Why do they hate indoor sports? Seriously, they don't have any successful indoor sports teams

Why would you do sports indoors when you can go outside and do sports in the rain?

Indoor sports are for communists

When asking this question, I was thinking about team sports desu

Might be because they were among the first to have a distinct sports culture and the traditional English sports were invented before sports halls.

indoor sports are for countries with shit weather

user...

>free healthcare
>thinks he doesn't live in a communist country

our weather is perfect for outdoor sports

makes sense

Just no real culture of it. Football? outside. Rugby? outside. Cricket? outside. Other sports aren't as culturally relevant so you won't have it built into our culture.

Indoor sports are for wimps and faggots who don't want to get the hair wet

This. Also they have actual grass to play on.

>squash
>badminton
>ping pong
These were all invented in the UK and despite the total lack of tv coverage are played by loads of people at grassroots level

Snooker, darts and billiards as well if you count ping pong. Our indoor sports just tend to be individual things rather than team sports like handball

We utterly dominate indoor cycling though?

For sure, but from an early age you aren't gonna encounter people playing ping pong and squash for a club in contrast to our outdoor sports. I think OP also meant team sports, which is a thing we don't really have when it comes to indoor sports.

darts and snooker, although the dutch and the chinese are getting pretty good at those respectively

Snooker and darts are popular.

>what is darts and snooker

those are the bong national sports

>it's another retarded eastern euro post episode

what indoor sports are there outside of basketball?

Interesting point. Maybe Brits realised thay having a group of Brits in enclosed spaces is undesirable

As mentioned, darts and snooker/billiards. Darts has exploded over there since Uncle Barry and is arguably on the level of soccer. You go into any pub, and you'll hear fat blokes hollering about who was better between Bristow and Jocky or slamming the table in disgust complaining about the Dutch taking over their sport. "Oi, we invent these bloody sports, get right at them, and then lose the plot to the wogs and continentals! The Queen weeps."

any gathering of brits in an enclosed area will turn into binge drinking

futsal is decent

I think basketball was invented because American/Canadian winters made it impossible to play sports outside... UK doesnt have this problem. Their "winter" is just cloudy and rainy. And they dont have a very hot summer either. So they can just play outdoor sports year-round.

volleyball, handball, ice hockey

pure unadultered cringe

>and is arguably on the level of soccer.

no.

It's just squeeking

Paying for healthcare is for communists

why play in the rain when you can just go inside for some tea and call it a draw

Indoor sports facilities cost more, especially in the UK where land is more sparse.

Funding is disgustingly low for grassroots sports, especially in working class areas. Even half the football games get called off due to shitty pitches. So there's 0 chance of funding for shit like basketball or handball

>and is arguably on the level of soccer

Not even close. Darts is fun but still struggles to sell out arenas around the country for Premier League events. Last one I went to was probably 80% full, and half the people don't even care about the matches they just want to drink and chant

indoor cycling is one of the few things they're elite in
