>Americans have turned around on soc-
Americans have turned around on soc-
ialism
based and redpilled
This stadium is so ugly holy shit
not true, but good post
>lelfica
Fuck off leftypol
>benfica-guadalajara
Considering the small Portuguese diaspora new england has, I'm pretty surprised it was this amount. But then again most Portuguese guys I know are all Porto supporters
thats Santa Carla though
>two foreign teams playing a meaningless offseason game
Did you expect people to go to this?
BASED
Cry more, Rached
San Jose coincidentally also has a significant Portuguese population, and Portuguese Heritage Day is one of SJ's biggest parades
Unions and french style socialism ruined mah country. Fuck them
>Soccer
>Leftypol
What's the difference?
>friendlies
Players get jewed so badly in America, having to play fucking friendlies mid-season to try and get self-hating Americans to turn up and watch a European team that is invariably phoning it in.
1.) Shit stadium
2.) USSF has been bamboozled by Chivas for years, they keep thinking Chivas has a bunch of Chicano fans but they don't
3.) Benfica lmao
this is just overconfidence by the organizers, they will still make hand over fist with the rest of the games and next year they won't invite a Mexican team, especially with SUM trying their new gimmick tournament
Based. Solidarity forever!
>they keep thinking Chivas has a bunch of Chicano fans but they don't
They do, but nobody is going to pay to watch this Mickey Mouse tournament
Arsenal vs Fiorentina in Carolina
das rite
It seems like the yanks have woken up to the fact they were getting absolutely rinsed under the guise of these pointless friendlies being actual tournaments with a trophy at the end. It worked for like 2-3 years though.
that's probably at least an average mls turnout
Has any game in that godawful stadium ever actually sold out?
Yeah no kidding. I saw that Bayern and Real Madrid in Houston and considered going. I went online and check tickets and as soon I saw that the cheapest seats were $200 I just chuckled and closed the tab. I'm not paying $200 to watch the second teams of Bayern and Madrid jog around the field for 90 mins.
MlelS needs to fuse with Liga MX to fill stadiums
goos to see yanks aren't getting tricked into paying premium price for a friendly match
Fuck off back to plebbit
OPEN WIDE FOR SOME SOCCEEEEEER
They are though. I live in jersey and constantly see spics i went to HS with instagram themselves showing themselves in front of the stadium just to see Messi subbed in at the 85’
>chapotraphouse
Why are there covered benches? Are the players really that bitchmade?
but seeing messi or cristiano even if for 5 minutes is understandable. now paying nearly the same to see the next João Félix isn't.
lol it probably isn't
>2-3 years though
I went to a sell out Chelsea game in 2008
it's been pretty fucking successful
Atlanta United games has some of the biggest attendances in the world
>Americans have turned around on anything
lose weight
>California has phonies
Color me shocked
people will come to games if the ticket prices aren't bad. 2 years ago I went to Bayern vs Inter at BofA stadium and like 60k people were there. People aren't paying premium prices to watch a bunch of rotation players and youth prospects. with a couple of actual starters playing half the game.
quick facts
Nobody knows or cares who either of those teams are
Levi’s is a shithole
Getting to Levi’s is a giant fucking pain in the ass, because you’re either stuck in traffic on the dumbarton or San Mateo bridge, you have to go ALL the way around the South Bay, or some kind of shit route through SF and south SF to get there, since BART only goes rob SFO
If the copa America was anything to go by, nosebleed seats there were like $75, so it’s not worth paying for seats when you could watch it on TV
But seriously, beneficia and some liga MX team? Who cares?
And it's still dwarfed by UGA games.
Once the "new team appeal" wears off Atlanta United will get the same treatment the Thrashers had.
Soccer is just a novelty in the US for hipsters to pretend to like every 4 years when the WC rolls around
No one ever believed it was a trophy with meaning, it's just the only time they get to see clubs like Real Madrid or Man United in person at home.
To be fair, it's not just any Liga MX team
It's Chivas who are like Mexico's biggest or second biggest team
Georgia plays like 7 games a year at home and always on Saturdays
lol no one ever thought they were meaningful trophies
The cheapest ticket to one of these friendlies here was $200. It's ridiculous.
And even if they played 20 times a year during weekdays they'd still be packed because they are immensely more popular that the soccer team. Same with the Falcons and the Braves. The MLS just doesn't have much of future in America besides short term spurts of cosmopolitan intrigue.
The MLS needs to hook as many Hispanics as they can, but that's not working as theyre more interested in and loyal to foreign teams
This
Tell SUMMafia to fuck off and make tickets actually affordable and people might go
the tickets are only $40 and no one gives a fuck
>tfw SPECTRE haunting c*pitaloids
b a s e d
this was at 1:30pm on saturday in a small tournament no one really knows the point of
>believing bay area peninsula stadium tickets are that cheap
That was from me looking at tix trying to actually go to a game
I cant remember exactly what they went for but I know it was absurd
Domestic terrorists are not welcome on our spee board
Not so much, but the pitch looks weird
SUM is actually feuding with Relevant Sports at the moment. SUM want to control the summer friendlies and are using their power to try and cut down Relevant, lots of lawsuits
SUM= LigaMX and CONMEBOL friendlies
Relevant= La Liga and Serie A friendlies
who ever gets control of the Premier League and Bundes will win out
oh cool, I wanted to go but >working weekends
REEEEEEEEE
I paid $75 to watch """my""" European team play a friendly in my home city. Just okayish seats. They didn't even try selling the third tier of seats. Attendance must have been like 35k/60k attendance. They mostly played youth players because everyone was recovering from the World Cup.
Attendance at other intenational friendlies in my city:
34k/55k (double header. All ~5k NASL season ticket holders were given a free ticket)
65k/65k (first event ever at new stadium)
Oh well, I've been following them for 10 years and I don't know when I'll get the next opportunity to watch them live.
Went with my dad and watched Madrid get stomped on. It was quite fun actually, but I do see your point
that doesn't look like over 20 000 people
Apparently Guadalajara Chivas is playing another game tomorrow. How does that even work
