might have to do with the fact that Bottas is merely a number 2 driver who will probably never win a title.
?????????? 1. Schumacher won 7 WDCs, how many has Max won you fucking idiot? 2. We got to see Schumacher race against other top drivers in similarly competitive cars, e.g. against Damon Hill, Mika Hakkinen. We haven't seen that yet with Max because his RB hasn't been at the front of the field - it's not comparable with the Mercedes and the Ferrari.
And your whole "argument" about Max being better than Ricciardo was based on some vague claim that Ricciardo didn't do setup, and left it to Max. You provided no evidence for this. I can't find a story which says this. I found a story about Max "leaning on Ricciardo" for his setup though: autosport.com/f1/news/124704/verstappen-leaning-on-ricciardo-for-car-setup
Granted that's from 2016 but like I say, I couldn't find a story saying what you're saying. And there's another story from 2017 where Ricciardo is saying that they happened to have the same setup on one race weekend, although with slight differences - so basically each driver does their own setup: crash.net/f1/news/887846/1/ricciardo-too-many-times-i-ve-had-verstappen-s-setup-woes
Maybe you should stop sucking one driver's dick, it's embarrassing.

God it looks like the trailer completely jumped the barriers behind where the cab went through them. They're both bent that way, and the debris opposite would indicate the armco tore some of the undercarriage off the trailer. The whole truck must have been going sideways at some serious velocity to do that. Maybe if something caused the trailer to veer hard to the left and the driver tried to compensate, sending the whole truck crabbing left and through the median. Weird shit.
I doubt they move the pilots in trucks. I think RIC and HUL drive their own cars to get to the circuits.

Like I've said, it's impossible to say how good he is because there is no other decent driver in that car to compare against. And the RB hasn't shown itself to be as consistently performant as the Merc or Ferrari yet, so we can't compare against those drivers either. And over the last few years, Ric has been very strong against Max, they've been pretty equal in what they've got out of the car.

>give them to the inconvenienced team That would mean absolute chaos at the back end of the WCC table. And introduce an incentive for teams to "trick" other teams into usafe releases.

>We haven't seen that yet with Max because his RB hasn't been at the front of the field - it's not comparable with the Mercedes and the Ferrari. How is he above both of them in the standings?
Daniel Gutierrez
No. They said recently that if Honda drops out of F1 then they'd be prepared to step up and make an engine, but that's it. I they want to work with Red Bull in WEC though, they said they'd love to have Max in their Le Mans challenger.

It just has to happen once: Hamilton impedes a Williams and wins the race. Williams gains 25 points and a few places in the standings.
Or picture the following scenario: Last race of the sesason. Hamilton is WDC already, but Ferrari is still in contention for the WCC. Hamiton then impedes a Ferrari (maybe because Ferrari gambled for it by releasing their driver right before Mercedes did). Hamilton finishing first would now mean that Ferrari win the WCC. To avoid that, Mercedes order Hamilton to retire the car and win the WCC themselves.
Like I said, potential for abuse and absolute chaos.
Austrian move was not illegal and stewards cleared that up, it's just your bias against him that your vision is clouded. Ric was older and had far more experience than Max yet was getting regularly beaten and fucked off to renault to save his appearance.

It's not illegal you mong, Leclerc did exactly the same thing to him immediately the next race and no one gave a shit, Max didn't even complain on radio like Charles did. God damn zoomers can't take a bit of wheel banging and rough racing without crying on Bolivian foot painting forums

To be honest I don't know what the exact rules are around that. Is it okay to force your opponent off the track? I would have thought not. Rosberg was penalised for it. But with Verstappen they were like "oh it's just a racing incident". I don't really understand that.
>Austrian move was not illegal and stewards cleared that up But the question is why not. See what I just said above. Rosberg was penalised for what seems like the same thing, and I would have thought that forcing another driver off the track would be illegal, although I admit that I don't know what the specific rules are. I'm just going by the fact that Rosberg was punished for it. Handed a time penalty I believe.
>your bias Says the guy repeatedly biased towards one driver, lmao. All I'm saying is that you're overhyping him. Against Ricciardo they were pretty evenly matched. Ric unfortunately kept breaking down last season, and if that hadn't happened, Ric might have beaten Max on race wins and maybe on points as well. 2 wins apiece, with 2 poles for Ric and 0 for Max, and 4 (should have been 5, but there was the Canada fuck up) fastest laps for Ric vs. 2 (should have been 1) for Max, shows Ric did pretty well.
>Ric was older And yet still matched his wins and beat him in qualifying and beat him on fastest laps, how curious.
>experience Means nothing when Hamilton came 2nd in his first season and 1st in his second. Nice excuses for the driver that you love to fellate, though.
>fucked off Ric's decision was dumb as fuck, but I think it's because he felt Red Bull were favouring Max. Whether that's true, it's hard for outsiders to say. I think he should have worked those issues out with the team and stayed, because it's obvious from his performances that he was equally as strong as Max and stronger than him on many occasions.
But of course you like to fellate your favourite driver so you won't admit this because you're blinded to reality by your homosexual tendencies.
Bentley Moore
>biased towards Saying he is good and you saying he is average is biased towards him? Guess all in F1 are fellating him too, but no you are right.. >4 paragraphs related to sucking willies Nice.
Jaxson Murphy
Why did Rosberg get penalised for it in 2016 then? Just seems pretty weird that you can just run someone off the track.
You just keep repeating what you've already had answered but with more words, that doesn't make you right, then you spend half the time talking about faggotry, why is this I wonder?
Ethan Butler
>I don't know what the exact rules are around that. Is it okay to force your opponent off the track? No. But the only times the stewarts ever penalize it (unless it's a really blatant offense) is when Hamilton is the "victim". Conversely, they never penalize it when he is the offender.
When we talk about those decisions, it's almost never about the actual rules. It's about who's involved.
>Why did Rosberg get penalised for it in 2016 then? Again: Hamilton. He would not have been penalized had it been anyone else.
Hudson Ross
But the engine has to hold up for 7 races and qualifying sessions so that's around 18 hours or so. Fiddling out that bit more shouldn't be that hard if they tone down some of the components a bit
Jack Robinson
Remember when Alonso choked in 2007, 2010 (spa and abu dhabi), 2012 (spa again, almost brazil), 3 WDC? Shit that still hurts tho, plus he was always on relationship problems.

Any other good driver in the other RB would be giving him a run for his money. If Ricciardo had stayed then he might well be beating Max on points again like he did in 2017.
But if you want to keep sucking one driver's dick then go ahead I guess.

So why would people make fun of him for that exactly?
