The NFL has no soul.

America's top plastic program

How does college football have soul? Players in """"your"""" team change every 2 or 3 years

>The All State Sugar Bowl
>The Tax Slayer Gator Bowl

About the same in the NFL except for QBs and very good players

>Players in """"your"""" team change every 2 or 3 years
It's not about the players, it's about the tradition.

>Florida State
>A once great program now having an identity crisis and falling from grace
Literally the SAE of college football

Not hating but you can't have tradition or history without "franchise players". The Bulls are the Bulls because of Michael Jordan

>The El Salvador all these fucking advertisments

American football is less dependent on individual players

When are the preseason games on?

lol, it's 90% about the quarterback, no sport depends in 1 position as much as american football

>fanbase is 99% people who have never actually attended the college they root for

So?

That's only the nfl because the schemes are so complex. You can't have a bunch stupid subhuman monkeys trying to operate the position at that level. College schemes are much more simplistic. It's more about raw talent at that level. Same with high school.

It's designed that way to ensure whites maintain the whip hand over the more mobile players.

When you consider satellite campuses, families who went and how big these schools can be population wise it starts to make sense

Obviously you know shit about football, there is no more team focused sport out there, QBs Job is more flashy but for starters without a good o-line any team is fucked

The players are literally made up of students at the university.

I can't stand that and it's part of the reason why I pay more attention to college ball than the NFL. Teams get free multibillion dollar palaces attached to ridiculously short term leases. In some cases the stadium isn't paid for by the time the lease it up. And when the lease is up, the team demands significant upgrades or a new stadium and the cycle repeats. If a city builds a new stadium it should be attached to a 50 year lease with no escape clause and upgrades at the cost of the team, minimum.

This is always really peculiar to me because over here the stadiums are mostly owned by the clubs or the league. Any owned by the government/city or otherwise publicly owned are primarily used for representative games (national team stuff).

College football is basically slave labor. Talented young kids playing for free risking injuries hoping to get picked up by the NFL. Most of them don't make it and they never get paid while the NCAA earns billions kek.

Euros.

Jesus Christ go back Europe flaming faggot. We don’t want your stupid ass here.

>College football is basically slave labor.

Free tuition
Free housing
Free medical
Free dining
Free tutoring
Free strength/conditioning coaching
Free access to premium workout facilities
Free apparel
And intangible shit like immediately being someone on campus, access to the best social circles & parties, girls clamoring for them, etc.

I'd take it over being a nobody student who has to pay for all that

Wheres the salary tho

it's basketball and it's not even close, which is why 90% of basketball discussion is about players and not teams
>batter is the same person every at bat
baseball is probably the least

You said it's "basically slave labor," when in fact they are receiving compensation and can leave the program at any time

Yuros... when will they learn

It is when you consider the fact that they get no salary and the owning body earns literal billions

has to go to subsidizing the 30 other sports the colleges have that bring in $10 of revenue a year and cost $1 million to operate

every one bitches about coaches and university fatcats raking in dough while not paying players but no one dares question handing out 12 full ride scholarships for some bottom end softball team where they get blown out 13-2 in front of their parents and the groundskeeper

>It is when you consider the fact that they get no salary
You're moving the goalposts, which isn't allowed in football

Slaves got all of that except for tuition

>access to the best slave parties

I feel they still dont get what they desserve tho, they should at least have some form of insured 4 years scholarship, like if a player gets his knee blown the fuck out in his sophmore year he still gets to finish his degree cost free on account of what he has already generated for the school

Unless he’s nfl level talent he probably hasn’t done much for the school.

As long as it's based on what they generated for the school, as you said, i.e. some 2nd stringer who hasn't seen a snap in a game and gets injured in practice gets zero

There’s like 20 players in college worth anything 99% of college players aren’t worth anything financially

Well I guess a good meassures would be their scholarship isnt it? They arent Just handing full rides to every other benchwarming kid right, they either have it because they are playmakers or are being prepared to be one, you are a starter in a full ride scholarship and get mangled in a football related injury, you get to keep it, you have one but havent become a starter yet, you get a big discount and so on

It's a bad idea bro. Everyone knows the risks.

What risk do you mean?

>Just handing full rides to every other benchwarming kid right
yes, every team is allowed 85. use to be much higher or unlimited don't remember. 85 is far more than you reasonably need, nfl only has 53 on their rosters

On these college campuses you would have to pay females equal it wouldn’t matter one bit the revenue

All sports would just end up disappearing at colleges you can decide if that’s a good thing

You can suffer a career-ending injury pretty much any time

Well I'm just elated they're equal now

Attached: soya 5.jpg (955x1024, 78K)

I know, this kids are risking their bodies and making big proffits for their school, they should have some sort of safety et of shit goes sideways

Im not talking about payment, and Why would you need to do that? Not even all the man sports desserve the same treatment, college football is broadcasted worldwide (or at least here and im guessing Canada aswell) no one os watching is fucking lacrosse or something, they dont desserve the same

>they should have some sort of safety et of shit goes sideways
No

>they dont desserve the same
We know but that's not a political or legal reality

Mexibro knows

Wtf is his problem?

Go Commanders

why

So you think XFL Will succeed?

>If you tag me I'll sit out
>Make me the highest paid safety or I'm leaving
"okay"
>What the fuck man this team is so disrespectful.

Correct. Slavery was the best thing that ever happened to Ngubu.

Their agents should be able to pay for insurance policies that pay out a few mil if they get hurt before going pro and the money laid out could be recouped from their rookie contract. The ncaa seems to go out of their way to fuck these kids over

>kids

They're adults

They aren't treated like adults

Lol. He showed them

How

Yup, i get they dont pay players straight up for playing, i think it wouldnt be imposible to do so but whatever.

