>have two players >one is 18 >one is 16 >same personalities >both consistent (according to my AssMan) >both rapidly improved >one now doesn't >it's the 16 year old Is this an age thing? I've always wondered this, if when they hit 18, 18-23 being the 'big improvement' period? Or is the improvement based on the quality of people they play with? Or the quality of the people they play against? Is there anything other than Coaches (Training Rating), Training Facilities, Personality and age that contributes?
Michael Gutierrez
For a 16 year old, you're not factoring in happiness, workrate, and adjustments from Interaction. The 18 year old is getting more out of the quality of competition that he's involved in.
Matthew Green
The 16 year old is amazing. He skyrocketed over the season and I played him in my 2nd season in 1st team and he continued. The 16 year old, however, does have 'Feels lacking depth in attack', does that contribute? He improves, just not as quick. I dunno. Thanks.
Chase Gutierrez
Everything contributes to some degree and then there is a little RNG sprinkled in too. It sounds a little mad but when you look at how many great young players irl end up fading away and playing for dog shit teams by the time they're mid/late 20s its pretty hard to argue against it.
Lucas Foster
For some reason my club only has white and light blue kits so shit like this happens once in a while. Is there any way to add a third kit or something in the middle of a save?
The prize money for winning the Icelandic League Cup is $9.33k lol
Ryder Cook
Don't spend it all in once place.
Austin King
>16 years old wants to move to a bigger club to try to win the League >Second season in the top league and we make it to the play offs and won the Cup >He doesn't want to leave his future to some kids
Fuck you too I guess
Oliver Phillips
I'm already hoarding about 50 players in my senior squad so thats no problem
Aaron Smith
what does the ca and pa of a team's chairman mean in the editor?
Parker Davis
Haven't tested it, but their behaviour is mostly based on their Chairman attributes. That said, I think Ambition still matters. Also, SI kinda fuc- ahem, "tweaked" staff CA increase, and without coaching badges staff barely improves.
So whats YOUR salary good for in this game? Like, I'm playing on lower leagues and I don't want my salary to make a dent on the budget. Does it make a diffrence if I make 5k or 1k a month?
Jack Williams
Currently FMing my first game of the season in the /trb/ prem. Up against perennial title contenders Yer Dinner.
People should strive to be as attractive as possible. Everyone looks like shit, even those with good genes. I'm simply making the world a more beautiful place. This is my autistic vocation.
man is there really no way to train certain things. I forgot it is impossible for someone to get better at heading the ball, that would be unrealistic.
Isaac Lewis
Role training covers just about everything though
Anthony Scott
Doing a SPL save on FM12. Rangers or someone else?
>can win the league without being forced to play in the Asian CL Pretty obvious really
Nathaniel Gray
...
Asher Bennett
>pre-season preview has Wellington in last place, 40-1 to win the league >win the regular season >win the finals series >sweep the season awards >Australian press calls this underachievement FM is not a game, it's a simulation
Three days off lads, just about to turn midnight. Reinstalling fm2012, bout to download my usual packs and get going. What team do I lead down a road to ruin? Was thinking maybe Scotland
Logan Gomez
With Scotland it would be more like ruin coming home.
Gavin Watson
12? Alania Vladikavkaz
Samuel Parker
Yes shag only one have got on steam. Haven't played any since. Cannae be arsed getting a new one. Idk what you are trying to say, some esoteric Inuit dialect by the looks of things
In other news: just using the right roles and barking at your players works, even with no instructions. OP is hailed as enlightening. Other user(s) point(s) out that it also means that 1) most of the options in the tactics creator don't mean shit or 2) the AI is absolute trash. It's likely that both are somewhat true.
Haven't played or had any time for a few months. A few months ago, I stopped short of playing the world cup after retiring from my Turkish club of super-regens, taking over the national team and winning the Euros. Now walked into the world cup semi final. Please wish me luck, I need this for my favourite regen, Cuneyt Arslan, a one-club man with a 7.83 average rating in 391 games. He's 34 and will probably retire after the tournament.
I am redeemed by the power of Russia. World cup winners 2046 with a 92nd minute winner.
Maybe the best part is that the MotM was picked up by a guy named Savio Iannacone. Born in Bari, been playing in Russia for the last 7 years. 30 years old with 5 caps, his international debut was in the world cup. He switched nationalities right before the tournament.
I don't think I'll get sacked even if I don't score a single goal for the rest of the season. Double promotion and me refusing to loan an entire squad and ending up with a bunch of Serie D scrubs doesn't help.
When do we first hear what epic features will be in FM2020
Jacob Myers
September/October is usual
Evan Butler
>FC Andorra will be playable in FM20 Oh shit
Evan Perry
any good letsplays or websites that explain how to properly play this game? I wanna start playing this right instead of downloading meme tactics and savescumming
Jacob Miller
>letsplays no
Jackson Ross
How the fuck do you sell players at lower leagues? There never seems to be a way of getting rid of your shitters. I can only sell youngsters desu
Easton Williams
Not really. The main thing to understand about FM is that it's a complicated game that's best played simply.
If you just want them gone, offer them mutual termination once a month until they leave.
Charles Turner
Just put good players in your team.
