Can we talk about how stupid the 10-point must system is? it's one of the main reasons that we get terrible decisions and yet nobody ever discusses it. before it was introduced judges were allowed to score a razor-thin round 9-9. now they are forced to choose a winner in every single round. the reason this was implemented is because morons in boxing thought that it would reduce the chance of draws (mathematically this is incoherent; it's purely an intuitive concept). it actually increases the chance of a draw because judges start thinking in terms of "make-up rounds". you know, "i didn't quite think fighter A won the last round but i had to give it to someone... so i'll give fighter B the next really close round". you're forcing bad judges to make sharp decisions even when they genuinely feel confused over who won the round
and is anyone honestly going to argue against the concept of an even round? what the fuck is this idea that every round has to be won by one fighter? i've seen a million rounds that could reasonably be considered 9-9. has anyone ever justified this dumbass system?

It's impossible to completely avoid having to have a doctor do something to you, but I'll never head there unless i'm certain i'm on my death bed.
There is no such thing as "chance" you're either right or you're not. He was right, the doc over prescribed him, when they started having him take the right amount he started feeling much better than when he followed their instructions the first time around. You can't put your undying faith into doctors.

My wife and I watched the Dadashev fight live and were really disturbed by what we saw - she especially as she's only really been watching boxing seriously for about 2 years now. When I told her Max died today, she started crying. It really seems to me that Pacquiao stuck to his roots and always seems grounded in the face of endless fame and coverage. Fighters like Floyd and other blacks always let the money and fame get to them one way or the other. Pacman doesn't seem to care much about any of it, he still sees himself as that street kid that ran away to Manila to fight for rice for his mother. His ego never got the best of him and that's why no matter if he was knocked out cold or robbed, it genuinely doesn't matter to him, he still has more than anything he could've hoped for and still has the opportunity to go for more.
