Plenty of guys in America do take the sport seriously, but the youth development here is garbage. In the boys/men’s game in America, coaches still favor athleticism over technical and mental attributes (because raw physicality is just seen as conventionally athletic here, and thus preferable to skill)
Our youth development systems are also garbage, so even if you are a guy and get all of the training available to you here, you’d still be shit at soccer
Tactics are generally much more important in women’s soccer, and physicality a bit less so, so that might explain why our women can focus on being smart, rather than purely brawny players