Thomas King
this is a semen-slurping game
Tyler Watson
Anyone know why my game might me swapping my AML and AMRs around throughout each game? Neither are suited to the other side they somehow get switched to and it's pissing me off
Dominic Sanders
theres an option called switch flanks somewhere in the tic tacs screen which makes your players do that
Justin Thompson
fuck this game desu
Caleb Taylor
With 16 finishing at that level he just wills the ball into the net.
Which of T/C is home/away?
You don't. You let players go on frees when they're bad and sign other players on frees when their contract demands are too much for their current clubs.
Caleb Moore
>be wrexham in fm15 >get promoted to league 2 in first season >spend entire transfer budget on 200 PA 17 year old columbian striker >he actually listens to my "you can be legend" >signs for £80k per annum >no release clause
Alexander Miller
picked up it tonight (it was on sale) and not played since 2015.
What do I need to know since 2015 which I played a lot back in the day.
Lincoln Davis
Also is there a good league for say, the entire English league system or such?
Also is there a decent tactics file so I can focus on being a good GM and get good play out of my players?
Colton Edwards
I am not looking for some super tactic, but is there a bog standard (it can be a 4-4-2) tactic that won't get my side killed so I can learn the game?
Also what are the meme/recommended starting teams (or just make your own bottom club and see if you can work your way up)
Asher Campbell
Getting killed is part of learning.
The basics would be to use a formation that suits the players you have. If you have 7 strikers for some reason then play three up front. No/limited wingers, then play narrow. No/limited fullbacks, then play three at the back instead. Also use logic in how you set up your instructions. You want them to play to your players' strengths. If your defenders are slow, don't play a high line (but be prepared to get wrecked by pace anyway). Finally, keep it simple. Don't overload your team with instructions. I think 7, give or take, is really all you really need.
As for clubs, it depends on what you want. Midtable teams in big leagues can be good starting points. You don't have the budgets that the big clubs do but you don't have their crazy high expectations either. Or you can manage a big club in a smaller nation. You're more likely to roll the league no matter what tactics you use depending on the league, but it's a good way to get a handle at working on low, tight budgets. Or you can just dive headfirst into Conference North/South and slog it out from there.
Joseph Adams
The most common tactical mistakes for new players are: 1. Playing without a holding midfielder. You usually need someone playing as a CM(D), DLP(D) or DM to stay in position and break up counter-attacks. 2. Using a zillion instructions. Keep it simple. 3. Exaggerating their tactical style. This is related to the previous point but it's a bit different. I recommend that you start off thinking about playing a balanced style then tweak it towards a style that suits the job or a type of football you like. 4. Using Ball-Playing Defenders. Just don't. 5. Assigning lots of playmaker roles. Having one guy that your team looks to pass to so that he can put in the killer ball is good and I can see reasons for two playmakers. Don't go past that in your first save. 6. Weird CD pairings like Stopper-Defend or Cover-Cover. In most cases, Defend-Defend does fine. 7. Thinking that players have to be assigned the roles and duties that the AssMan thinks they're best at. The AI is awful at Football Manager, don't take its advice. 8. Tweaking tactics after every match. This comes from thinking that the game is all about tactics. It's not. You can be tactically naive motivator and do very well in FM.
Hudson Thomas
>playing Bosnian CL qualifying game >play some literal who >beat them 11-1 >laugh >playing them now, didn't even drop my first team, just want to get double hattrick Wish me luck, lads. 4-0 within 9 mins.
Isaiah Smith
shit I have a bunch of wonderkids I found with FMscout in my shortlist so I can see where they go (since it's not only the 199 PA folks, but also lesser rated dudes from shit countries) well by dumbass must've added one to my transfer goals by accident and my moron of a DoF for once actually managed to sign him not only do I feel like a filthy cheater, I already have five good GKs across my three teams and I don't really want to sack any of them
>sign 16 year old from amateur sides U19's team >give him his first senior appearance a few months later against fierce league rivals >'seems complacent'
pissy little shit
Jacob Green
He's already made it, mate. What else is there to play for.
Hunter Long
>model professional >first competitive match, subbed in when we are 0-1 down >complacent How the fuck does it work?
Wyatt Jenkins
>scout estimated wage demands >8-11k >offer 10k + addons >negotiations immediately break down after he refuses to budge from 20k rising to 28k and a 15% yearly wage rise thanks scouts for ruining me getting a 5* CA teenage brazillian goalkeeper with your terrible opinions.
Justin Clark
Agents who waits for you to start the negotiations are cancer.
Jonathan Martin
If I don't desperately want the player, I bid £1 and if I don't like what I see I back out.
Thomas Edwards
Sounds like a good way of getting a yellow response from the agent.
Carson Gomez
>OneSoccer initially mentions that they would be able to broadcast Forge's home game against Antigua tomorrow night >hear nothing for weeks >now it seems they can't even do that because TSN holds the rights to the CONCACAF League in Canada >TSN appears to have no intent to actually show the match at all I understand they're the national carrier for MLS, but what the actual fuck. I assume something in their contract with MLS restricts broadcasting any other domestic "rival" league?
Joseph Peterson
That's literally what I just said. If I don't like their demands, I walk away. I only try for players I'm interested in.