Except they kinda are when it suits the NCAA, you cant pay them cause they are students and amateurism and shit, yet they hold media days for bowl games much like adult pro players, cant have their own endorsment deals and get paid by brands, except if they need to be the face of a school sponsor then they are adult enough for ads, but god forbids someone helps their families attend games cause thats some serious profit

Because it's an amateur sport and paying them or letting them do any of that shit turns it pro by definition

Just watch the NFL if you like that kind of faggotry. The rest of us don't

they get molested at night then have to clean the room in the morning
and if their hands are dirty at the table
NO SUPPER

REEEE IF THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL IT IS 4 FAGS

southern retards ladies and gentlemen

>ITS AMATEUR REEEEEE

Barely, in what other "amateur sport" the coach is payed literal millions of dollars, games are attended by 50k people or more, games are internationally broadcasted and players have endorsement obligations (yet no benefits out of it)?

College football at the highest level is in every sense a profit making profesional sport except for paying players, im preetty sure most power 5 schools move more merch than the Best selling mls team, and some mlb/nfl/nba/nhl franchises, i have NCAA merch and didnt even bought it in the states or something, all bought here in guadalajara, not anywhrere near the border and out of the 3 mayor cities in México the one with least american football fandom in the country, so fuck out of here with the amateur sport shit

Not an argument

Emotional argument

you are not a smart person. the reason they don't want to pay them isn't because it's a pure sport free of faggotry, but because as far as the colleges are concerned, they've already paid. they spend money on scouting high school football players, flying them to their state to show them what their college can offer them (a lot of them pick other schools) and offering them ridiculous scholarships (a lot of them don't become good players) and if they were forced to pay them, that would ruin the whole scam.

>you are not a smart person
Actually, I am vary smart

Probably the players in college football are not payed in all their worth. But they are not far from it. NCAA football is exciting and competitive. But not at the same level from the NFL. Johnny Football for all his hype and awards was never NFL material. And if you look in the salaries in a profesional team, aside from the key players, are not really "that" impresive.

college football is the most popular sport in places, manziel was probably worth $5-$10million/year when he was there. texas am puts 100000 asses in seats in the middle of nowhere and is an average big time program

you guys don't understand(hell most americans don't) football has to pay for all the other shit which never makes money like fucking women's rowing and shit. ohio states football program essentially pays for rutgers girl softball team so they can all go to school for free and cross cross the country in new equipment playing in nice facilities in front of nobody

Read again what i wrote. For the level most college footballers play, they are just very near of what they worth. Manziel was popular and a great player for the "level" he was competing. He was compesated enough for his popularity? who knows. He was compesated enough for his level of playing? I think he was almost totally.

lmao

Level dosent really means much when paying athletes, liga mx pays more than any other league in the continent and it aint shit compared to argentina and brazil, is about profits

OK lets say its fine for colleges to leach on football and basketball programs to support the shit no one cares about, still NCAA shouldnt mess with the players ability to generate income based on their athletic skills elsewhere, boosters want to offer money rewards for field performance? Let them, brands approach players to shill their shit in social media or be on asa? as long as its not conflicting with schools sponsors Why shouldnt they?

>Why shouldnt they?
I agree. Not sure on the legal precedent but don't know why someone hasn't tried some of the things you listed and then took the NCAA to court about it. might be because they are technically a non-profit organization that really functions like a monopoly and can pull off dick moves like that legally. not entirely sure desu

only for brainlets

>How does college football have soul?
marching bands!

Players should be paid, even though it's an amateur sport and they get

Free tuition
Free housing
Free dining
Free tutoring
Free medical
Free (premium) workout facilities
Free strength coaching
Free apparel

They have a variety of services available at their beck and call but they should get even more money (that students will inevitably pay) because

>muh feelings

You say it as if rugby was a particularly difficult game to understand

>dude got the ball
>side pass, side pass, side pass
>tackle
>ruck
>someone fucks up
>scrum
>repeat

Theres nothing wrong with rugby is a cool sport but lacks the strategic aspect of football that makes it for me a better spectator sport

What’s it like believing everything you read on the internet?

Are you the based Mexibro from /AAF/?

Yes, college football players know the odds are slim but they still go for it because if they don't try there's a zero percent chance of turning pro

Most realize their playing time is over after college and enjoy the free ride, popularity, glory, and believe it or not, they love playing. Who would turn that down?

I cannot WAIT for tailgate season

I think there was more than one mexican in the AAF threads, but yeah i posted there and ran the american football of México threads (coming again this fall for the mexican college league)

Awesome dude, can't wait for the /XFL/ and ebin Vance McChad memes

Go Dinos btw

Shiggy

he was probably getting that from athletic departments that turn a profit(it's like 7-8 last time I looked), the actual football programs have to make a killing so women's diving, rifle, and synchronized swimming can get funded

There is literally no such thing as too much gridiron. Feeder league in Australia and NZ when?

>playing a game to the delight of millions and being a literal god amongst men as a twenty year old

If this is exploitation sign me up for some exploiting. Glory > Money.

They had a shitty season, hopefully they bounce back the next

but you need a batter for every play

being an apex chad on a college campus is probably about as good as it gets. pretty much all the benefits money can buy that mean anything with about 5% of the baggage that usually comes with it

the only thing you really have to worry abour are concern trolling feminists who want to ruin all the fun.

Indeed, i dresm of a World with year round gridiron, check the CFL during this no nfl/cfb months

How big is american football participation down in Australia?

well I'm in NZ so I wouldn't know exactly. It will never pass rugby or Aussie Rules and probably not cricket, but it's definitely growing in popularity every year on NZ. It may already be the fourth most popular sport in Australia and third most popular here.

Ah sorry, can barely tell the color of the stars apart, i think nz/Australia are good places for the game to grow
