Muito dinheiro

Because they pay overs for old guys so it's pretty much the retirement league and if you've got money there you can have literally anything you want.
The US and the Gulf are similar propositions.

play for west brom making 2 million a year or less, or play for chingchong fc makin 30 million a year.

>chingchong fc
they pay 30 million in Canada?

Imagine paying Chelsea-tier salaries for failed, 29 year old prospects.....

This is what the Chinese super league does.

Some of them end their career here instead.

But in both cases though it's the same factors: a sedentary league, easy for oldies, and high pay packets for foreign players in an attempt to boost domestic interest in the sport.

They have to pay overs and provide nice conditions otherwise the players can go to the US or Gulf.

Money.
Although you also see lots of young prospects going there too, maybe they're just lazy.

At least in the MLS you are keeping your profile and marketability alive, once a player goes to China its as if they become a ghost. I've probably seen about 2 clips of Oscar since his move there for example.

That's a good point.

Money.

Never understood why anyone playing in Europe would come here anyway? At most they'll get about $8M-12M a year to play in an uninspired league in front of pretentious, "le typical american soccer fan" types. Can't they make the same amount of money in a lesser team in Europe?

Sudacas make sense since the MLS promises a pay boost, buy for a fading European elite, it's pointless unless you're looking for the cultural perspective or just trying to promote oneself.

because shit goes to the toilet.

Money and it's safer than playing in the US.

The only players who do go from Europe to America are those who are way past their prime and they can earn much more in America at their ancient ages than they can in Europe. Nobody in Europe wants them at that point anymore because they're uncompetitive. But America wants them for marketing purposes. And because the standard of football in America is lower, these grandpas can still keep up in the league.

It's tough to get a multi year contract as 30+ year old in Europe. Most lesser teams don't want to deal with the injury risk even for superstars.

The standard is shit so they don't get exposed and the money is great so you can make one last ditch attempt to save for life post football

Rude

But please watch our league

Really? I thought nobody payed attention to MLS (not even in America), so what makes it more "high-profile" than China.

If I was a 29 years old top level club player that may have been capped a few times for country, I'd love to play a few years in America, or maybe in the Gulf. It'd be fun and as you know your country is just about the best place in the world to live if you've got more money than you need.

they can expand their brand in the biggest media market in the world. but yeah, even though what they see is a relaxing retirement, they forget about how big america. the entire u.k can fit in texas and they don't realize how taxing and time consuming the travel is when they weren't invested in the league in the first place.

We are still kept updated on what the big European players there are up to, there's more opportunity for players to make waves outside of the game, think of all the glitzy events you can get yourself into and mingle with the big wigs in hollywood or nba players and stuff. If it were me I would choose the MLS because I'd feel I could create something sustainable after hanging up my boots. I feel like in China once you are retired then the government wouldn't really want you in the country anymore and the Chinese people would forget about you in the blink of an eye.

This, 60% of the money the UAE league makes goes to the wages of the players while 40% actually goes to the development of the league

league is a pissing contest for rich owners and nobody in the west sees or cares about your performance

Has anyone actually seen out their contract in China? Players realise how terrible it is to live there and leave after two years.