Jaxson Reed
Only managed 6-0 by 70min so I quit. Dunno quite know how i won 11-1 away, 4-0 up by 9 mins then fail to score many after that.
Josiah Lee
Sorry.
Landon Carter
>the club now want twice as much money for him too gonna sack my scouts
Easton Wilson
Complacency. Remember that you're up 15-1 100 minutes into the tie at that point.
Parker Cooper
>he now wants three times as much in wages too what the fuck
Hunter Campbell
I replayed, won 8-1 and one of my players got his 6 goals. Apparently it is no longer an achievement. Also, for some reason, one of my players morale dropped to Abysmal... does that happen if they're tired and want to come off? I've never noticed it. He was on his hattrick and thought about keeping him on to get it.
Ethan Martin
>savegame is over 700MB big holy shit I think I loaded a few leagues too many
ty for this, you finally gave me the impetus to fuck off 19 and go back to 17 or 15
i'm honestly more disappointed with 19 than almost any fm i can remember. not because it's the worst (because it's definitely not especially by post-13 standards, and the whole AI being trash thing is true of every single edition ever) and on paper it all seems good even with a couple of transparent flaws (e.g. the new scouting system still being pretty dogshit) but there's something that just feels really off about it and i just cannot quite put my finger on it
i never went beyond 15 myself because I couldn't be bothered paying full price for basically no worthwhile new features. Why the fuck would I want mustaches, sexual orientation and simulated twitter?
Nathan Scott
>sign backup striker >sign first team striker >backup striker bitches that i have signed a replacement and refuses to believe i'll pick him good stuff
Ryan Kelly
So what is the best team to start off as for some obscure fun?
is it still Lyn in Norway or such?
Mason Turner
It never was.
Although Scandinavia is pretty comfy.
Jack Watson
>Two set-piece goals and a penulty >NOTHING from open play I wonder why I bother with trying to make tictacs. I don't even have a save to make.
That loss is going to haunt me all season. If i'm trying to achieve an unbeaten season is it best to go all out attack every game or try and eke 1-0 or 0-0 every game
FM is dumb in that parking the bus will 99% of the time not work as intended, and since you're not attacking you're not going to score - a balanced/control mindset and fluid playstyle is imo best
>21/29 in shots >3 goals that is some bs there
Lucas Thompson
>Viktoria Plzen and Mainz in the CL proper That's one hell of a future.
Jace Martin
I've got Dundalk in mine. Beat Prestatyn Town in the playoffs.
Hunter Evans
>21/29 in shots >3 goals >None from open play It's standard trollball 2bh as far as I'm concerned.
gee wiz I sure wonder who's responsible for my loss here
does LoD even do anything for the player manager? I have fucking 1 and I don't have issues (granted the vast majority of my players are milquetoast pussies and one that stood up to me didn't get an extension)
How important are loans? Is it worth loaning a youngster to the vanarama league if your training facilities are decent?
Adam Jackson
>How important are loans? That question means nothing without context. Are you looking for players to bring to your club or the opposite. How old is the youngster, how good is the youngster, how far into his development is he (both in attributes and personality), can you play him consistently, who are you loaning him to, what formation they use, would he be playing as a first team/key player...
There are many questions to ask to consider if it's worth it.
Chase Howard
>11/27 on target >3 goals from poorly defended set-pieces Just usual things.
>does LoD even do anything for the player manager? Go on holiday for a while and see how players will start complaining about the most asinine stuff when you're away and your AssMan has to deal with it. They still complain a lot, but just a tiny bit less when you have high LoD.
You don't, it improves with your Reputation as well as other Mental attributes. You don't really get a choice in it spreads. Well to be more accurate, you had one opportunity: that was when creating your manager. Now you're on your own.
>Making promises >EVER Just complain to SI forums.
Cooper Wilson
He's actually an important part of my team though. He was going to be first choice. He just came back from injury and I was rotating him during some bad fixture congestion.
Nathaniel Cooper
Are you herpes user?
Michael Robinson
no? its macca
Carter Butler
That's mitch, he's a brit
Luis Morris
Oh sorry, I came back to have a look to see if the same autists still posted here. You haven't let me down at least.
Justin Sanchez
i've only recently returned because i need a distraction from life tbf
Alexander Ramirez
Sorry my friend. Growing regens always helps
Jaxson Peterson
football manager is a depression enabler but i'll be fucked if my regens don't help
Jason Wilson
Does his importance to your team changes anything about using the broken promise module? You have to tries; the first one doesn't count.
>(Calm) Show some passion I've noticed that this shout often works but I find it hard to imagine.
Cooper Russell
What does /trb/ think of this guy? I have a hard time figuring him out - I can not understand why he is playing as well as he is, because to me he seems to have nothing other than pace.
Where do you think he is going? What is his potential? He is not even the best regen from my club imo but my God he performs. Just netted 5 times in a single game against Rennes
Well, he was sent off in the 3rd minute, what do you expect from his intelligence?
Liam Thomas
I like this kind of player a lot. Pace alone will take attackers a long way, and he's got some other desirable attributes. It doesn't surprise me that he's scoring a lot of goals (I suspect that he picks up a lot of second chances).
