how do these sharp GMs not draft an athletic fella who's taller than yao. Not even in the 2nd round? Isn't the 2nd round for longshots? Burgers please explain
And now I have to see all this fun unfold in a boston jersey
yeah you fatsos are gonna have to tell me how 30 general managers with 7 figure salaries all thought he wasn't worth a 2nd round pick
2nd round picks almost never pan out anyway, what's the fucking risk
why is he a celtic now goddamnit
Jack Anderson
He will never see meaningful minutes in the NBA, if at all, for several reasons. One, hes slow, even if hes considered "fast" for his height, he is not, he has no diagonal movement whatsoever. Secondly, he doesnt have good basketball instincts. He was drafted solely for his height to see if he pans out, he didnt even want to be in the NBA until a few months ago.
Aaron Hernandez
Being freakishly tall dosent mean you are a good athlete, not even in basketball, matter of fact very tall people tend to be less coordinated
Liam James
because being the ultimate lanket in the nba will never work right.
Look at Boban, so fucking tall and he plays trash at everything that isnt a layup or the nearby rebound.
They cant run like the normal size players either on defend (except maybe on the paint) nor on the offense side (again bar layups and alley oops)
Hell, being that tall is literally unhealthy for them
Jordan Scott
He looks like he's bad. All I saw in this video is that he can catch lobs and meekly dunk them. Your average guy on Yea Forums that has played basketball before is probably more skilled than him.
Luis Barnes
he can definitely be the 9th man on a mediocre team after a few years, he's not that stiff. He'll pan out better than most 2nd rounders, and that's what I take issue with
yeah, sure, but he's way more coordinated than they said he was. He was supposed to be your regular 230cm stick, and he's not so immobile
Lucas Collins
I've watched every game of Celtics summer league, so I can tell you a bit about him.
He's a stiff. A massive stiff, a stiff with pretty decent defensive range. But a complete stiff. As he should, because he's fucking 7 foot 7.
But, I wouldn't be shocked if the Celtics add him as the 12th man to the roster. He draws absolutely massive viewer numbers and crowd buzz. He's literally making summer league relevant for celtics fans.
Would be shocked if he doesn't make the team based on the facts that: 1. Celtics LITERALLY have no defensive big men 2. He'll draw eye balls, if for nothing but being a freak show
Joseph Smith
he not even going to make the team
Adam Lopez
>his name is literally Tacko Fall
kek what a name
Hudson Hughes
name 15 players boston has that are better you rimrod
Carson Baker
>lmao just be tall
nice "sport" america
Alexander Mitchell
If the NBA adopted yuro rules this guy would actually be playable because he could just stand underneath the basket all game.
Ayden Gutierrez
black Boban without the touch
meh
Jackson Morales
>Celtics LITERALLY have no defensive big men Time lord you cretin.
>celshits process tanked somhard now theyre selling freakshow tickets lmao
Jeremiah Gomez
He doesn't have a lot of skill but I imagine he has more of a chance to be better than a "replacement player" (a guy who comes off the bench for 2-3 years and mostly sucks) than a lot of the late second rounders.
Desagana Diop had a good career as a defensive big man with literally no skill, though I guess the league has changed a lot.
Samuel Davis
He's like 24, so a lot older than the typical 19-20 year old prospect. That means he's close to his peak and probably won't improve that much. He can't shoot. He's not all that mobile. He has shit stamina, even in college he struggled to keep up so it's a huge question in the NBA where it's faster and more athletic.
The game has changed. In the 90s he would have been drafted
Aiden Parker
They don't really need him. They've only got one roster spot open, and a lot of guys at 5 who'll want to see minutes (Kanter, Williams, Theis, Poirier). It makes makes more sense to go with a somebody like Korver who can bring more to the table right away and fills out SG depth. And if you're just looking to sell tickets, just sign JR Smith once he's waived and put him on the floor at the same time as Smart.
That said, I like Tacko and wouldn't mind if he does well in camp and other options don't pan out. Would be nice if one of the two way slots was still open.
Fall is 4 inches taller than Boban and more athletic. Still much more raw though, obviously. He'd be a project for whoever takes him on, but one that could be well worth it.
