Gas all zoomers

Hmmm “Brits” yes

>support local shit-tier team
>support closest EPL team
Not hard to understand Pedro.

I go watch my local League 2 side play every week but I also support Liverpool because they make Yea Forums seethe

Jesus christ fuck no.
Anyone who supports a PL team on top of their local side is a joke if said local side is in the top four divisions at least.

Regarding the original point, I think that loads of kids have almost always had goofy, ever changing preferences for football teams. It's nothing new. Most eventually stick with a bandwagon team or fall in line and begin supporting their local club.

>younger fans

probably 5 year olds

Imagine living in the country with the best football culture and still bandwagoning some PL team. Big yikes

Sadly so many still do it. All those perfectly good football teams with decent fanbases.

I support my nearest EPL team (crystal palace) and my nearest conference team (Bromley)

i got attacked by some fans of my local (league 1) team so fuck those filthy chavs

Yeah my hometown team is in the seventh tier though. Called the Isthmian league or some shit.

>support my local team
>support my national team
What's the problem?

It's understandable. That way more shirts can be sold.

Supporting who your dad supports is the only acceptable way of supporting a team.

Sounds pretty based to me. You should have joined them.

My dad doesn't like football but I still support my (admittedly now in the Premier League) local side.

It doesn't count if it's a foreign team or if it's a local team + a PL team

Your dad is a poof mate

My local club side is Liverpool FC

I will never understand, why would you support ANY football team these days?
All of them are half made of foreigners and half ngubus with citizenship, none of these players being locals and all of them are mercenaries.

It's all cheap from top to bottom, basically plastic tribalism for people who have 0 accomplishments by themselves.

>>support closest EPL team
lmao.

If it's a case of people supporting teams such as Chelsea & Rangers or Liverpool & Celtic it makes a lot of sense.

My family have supported Forest for nearly 100 years. Family tradition which what makes it so special.

Championship and lower league teams are not made of foreigners

Family tradition should be the only exception to supporting a top-tier club. If your family's never been involved with it to the ground-up, support your local team instead.

No

most championship teams are full of foreigners, especially when you include ir*sh sc*ts and w*lsh

>Irish, Welsh, Scots
Are they foreigners though, really?

I agree.

My dad has seen Forest lift the European cup in Madrid, he was there at Hillsborough and was at the old Wembley to see us win a few league cups. All I've seen is forest be a mediocre second division team but I wouldn't change it for the world. If I ever have children I'm definitely getting them season tickets at forest it'd break my heart to see them support someone like Man City or Spurs.

Not if your Dad is a plastic

That number is inflated for two reasons:
1. Transfermarkt includes Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish players as "foreign" even though no one really considers them foreign irl
2. A lot of Championship and lower players are English but play for foreign countries that they have ancestry in, especially Ireland, even though they're born and raised in England. This includes many of the aforementioned "foreign" British players.

i guess most of them are born in england anyway

>he's only seen forest as a mediocre second division team
>he's not also seen forest as a mediocre third division team
Plastic

Great on you, mate. You're keeping the true spirit of football alive. Is there a possibility people are gonna become sick & tired of mega-Clubs swallowing up supporters that they'll get discouraged and instead follow their local teams instead?

Yes. When it comes to football, any of these folk should be considered as foreign as the French, Germans or Djiboutians.

I've totally blanked the league one days out of my mind. Seeing us get thrashed at teams like Port Vale and Yeovil fuck you up.

why is it so surprising, when all the environment around pro sports aim at transforming fans into customers and consumers? customers and consumers are just doing what they're supposed to do: consuming more and feed the growth machine.

>support England AND local team
>"heh, fucking plastic"

I support both a PL team (the team I've supported the longest) and a non-league team (affordable way to watch live football and I just love watching football in person).

Ok, so put a cap on the number of non-English nationals allowed per squad.

No chance of that happening.

>not supporting your local club
why are zoomers like this?

Because the identity of a club and what it means to a local community has been lost.

I doubt zoomers care about the SPL besides the aesthetic of a Celtic jersey or Scottish roots

>tfw you only support your NT because your local league is so dogshit.