As for where he's going? Without seeing your Scouts' opinion of his Potential I don't know how much this kid is able to improve, but he has the Work Rate to do all that's expected of him.
Justin Green
>my only two RWBs collided on training, causing them to get 6+ months injuries each If the game didn't crash as I was moving a silver 3* from U19 as an only player that could play that position I may have committed die
(Aggressive) whenever I'm losing seems to work wonders, apparently I'm in some kind of S&M club
Actually contrary to this article pre-match Aggressive never worked well for me, only half-time and post-match; Calm seems best there in my experience
Juan Brown
>pre-match Aggressive never worked well for me Just use the worthy or the "take revenge" talk. If halfway through a double-legged fixture, just say "it's only half time". IME, pre-latch team talks don't do much in general unless there's some context to it. That's also why the Hairdryer works so often: there is context and there's almost always one thing to be angry about that the players will react to.
>Just use the worthy or the "take revenge" talk. That... Shouldn't work, considering we're 1001:1 chance of championship playing against back-to-back champs and current leaders, I thought the one about breaking the losing spell would be more fitting Well looks like FM is again subverting expectations because this actually got my team motivated unlike the other
It also works when the players you have are not the same as the ones who conceded the lost you have to take revenge on: for example, if the loss was two or three seasons ago and you revamped half the squad, shit still works. Team talks also work when players don't speak the same language you do.
I just had my best save ever and I played since CM03. Took Pro Vercelli in serie C and got instantly promoted twice and won the Serie A in first try, NO reloads. I took in Valzania as bosman from atalanta, he turned out GOAT. Loaned Pietro Pellegri and David Merola as strikers and they just tore it apart. I found some guy called Pedro Amador (Portuguese wingback) that was insane aswell.
The /trb/ database buffed Ireland but like, they weren't buffed to be CL top 16 good. They were buffed to be able to make the Europa top 32 on a good day.
if money's an issue why not get one of the older versions?
Joshua Martin
lads fast plz, what's the best facepack to use in fm14?
Luis Cruz
any
Benjamin Parker
Cut out faces facepack. Everything else is unironically shit
Alexander Young
actually this , I meant that you can use any facepack for any version of the game, you don't have to find a fm14 one. It's also something you can add at any time to your save so idk why it has to be fast.
Jack Fisher
I'll be leaving for the countryside tomorrow morning and I won't have a reasonable internet connection for a while.
I'm managing Suduva right now in the 22-23 season and I've beaten the Maltese Champion and Basel in the 1st and 2nd round of the CL qual. respectively. What I've noticed tho is that I don't get any money for beating them, which I did in the EL qualifiers. Do I get all the money alltogether when I lose?
Evan Cruz
Nothing, FM is shit at using it.
Jonathan Morris
love when you're about to play the most important game in the club's history and your starting GK gets a sports hernia the day before
Anthony Ramirez
>Do I get all the money alltogether when I lose? Correct. You can check in the rules tab of the CL and it'll show you how much you get paid out if you were to lose in each round.
4 months left, been off fm for almost a year now, what a hell
Kayden Cruz
Perfect time to pick it back up again.
Colton Gutierrez
even tough its on sale im gonna wait for 20
Carter Brooks
So, is there any way to replace the faceinthegame list of names with the banned names? I want a regen named something like Mike Hunt or Osama bin Laden
Mason Lee
One of my players just got a double hernia. Didn't even know that was possible. Out for 4-5 weeks.
just add faces manually for your team, who gives a shit about the others
Brandon Wood
First losses in my Bosnian game gonna happen now. I'm in the CL and my group is Juventus, Real Madrid, Sporting and me. Just qualifying gave me £17m so I bugged the board and they improved my youth + training, which will be 16 each when they're done. Also means no more forcing me to sell players.
Alexander Sanders
Should be able to nick at least a point from that group.
Luis Reed
Anyone been in this situation before? What's gonna happen?
most likely you'll get deducted points, the administration will try to balance books to at least not go negative - expect sales and firing, even possibly yourself, unless somebody buys the club and injects them with money
Isaiah Russell
>winning 4-0 >draw 4-4 I rage quit. I hate this game.
Christopher Morales
did llm get harder or something
feels so much harder to find players that are decent and willing to play for you (even on loan)
Levi Flores
Where are you managing? In my brief foray with FM18 I had an endless cycle of players joining a Conference Regional side on 4-week trials.
Landon Ross
england
got to league 2 by way of a large flukey run into the VNL playoffs and i can't attract a single player that's actually league 2 quality
plus my scouts find absolutely nothing worth signing
it sucks
Asher Butler
does that hurt my reputation? otherwise I might as well resign now I guess
>playing my first CL game in my Bosnian save >against Sporting >2-0 up >corner >cross comes in, player heads the ball at far post >Keeper saves >lands to same player >he kicks the ball, literally half a yard away from the line >the ball instead curves and hits the defender on the OPPOSITE post >ball then bounces off the defender back to the original striker >striker slide tackles it in >VAR rules it offside because the defender was in an offside position How the fuck did he curve the ball half a yard from the goal line to the other side of the post? It wasn't a pass. I mean, glad I won 2-0 and all, but that annoyed me.
