You need to play baseball from a very young age to have any chance at being decent. Meanwhile, you can take any giga at 20 years old who's never played football or basketball and turn them into a professional relatively easily.
Difficulty factor and learning curve should factor in "what is a sport," not how much running and jumping around there is.

I should've clarified the difficulty and learning curve in this instance is with regard to physical execution. Developing the array the batting, throwing, and fielding skills takes longer than the developed the very specialized skills you need to excel in American football and skillset in basketball. This is why over here, top draft picks are ready to go pro immediately in the NFL and NBA, while top baseball drafts sometimes never make the league and pretty much always need a couple of years in the minors for development.
