reddit is pretty average as far as sites go.
ruleswise it is very middle of the road website, even having a fairly good record on free expression compared to most places. most places on the internet including reddit dont let you be racist, bigoted, offensive, violent, etc. so there's no real reason to single out reddit as special and make it into a unique special boogieman. i think it gets hate just because its an attractive alternative that does many of the things that Yea Forums does, and that frightens people. because the two places are so close on a particular spectrum, it feels like sibling rivalry. except that reddit doesnt give two shits about Yea Forums, so its not much of a rivalry.