warned you mang, they'll cut whenever possible you're on a sinking ship, look at Bolton right now, they're fucked - long-term you can survive (look at Palace or Hearts) but it'll be painful rn
The most decorated local club in my region had to shut down due to no budget, the fans tried to bully the local gov into giving them more money for life support, but since they failed to secure promotion into 4th tier, the basketball team of the same name has no issues finding sponsors in the region and a women's team is in top 3 in the country, they were told no - now the club from my 100k city next to us lmao
finished 8th with palace and my board were fuming because i promised europa then it turns out >arse, who finished second and reached the europa league final, were to be penalised for financial breaches the ultimate banter club come through once again, imagine the shitposting
Ryder Thomas
>promising the board europe as palace very bold
William Thompson
How fitting for Crippling Disappointment to make the cup final and go out with an utter whimper
we were 4th in jan then i lost my gk and both my fullbacks and we TANKED got to final of the carabao cup tho
Logan Stewart
does anyone know if is there a way, no matter how complex it is, to display/show up ALL player's names during a match again? i mean, how the fuck am i supposed to cast my games without that? i think they removed it in fm18 and i fucking want it back
this one? it seems it doesn't change the match engine so it's more of the same. I need the option to display all the player's names during a game, instead of having only the name of the player with the ball showing up.
Ryan Butler
Drew 1-1 with Juventus. I'm currently first due to GD.
Landon Morales
What do you think, lads?
Had to overpay a little early cause I was worried teams from other leagues would find him soon
>man u signing pastore 6months after he left psg sounds about right
Josiah Richardson
Alright lads I want a Mihajlovic-tier free kick taker. Scoring 28 free kicks in the the Serie A, in just over 300 appearances, means he scored one every 11 games (roughly)
So because SI is fucking retarded and you're lucky to see one free kick goal per season, what attributes do I look for?
it doesn't matter, i've seen guys with 10 free kick rating and 10 long shots score screamers from 40 meters out and i've had guys like Kolarov with 20 free kick taking never score one in their whole career.
Parker Jenkins
where do you think we are?
Nolan Thompson
>Ask Captain to welcome 3 different signings >by the time I ask him to welcome the last one he gives me the "I'm not prepared to go over this subject again" spiel Why does the game do this
it was possible until they removed it in fm18 idk if it's possible to get it back touching the fmf files
Parker Collins
This was the answer I was worried about.
When did free kicks stop working? I know for a fact they worked in FM13.
Jaxson Nelson
Didn't mean to reply with image. Anyway, Freekicks are busted. I'm going to practice with an editior. Make 20 Freekicks, 20 Technique (which seems to be a major thing as it is trained when you learn freekicks), 20 Long Shots, 20 Finishing, 20 Composure and 20 Decisions and perfect with both feet and see if they score regular.
Ayden Mitchell
Add the long range free kicks and curls ball ppms also. I remember a few threads saying flair effect free kicks also, but if thats true, its full blown retarded from SI.
The best free kick takers have an accuracy average of something like 70%. And a conversion rate of at least 10%. In FM, even half of that would be a glorious achievement.
I remember in FM10 and 11, the conversion rate was realistic, but they were always curled around the wall, left foot on left side and right foot on right side. In 13 they were fine. But I didn't play between 13 and 18, and now they are completely fucked.
Does anybody know when freekicks became broken?
Joshua Turner
Should I do it in the Premiership or what? I'd just sign a regen, make it 200CA/200PA and edit those stats, let it raise the rest itself.
Jack Stewart
My players have stopped improving massively. Why? I have the highest rating for training in my league, I have great level training facilities. My training starts at minimum 3.5 stars. What do I do?
Henry Perez
could be your players are already way stronger than average for your league. level of play plays a big part
Eli Lewis
Oh... might explain why they burst up after International games. What can I do then? I'm in the CL (3rd season) and managing to do OK. (Beat Sporting 2-0, Drew 1-1 with Madrid, 1-1 with Juventus, 5-3 win against Juventus). So I guess that'll improve them? I don't want to lose these players. They're regens I signed in first season and they've improved so well.
Angel Gonzalez
>own goal in the CL >red card in the league I knew taking Phil Jones to /trb/ was a good idea. Perfect partnership for Meme Master.
Nolan Gray
Playing in the europe will definitely help. IIRC if you watch their development tab it will mention that their progress has been helped by gaining experience at a higher level than before.
If you're extremely patient and you consistently perform well in europe the reputation of your domestic league will go up as well
Jackson Lopez
Yeah it isn't saying that any more, sadly. They are wonderkids or were. They're raping it up. Amazing signings (well three were, the other was a golden generation striker youth candidate). Annoyingly, there is a youth player I have, another candidate, who has good stats but won't improve areas I want despite specific training. Also my club constantly says 'Need more depth in attack' but we have two FW's in the subs. I signed another regen ST so hopefully it'll fix it.
I qualified from the group of death with two games to spare! Sporting, Juventus and Madrid plus me. I qualified! Still not lost in this save, but might do now I've qualified kek.
Julian Rogers
If you have a Complete Forward; do they count as a 'Target Man' for the tactic option? I have a CM with Attack stance who is a good assister, but dunno if it'll go to them if I do 'to playmaker'.
Josiah Garcia
>FM at 66% discount LADS, I NEED YOU Should I do it?
