threadly reminder that they still don't have a permanent stadium deal, their temporary stadium which is 20 miles from Miami is already behind schedule so they will need a third stadium to host their opening weeks of the season, and they also don't have any agreement for that temporary temporary stadium but are looking as far away as Palm Beach

Garber should take into account the pathetic excuse of an event that is the State Fair. a boring flatland city that is a flyover even for carneys and freaks
he should look at the ability of a city to host a great fair in his judgment and then would have to decide that either San Diego, Ventura, or Paso Robles should get a franchise
MLS was the league US Soccer Fed was forced to create to get WC, after long and acrimonious debate about creating Pyramid or Baseball-style monopoly
MLS struggled and in 1999 was taken over by Don Garber, who's campaign idea to the board was to replace the gimmick aspects of MLS and make it more like NFL. This program largely failed, and by early 2000s MLS was a shell of a company on the verge of collapse
2002, Don Garber creates a broadcast rights and distribution company called Soccer United Marketing. Using friendships with now-known corrupt FIFA officials like Chuck Blazer and the financial support of the Anshutz, this new company, in it's very first deal, gets the rights to the 2002 and 2006 World Cups
Post-2002 WC, MLS began to rely on residual enthusiasm from USMNT games, and eventually bought out the rights to Men's teams games, then rights to the Mexican team, up to today where SUM owns the rights to CONCACAF and COMNEBOL
Since 2002, SUM executives have taken more and more positions within USSF. Sunil Gulati served simultaneously as President of US Soccer and as a executive in SUM for over a decade. Nearly all members of USSF Board are current or former SUM employees
Don Garber, as head of MLS, serves as chair on the committee in USSF that determines marketing deals, and that committee has routinely awarded lucrative contracts to SUM, which is headed by Don Garber, who makes well over $15m a year from this arrangement
Sebastian Murphy
interesting. thanks for this.
Asher Brooks
>jews doing jew shit IMAGINE MOI SUPOISE
Jason Ward
MLS employs a number of staff writers, many of whom have gone on to become full fledged journalists at regular publications. US soccer media rarely talks about SUM-USSF relationship.
SUM has a lucrative business with Mexican Football, making much more money on broadcast rights to Mexico games than any other. USSF has routinely organized games and tournaments to cater to the Mexican team, including the controversial decisions to host USMNT vs Mexico games in stadiums where Mexico has a home advantage in the crowd. SUM marketing explicitly states it intends to grow support for the Mexican team in the US, at the expense of the USMNT.
USSF fired Jurgen Klinsmann in 2017, after years of disagreement about the worthiness of MLS players in international games and only months after Don Garber gave a rare press conference to criticize the head coach for urging his players move to Europe.
USSF's youth development plan explicitly favors MLS team's and was until the last few years, prohibitively expensive for most Americans. USSF also refuses to force MLS to pay non-MLS academies for transfers, in direct violation of FIFA and CAS rules
In the same year that Youth Participation rates reached a low point this century, USSF hired Bruce Arena, an MLS original, who criticized foreign based players and selected a team that relied heavily on MLS players. That team missed the World Cup.
SUM and USSF are currently being sued by Relevant Sports, which organizes most club friendlies in North America, because SUM has leaned on USSF to prevent fair competition as MLS seeks to grow its own club friendly tournaments like MLS All Star and Leagues Cup
Jayden Cooper
There is nothing more embarrassing than an American leftist soccer fan. Stop embarrassing our neo-nazi EH PUTO league with your faggotry, user.
Josiah Price
Upon firing Klinsmann in 2016 (not 17, woo have time flies), the former Commerical and Marketing Officer of USSF, who worked along SUM for over a decade, was appointed as Technical Director for USMNT. In this role, the former CCO began a reorganization of the men's team. The failure of 2018 put pressure on the USSF Board, forcing Gulati out (even though he technically already should have been forced out due to term limits). Gulati was given a new cermonial role to allow him to stay on FIFA's ExCo, where is he's arguably 3rd most powerful person in FIFA.
The new Technical Director created a GM-style system, where any future failures would fall on the GM and not the board. The GM eventually hired a unsuccessful and unimpressive but MLS faithful coach named Gregg Berhalter.
The Technical Director is now set to take over USSF as CEO in the next year or so. His name is Jay Berhalter.

No, watch an interview, dude is like some kind of weird golem. He forced them into his meme formation for the first several matches despite them all clearly being super unhappy with it and completely wrecked their confidence, now he's being an utter retard in how he's handling Pity Martinez, wouldn't be surprised to see Pity fuck off to Argentina or Mexico first chance he gets. He also keeps trying to play fuckers like Parkhurst out wide (who shouldn't be playing at all, but especially not at wingback/fullback) and always with an absurdly high line which is super vulnerable to balls over the top or around the back, which is overworking our backline terribly, they usually look shattered by the end of a match.
He's a meme, but he might end up being good. He has good creativity, vision, and passing. But he's not athletic, and is work rate is shit. Maybe he'll get better at that as he grows, but I doubt it. He seems like he'll be a very good player if you put him in the exact right situation, with the right teammates around him.
>fixes lolno, he exploits them. More than half his goals come on headers where he climbs up on the shoulders of the defender. No call because the league needs him to succeed for $$$.

I mean, it's a somewhat fair point. Whether Zlatan is right or not, does anyone take what he says seriously? He's mostly just playing a character, anyway.

ORLANDO - MLS commissioner Don Garber told ESPN FC "it's not remotely alarming" to him that that expansion deals for the cities of St. Louis and Sacramento haven't been finalized. But citing the capital outlay needed to fund an MLS expansion team -- which Garber said was between $550 million and $650 million -- the commissioner confirmed that the deals have not yet been completed.
"We had come out of a board meeting with the authority to try to finalize deals in both of those markets," Garber told ESPN FC in an exclusive interview. "We have not yet done that. That's not concerning to me. It just means that the investment stake required to come into MLS, that process of finalizing deals is getting more and more complicated.
Garber said that the expansion fee for teams 28 and 29 remains at $200 million. He added that representatives from both the St. Louis and Sacramento ownership groups would attend Wednesday's All-Star Game. A league spokesperson confirmed representatives from Charlotte, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Raleigh and San Diego would also be in attendance.
"There will be no shortage of opportunities for us to determine the right timetable to bring the 30th team into MLS," Garber said.
Garber indicated that he was in Las Vegas as recently as two weeks ago, where he met with both ownership groups and Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, while also touring a stadium site.
"We have been [looking at] Las Vegas for many, many years, and now there seems to be a bit more energy," Garber said

just asspained, there was nothing wrong with any of it. the kids wanted to play in Germany, they signed with German teams.
the Kleibans just told them the truth which is that they needed to get out of the MLS system if they wanted to become as good as possible and that pissed MLS off. there wasn't any transfer payments or anything, and the kids don't make much money, so its not as if the Kleibans were even benefiting financially
Landon Rogers
Nope, all they were "guilty" of was taking kids from LA Galaxy's academy - kids that those two discovered - and basically redpilled them and told them to fuck off from MLS asap. One of them works as an agent and gets commission - like how Alex Mendez got sent to Freiburg and later to Ajax all because of Brian - but everything they do is legal. It's only MLS that loses out obviously and thus MLS and their shills like Doyle are triggered by the Kleiban brothers.
Cameron Rogers

not to defend Gary or anything, but it isn't clear he's making much money off these couple of kids, it seems their main income is from coaching gigs
