Too early to tell with simmons, it will be more clear after next postseason since he will be shooting a lot more this coming season. It's obvious that it's largely mental. He is a bad shooter but can knock down open shots. Giannis is also a really bad shooter but doesnt hold back. Simmons won't be holding back anymore and he's actually introducing it to his game

Both legit shots he took last season (every other one was a heave) rimmed in and out. It's honestly overblown due to the fact that he doesnt shoot at all unless the clock is expiring, because he thinks its a low percentage play, which it is.

His midrange was better his rookie year I think when he had a more open approach. Last season with the different team I don't think he pulled up hardly ever, all his makes were basically fades. His free throw improved though, I think he can get it up to about 65 next year. Lebron and giannis are only like low 70s. If he can get near that it will make more of a difference because he won't be avoiding fouls on drives. There isn't much point discussing this until the season starts desu

There's just no reason that I can see to think that it's going to become less of a problem. Obviously he's still young but he's made no real progress in that respect and his poor FT% is a red light in terms of his long-term ability as a shooter. He's still a really good player without that but it's a glaring flaw.

Choosing to prioritize defense instead of spacing isn't, like, objectively wrong or anything. It's a choice. The roster doesn't do a good job of maximizing Simmons' skillset and value but it does have a lot of talent and quality. Having lots of BBIQ guys who can make shots and defend is good

Chris Paul has 1, maybe 2 years left in his career, Gallo has had like 1 healthy season ever, and Schroder has never been any good. We already know what assets you're going to get in a Simmons trade for Chris Paul. Russell generally carried the rest of his supporting cast and not the other way around though. Hondo and Sam Jones are the only ones who were really good in their own right. and Chamberlain had talent around him too, even in the 60s he had Arizin with the Warriors and Chet Walker and Hal Greer with the Sixers. But that doesn't mean that a trade for CP3, Gallinari, and Schroder makes any sense at all. That would not make the situation better in any way. I don't really see what return you can get for Simmons that does improve the situation that much. And I think people talk way too much about Simmons' limitations.