Adam Turner
i just caved in and bought it for 12 euros on some keysite
Lucas Baker
i was tempted too but we are 3 months away from fm20 so i'd say meh.
It seems to be a bigger problem in the higher leagues. In League 1 I had a regen with Free kicks: 17, no good ppms, and he averaged about 2 a season. But in any of the major top divisions, even a god-like regen will bag 1 every 3 years or so. It can't be the wall, or the quality of the goalkeeper, because 90%+ of them are off target anyway. I've also noticed that having a player "interfere with the wall" doesn't seem to do anything. Either the player isn't anywhere near the wall, or blocks the shot himself.
Hudson Stewart
>use 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 >want to use 2 strikers and wingbacks, 3 centrebacks >have a shit load of goat regen wingers ready in the next 2-3 seasons wat do?
Lincoln Bennett
loan them out until clubs buy them for £20m
Brody Wright
>get promoted to the Danish Superliga >mfw reading their relegation and European allocation rules
Reminder that even getting FM'd is not a valid reason to go and shoot up a Walmart.

>giving an Euro chance to a team from the relegation group Belgium also does that, what the hell
Also for 'fun' relegation rules go to CONMEBOL leagues like Argentinian or to Liga MX, where the relegation is decided by an average of your last few seasons >the last relegated team in MX had negative points in Clausura 2019 kek
Benjamin Thomas
>giving an Euro chance to a team from the relegation group I thought I was reading this shit wrong when I saw that kek
I'm all for quirky rules but this really gives the noggin' a floggin'
>why are goalies in fm19 so op? It's not just a FM19 speciality: most recent FMs see far too many shots, and far too many saves.
They don't work in FM18. Otherwise in FMs priors to that, "Curls Ball" is insanely powerful for FK takers; moreso than any other attribute or PPM. Dunno about FM19 since everyone seems able to bend it like Beckham.
Didn't even know you could mod injuries as well lmao Though in hindsight the AIDS one should've made me figure it out before this one >only a little over 9 years to rehabilitate suicide That's some sturdy player there
Thomas Foster
Austria does it as well. The team that finishes first in the relegation group plays whoever finishes fifth in the championship group and the winner takes the final EL berth.
Ayden Morris
Jesus fuck For all the shit our Ekstraklasa does at the very least they're competent enough to not implement dumb shit like this >Sturm Graz only won on away goals If I were an Anderlecht or St. Pölten fan I'd be fuming
Mason Moore
oh and also Czechs have is 'great' >7-10 go to Czech EL play-offs >1-6 go to a Champ group >1-2 go to CL, 3-4 to EL >5th plays the winner of the 7-10 playoffs for the last EL berth >6th get jackshit Last season the team that finished 5th was knocked out by the regular season's 7th, who didn't get to play-offs due to losing 1-2, 0-1 to the 6th - huge F for Slovan, who was a better team and got shafted due to it
Nathan Thompson
>Buy first FM in 5 years >Its the one with no free kicks
I want my money back, Miles, you fucking ugly cum-stained prick.
Yeah I know its a meme role but I have guys who can play it and enough defenders that it would be possible to play like a 5-2-3wb and a libero would definitely help with only having the 2 in midfield.
Ayden Walker
i once got a SW regen! i swear!
Asher Rivera
>its a meme role It's not a meme role because /trb/ said so, it's a meme role because it's fucking useless. The only thing it does is sprint forward when the team has the ball, then sprint backwards when the team loses it. It doesn't participate in actual play since it's always running back and forth, teammates don't seek itout since it doesn't have the playmaker bias, and it destroys the offside trap. Sweeper does work defensively even with the issue with the offside trap; Libero is just shit. Play a Regista or a DLP(S) if you want a creative DM.
Liam Jackson
>it's a 1.5* CA fringe player gets mad he's not registered when transfer listed with 6 months left on his contract episode
Gavin Jones
If only football was more like the military than TV drama.
...Maybe gotta take a ride to North Korea.
Tyler Thomas
Anyone else here play OotP baseball?
Ayden Diaz
>upgrade youth recruitment and youth coaching as much as possible before finances spook the board >get routinely fed division breaking regens every season
>have world class CM regen >had for years >get shitty £3.5M offer for him >club auto accepts it despite him being world class and worth x10 that much >won't let me protest it How am I meant to do anything if they keep getting rid of my best players? I have quality youths but they're 2 seasons away from being good enough. Now have no choice.
Landon Diaz
Quitting the game. It's boring. Bosnia run over.
Hudson Hernandez
>upgrade youth recruitment >not possible >try to sign someone good enough for the league >not possible >loan Torrasi >he can't score from midfield >sign a poacher >he doesn't score >no win in 11 matches
Luke Perry
>wengers
Jose Hernandez
Just realise I can use FMTRE to prevent the sale by editing the players MV to £100m so if he even gets bought it'll be for a proper value. Why I can't boost his MV I do not know. He went up to £6.5m just by moving to Spurs.
Yes, extremely. The AI would spam offers 3 times a day and did it for two weeks, I set it to auto-reject and boom the board forced it. I protested they went 'get fucked'.
