I don't think that there's anything you can do about players recruiting each other. And I don't think anyone wants the NBA to be able to seize teams' phones and e-mails and shit to investigate tampering. So if you're not going to do any of those things, I don't know what other changes you can actually make.
Maybe they change contract structures in the next CBA meeting but to be honest I don't even know how that solves the problem. Clearly, players are willing to leave money on the table to go where they want. So it's just, what are you supposed to do?

You have to be busted 4-5 times to get a suspension and he was only suspended 5 games and then 10 games.
Nash was a late bloomer, but that guy’s general point is still correct. Nash gets overrated because the Suns completely turned around once Nash joined their team. But those Suns teams were always stacked with latent talent. The problem was they never had even a decent point guard before he joined.
This is true, and there's a few different reasons for why. First, VORP is obviously a counting stat, and Stockton had an incredibly long career whereas Nash had a short prime. Second, Nash was a very minus defensive player by DBPM, whereas Stockton grades out as only slightly below average. So, fine - if defense and longevity are the most important components of being a great point guard, Stockton is clearly better.
To me, Nash was a better offensive point guard during his prime because he was a much better shooter on significantly higher volume, and while he got fewer assists than Stockton, his assists were more valuable because he was usually creating opportunities for guys that they wouldn't otherwise have, not just feeding Malone and letting Malone go to work on guys. And I don't really care much about point guard defense, whatever, it doesn't matter. So that's why I think there's an argument for Stockton.
