>be Greek, mostly interested in soccer >start playing basketball for first time at 14 years old >couldn't even make a layup when he started playing >a few years later he's the NBA MVP
This literally never happens in soccer but you hear about these type of stories all the time in American sports.
That's why I think Americans are so convinced that giganiggas with fast 40 yard sprint times and big muscles would dominate soccer, because in American sports physical attributes really do take presidency over skill, finesse and sport IQ.
>This literally never happens in soccer but you hear about these type of stories all the time in American sports. You're not speaking any truth Americans don't know, faggot.
Basketball and American football are more athlete centric than other sports (sans QB, which you wouldn't be able to take up at 14 and expect professional success), while Ice Hockey and Baseball require familiarity from a young age if you're to have any hope of success.

>baseball MJ and tebow picked it up after their retirement. Doesn't seem that difficult
Joseph Anderson
Um, Tebow was an all-state high school player scouted by Major League teams. And he's the worst player in the minor leagues, signed as publicity stunt.
Baseball was Jordan's first sport as a kid and he was also the worst player in the minor leagues.
Both were publicity stunt signings to boost minor league ticket sales. Like Usain Bolt playing in the A-League.
Jaxon Wood
MJ and Tebow were/are in the minors as publicity signings.
Tebow has a .163 batting average this season lmao
Lincoln Perez
>This literally never happens in soccer
because way more people grow up playing soccer than other sports because it's popular everywhere already

Yeah, and I don't know why people think Tebow and Jordan "picked up baseball" for the first time after their retirement. Tebow's high school coaches felt he was better at baseball than football, and he was scouted by the Angels. Jordan threw 45 consecutive scoring innings in HS.
And both were/are embarrassments when they tried to make a run at the sport. Jordan had a .556 OPS in AA. Abysmal.
Kayden Roberts
>apehoop >real sport lmao they went to africa and hired some 50 year old lanklet called manute and he was one of the best players on his team
Colton Rivera
Manute Bol was a great dude but he wasn't actually that good of an NBA player
Ayden Bennett
There's like a million athletic African dudes who get drafted for being crazy athletic and most of them fail miserably and you never hear about them again. Bismack Biyombo and Tanguy Ngombo are the norm, not Giannis. Giannis' ability to learn basketball quickly is exceptional and weird.
Luis Sanchez
You suck, idiot. Here's the real truth, having traveled the world and attended education abroad: play US vs. World in pickup basketball >US players humiliate foreign rivals, literally to the point where Yuros and Southameribros forfeit or quit keeping score before the game is through play US vs. the World in soccer/futsol >A closely contested game where the ultimate victor is always in doubt. The Americans never quit and the foreigners are pushed to the brink of their skills
I've seen the above story played out hundreds of times. And fuck off with your racism you coward.
Colton Mitchell
>Stephen Curry >James Harden >Luka Doncic >Kyrie Irving >Nikola Jokic If you actually watch basketball you'll know there are a lot of players which are more skilled instead of just being atheletic freaks. Michael Jordan, the greatest player of all time, also actually relied more on his skill than just his athletecism.
Jose Lewis
>A closely contested game where the ultimate victor is always in doubt HAHAHAHAHAHA Mexico comfortably beat you in Gold Cup with a mixed line-up
Jaxon Perry
he's right here though, American sports take no skill whatsoever Giannis doesn't have a clue about basketball, he's just a good athlete. Which is why he'll never be truly top tier.
Nicholas Kelly
>comfortably We missed 3 sitters lol. Yeah we suck but it wasn't like Mexico didn't have to work.

>American sports take no skill whatsoever The greatest athlete in your country's modern history can't even hit a ball off a tee.
Daily reminder that a team with players that are/were considered world class like Lukaku, De Bruyne, and Hazard not to mention Kompany and Origi were taken to extra time by team USA in the World Cup.
Andrew Price
pay denbts
Isaiah Kelly
>"American sports take no skill" >"Giannis will never be top tier because he's just a good athlete" So it does take skill?
Aaron Powell
Funny how Europoors say "American sports," as if there's European "sports" to compare them to. European sports is just soccer. And don't lie that you watch tennis, rugby, etc. You don't.
>giganiggas with fast 40 yard sprint times and big muscles would dominate soccer Lmao probably only in the Premier League, in other leagues like La Liga or Serie A you require much more than being black and sprinting fast.
Dominic Wood
I watch international rugby games desu
Jace Howard
>(sans QB, which you wouldn't be able to take up at 14 and expect professional success)
Not true whatsoever. Below college level football relies FAR more heavily on the ground game than passing. Playing QB for a Junior League team is hardly indicative of success at higher levels because most QBs won't even throw the ball more than once a game until they reach high school.
Blake Ortiz
His game is so graceless and ugly though. He travels on every possession and gets ref protection because of NBA marketing.
Aiden Brooks

just because you have to watch ads every fucking 2 seconds doesnt make your sport globally important.
>A closely contested game where the ultimate victor is always in doubt. The Americans never quit and the foreigners are pushed to the brink of their skills
Doubt that, brazillians in general are too good in Football to lose to americans.

Gringos I've seen playing football here are fucking awful, like kid tier awful
Colton Diaz
Lmao, lose weight fat retard
Evan Hernandez
no one is denying that basketball is a non-sport all you have to do is be 7 ft tall and hit the gym. Maybe you dont even need the gym, look at Durant coming out of college.