Julian Gutierrez
Mate I don't care any more, I'm sick of the AI doing shit that wouldn't happen in real life. They wouldn't sell their best player for £3.5m. £30.5m? Sure. I'm not losing him because the games definition of market value uses an equation based on wage and the guy refuses to sign a new contract. I'd rather his contract expired than lose him for £3.5m. I was getting £3m per CL win, why the FUCK would I care?
Gabriel Cruz
>first ever champions league knockout >lose on penalties kill me
>They wouldn't sell their best player for £3.5m Clearly you're not aware of how buying players from Eastern European clubs works.
And assuming you are as financially stable as you claim, selling off one player for somewhat cheap may be the opening that allows you to offer players actual wages and gain the"world class" value you want them to have. Back in 14 I refused to sell off anyone in Iceland and wasn't paying players more than 15k/w. After I left, the new guy sold a handful of players and started buying (worse) players for millionswhile giving them upwards of 90k/w instead.
A short term loss for a much longer term gain.
Luke Murphy
IT'S FINALLY OVER AFTER LOSING 4 TIMES AFTER 90 MINUTES IN THE LAST 6 MATCHES AND THIS TERRIBLE STREAK
>hey wouldn't sell their best player for £3.5m LUL Joel Valencia, a star player of the current Champ Piast Gliwice, with 65 caps, 9 goals and 7 assists, the MVP of the last season, was sold to Brentford for 2 mil euro Or the last season's MVP, Carlitos, the Golden Boot of that season with 36 games, 24 goals and 7 assists? 450k (!) euro Or Pio Pio Piątek, who was so beast that season that he barely lost Golden Boot and Canadian despite being sold in winter? nope, 4.5 mil euro Or Lewy? Surely Lewandowski, a superstar in Poland at the time, would warrant a high fee? 4.75 mil euro The most expensive transfer in the history of the league was Southampton paying a ridiculous 6 mil euro for Bednarek (well, old transfers like Olisadebe, Żurawski or Błaszczykowski may have them beat by inflation, but you get the picture)
The Polish teams somehow are always in need of money, the biggest transfer within the league was Sobiech for 1 mil euro in 2010 - along with Kosowski and Żurawski for the same price, but in 199-fucking-9
Hunter Cooper
>the biggest transfer within the league was Sobiech for 1 mil euro in 2010 - along with Kosowski and Żurawski for the same price, but in 199-fucking-9 This is fucking wild. Do Legia and Lech just sign the best players not on either roster on frees every summer?
Ryder Smith
What's even wilder is that the very first recorded top transfer, Boniek to Juventus in 1982, was already for more than the then-equivalent of a million euro
They majorly get their players from a Youth->Reserves->Main chain, although they also like to get some cheap stuff/rejects from better leagues; if they have to get someone from within the Polish system, they do so for chump change (though funnily enough the prices seem to have stagnated if not declined, Lewy after being the Golden Boot of 3rd and 2nd tier and declined by Legia was bought 380k euro all the way back in 2009) Also, Bosman's law; so, so many free transfers hell just look transfermarkt.com/legia-warschau/alletransfers/verein/255transfermarkt.com/lech-poznań/alletransfers/verein/238
next season in and wage budget is now down to 8k but we're out of administration.
I finally figured out that I can loan good players from first division clubs with NO contribution. At this rate I'm confident I can just keep stalling here until I get a job offer somewhere else.
Also for some reason some of my players have been willing to extend their contracts for lower wages.
question, lads: what should i look for in an overseas affiliate? anything more than the usual good facilities and similar playing style?
Grayson Barnes
Whether they're in a money making country. Good touring opportunities! Or a country with decent youth rating since you'll have perfect scouting knowledge from them; may be worth adding their league as playable is possible.
Kevin Reed
time to get EU nationality (belgium, croatia) high reputation country and good youth facilities (argentina, brazil)
Colton Martinez
>scheduling fuckup so I'm playing the /trb/ league final with all but 10 players on international duty oh boy here we go
Cameron Torres
>they have a full squad available what the fuck
Bentley Lee
national team manager was bribed
Hunter Evans
The Jair boys are all in their 50s and retired from internationals. I had no chance.
Just want to let you fucks know that you need to attend a Halifax Wanderers home game. That is all.
>ERROR | TRANSFERMARKT
Could be worse.
Oliver Torres
They're actually managed by Mango after Joe got sacked. The downside of this is Mango has 190CA and has all the managerial traits to sign a squad of young GOATs so their team has an average age of 22 and they're all 3.5* CA and up
My youth team is full of great talents due to high level youth facilities. Not good enough to break into first team but maybe if I play them regularly they'll do it. Still, out of Europe in maiden year.
Your team is full of talent due to using FMRTE my friend
Nicholas Scott
>got my dad into FM last week >over at my folks place today >dad starts showing me his team >pulls pic related out from underneath all his scribblings of formations and scouted players >"I got this off the internet, it's supposed to be the best tactic out there." >says I can use it for my team too
Ok lads, started a career with frosinone (serie A). First save since FM 16. First season i have noticed that selling players is impossible. Any trick?
Jose Nelson
Based.
Aaron Wood
which leagues do you have loaded?
Eli Murphy
Italian serie A-B and C Which leagues should it put?
Cameron Diaz
load as many as your pc can handle. the more, the better.
when it comes to transfer market, ai will be more active/aggressive in playable leagues, so it's no wonder you're not receiving transfer offers, if you only have italy loaded.
i'd consider loading at least top 5 countries, especially if you're planning on a long term save. clubs from loaded leagues are more active and get more regens, so in your case, italy would eventually take over the world.
Fucking hell sorry guys, I know your offence is shit and you're at the other end of the table but that was kinda excessive Gonna need the morale though as next game is be-or-not in EL
Recommend me a nice team to make one last save , brehs
Bentley Turner
yeah I don't get the lack of diacritics, the game clearly supports them since they show up in player/staff names and such At least it's not Legia 'Warsaw' lmao
Dalum
Austin Ortiz
>Legia Warszawa (Polish: [ˈlɛɡʲja varˈʂava]), known in English as Legia Warsaw But it is!
Julian Torres
Wait, it isn't.
Christian Martin
on the topic of names, I just got reminded by a pasta I've read how when I was little we had a trend of using the cities added on to team names (ofc unless they were already there), which made for monstrosities like Cracovia Kraków, Arsenal London/Chelsea London/Tottenham Hotspurs London, Juvantus Torino/Lazio Roma or my favourite Betis Sevilla (desu both Łódź clubs are also tautologies guilty of that, Widzew is a district and ŁKS literally means Łódź' Sport Club)
also the day after I got five invites to an interview, including Saint-Etienne which I swear I just declined because they're tanking and likely to hit administration
Tyler Hughes
>ŁKS literally means Łódź' Sport Club Redundant fucks.
Still love me some Sporting Lisbon 2bh
Jose Murphy
Not a fan of drawing the chimney corner challenge and the san marino challenge in the same fixture congestion cup group stage. I'm ending dreams.
If a player refuses to sign a new contract due to the quality of team not matching his ambitions, how do you fix this? I'm using youths to fix my issues by bunging them in my youth team with good coaching for a season or two and then promiting them... which apparently neither counts as 'strengthing' my team, nor 'adding depth' or improving quality of the team. I don't want to lose these guy because in four years he'll gain nationality and no longer be foreign (4 foreign limit).
Luke Garcia
try offering them a contract every week and praying
Nathaniel Reed
I do. Always says not matching his ambitions. He's still got a few years left. I had hoped getting to KO stage of CL would have convinced him but apparently not. Not sure what the 'calculation' is.
Hudson Cruz
>under recently signed full-time contract >they have the audacity to offer him a trial Who do they think they are?
>playing my Bosnian custom database i DL >win title before I kick-off a match due to that team losing (100% record in the league two seasons in a row so far) >win the match 5-1 >interivew >oh you must be glad winning it >yes >Congratulations on winning the Bosnian Cup for the 2nd time in a row! What? I didn't win the Bosnian Cup. The Cup is a two-legged final a few weeks away. This keeps happening, the AI keeps saying this shit. It happens even in 'proper' databases. Is there a fix?
Isaiah Baker
Some of the most odd transfers I've ever seen on a save.
>tfw in my save Arsenal signed Tah, Tierney, Mammana and Ryan Bertrand for defence. The latter they bought for £38m played for 14 games one season, 30 odd the next, then loaned out next season. >tfw signed Chiesea for £68m after signing Gelson Martins for £28.5m the season before and signed Obando for £2.8m and loaned him out... they also signed João Félix for £44m Funny how Arsenal AI does better than Arsenal IRL. Tah, Tierney, Mammana and Bertrand (granted, not all same year) is an amazing set of buys. If only they'd get Tah and Tierney IRL.
Not sure how to find out meme signings like that. I know that City signed José Giménez for £108m and only played him 17 times in his first season.
Justin Howard
Ronaldo signed with City on my save
And it's hard playing in the Scottish league. All my players want buyout clauses. I end up having to give their agents high fees to get rid of their low release clauses. Just lost my best defender because of this.
Brody Long
>play FM19 >make bid for player >it is way above MV >they reject >ask for a suggestion >okay here is what we want >fuck me it is 10,000% more than I expect, but I guess I can... >NON-NEGOTIABLE: 40% SELL ON % or >PARTIALLY-NEGOTIABLE: 30%-50% SELL ON % Not profit. Sale. Which essentially makes buying any maybe world class, maybe good quality and sell on class players worthless. Not giving 30%-50% away after paying £2M for a £9,000 Market Value player. The worst thing? It is forever locked into the transfer. Even if you pull out and try later.
Aaron Wilson
>mfw my U19, with amazing regens in a few places won the U19 Champions League Shame we won't win it next year as I promote the best.
Alexander Clark
Sounds shitty.
I'll enjoy the comfiness of FM12
Gabriel Robinson
>just won U19 cup >Celebrate a Double! I won the U19 League, U19 Champions League and U19 Cup! Tempted to sell one of my good first team regens just so I don't have to keep him as a sub.
Thomas Thompson
>Sobociński As any self-respecting Polish player in my save he decided to force a move to Championship as soon as possible; it also ended rather realistically, fortunately I snatched him back Currently waiting for another young player that went to HSV, only to play a few games in reserves - they're a bit smarter and have loaned him out though
