In KC I see the KU football program promotional commercial all the time and why is nobody else busting Les Miles’ balls about dyeing his hair jet black?

This child will grow up in a world without a B1G championship.

yeah but they'll never get in trouble for that or the obvious paying of players because they're the new rivals to the Bama dynasty and boomers love dabo for some fucking reason.

What to you all think is going to happen to Uconn football?

dabo is fuarking based

>Returning an experienced QB
>Picked up a great new offensive coordinator and play caller
>Year 2 of Pruitt
>Promising and talented underclassmen on the defense
>Everybody overlooking us on their schedule

Yep I'm thinking this is our year

wow cool

lmao

The question is were they every really there

dabo is the slimiest coach in the ncaa. he oozes fake charm and snake oil.

and don't ya'll@ me with "it's just his accent"

You have to be

How touchdowns will Florida win by?

dabo soul
saban soulless

Gone in under a decade

why does michigan live /rentfree/ in other B1G teams' heads even though they haven't done anything in decades?

dabo is fake as fuck. Find another coach anywhere who will trash their players on national TV when they fuck up.

Boomers love him though because he quotes the bible and plays up his southern accent for the cameras with his shitty jokes.

>Boomers love him

No they dont. Only Clempsum boomers

Those mediocre expectations are probably still too high for a team that lost all of their good players

Reminder that the A&M of Texas are going unbeaten

They only play 4 road games and yet somehow have one of the most brutal road schedules in cfb
I don't think so, Tim

Their season relies on Burrow. They could do pretty well but i'll have to see it before I believe it.
Do Oregon State fans actually still exist
>tftp
Yes, and any other program sans Bama would get dicked by the NCAA. Lol we love goofy dabo though xD

If Fuente cant get us to a decent fucking bowl game this year, I say we bring back beamer and pay him literally whatever amount he wants.

Attached: download (3).jpg (275x183, 7K)

Probably the hottest take here
What exactly is Beamer gonna fix?
You still have his DC

Recurting better offensive talent and more importantly keeping them at tech and keeping them healthy.

Fuente is a fucking joke. But Beamer stepped down for a reason.
He gets paid now to make the ACC look good and to make Klatt seethe hard as fuck. I'd say that's a pretty good gig, doubt he comes back to Tech for anything other than administrative.

michael vick was the worst thing to ever happen to VT. He gave a middling program hope that they can be a contender.

Micheal Vick is a fucking faggot who doesn't give two fucking shits about tech. Motherfucker didn't even show up last season to the homecoming game to accept an award.

Fuck that dog fight piece of shit

At a bare minimum at least he has continued to beat UVA.

But holy fuck this was a way too fucking close season for that win. Along with having to play martial in order to keep the bowl streak alive.

Unequivocally BASED

Give me one good fuxking reason why this shouldn't happen.

>Move WV to ACC
>Move Georgia Tech to SEC
>Move Texas A and M back to the big 12.

how long until aTm gets busted for violations?

God I fucking hope soon
>Was my dream school
>Didnt get in
>got to VT instead
>New basketball coach comes in and gets us to the sweet 16

It would be neat to have a little Yea Forums pool but no one would trust giving money to anonymous and expect them to pay out the winner

Knock 7 off that counter beaverfriend

I mean there doesn't need to be actual money involved
I'm happy to compete for shitposting rights

I bought the digital version of Phil Steel's magazine. Should I printscreen that shit here?

I do think ESPN or someone has a pick-em from week to week though.

if it's any consolation, in NCAA 14 I just got hired as the new Vols head coach.
In my game, they are a 2-star program and I'm following the legendary Mike Bobo who left a great Vol legacy of going 2-10 in his only season

Attached: the lads.jpg (500x343, 33K)

If they wanted to shorten it why not just get rid of the field goal?
There were 2 OTs in the A&M-LSU game with field goals scored

Fuck this. I've been waiting for like 15 years for someone to break the 7OT record. I love watching OT memefests

I don't understand why they can't just play a 5th quarter
With offenses as good as they are, what are the odds the game would be still tied after another quarter?
Plus then the game of football would be decided by playing football and not this weird minigame they do now

Yeah, Lock is gone but we have Kelly, the kid who started for Clemson before Lawrence

god DAMN i have missed cfb. can't wait for the memes.
>pic highly related

Attached: AP_18362805300576.jpg (1024x683, 161K)

Only care about my Beaver schedule, friend.

By then both teams are worn out and you might wind up with both teams working up and down the field for no points. Eventually one would prevail but it would take longer. I agree that the OT rules are less than ideal though, might as well go to a kickoff fest and whoever misses first loses.

Oh shit i forgot, yeah you might be good who knows. how're the receivers and o-line?

The problem is you're playing another whole quarter
I like college's format
It's dramatic, it gives each team a chance, and it's not nearly as fluky as the NFL's
If there any tweaks I'd make it would be to move the start back to the 35
Would limit scoring and add emphasis on having an elite kicker
Basically anyone with a scholarship can make a 42 yard field goal, albeit >college kickers makes it less likely

In what way would another quarter not be good? It's football. We always want more football.
I will give you that it's a better format than the NFL's bullshit
I just feel like any tiebreaker that changes the rules that significantly is unfair and gimmicky
What if your team just so happens to have an amazing kick returner? You might as well have just ejected him because he becomes useless
Clock management is no longer a thing, field position is really no longer a thing
It stops being football and starts being an arcade game

For anyone a designing an overtime period, you have to try to lower the snap count
Players get tired so coaches don't like it
TV executives don't like overtime because it messes up their schedules
And I don't really think people want more football as much as a compelling game which the college format definitely gives
And it gives a satisfying ending
I'm not really sure if a quarter would give that
Besides, what happens if they're still tied?
Then what?

Our push for the aac and eventually the sec begins today!

Attached: CNgT-VlU8AAIZ0F-01.jpg (857x1200, 242K)

And lose to odu

I was going to make fun of you but that weirdly makes sense
The SEC is going to want a NC footprint at some point, but the Triangle schools are never going to be willing to separate
No one wants Wake Forest and East Carolina it out in the middle of nowhere
If you want a major metro in NC, I guess by default it has to be Charlotte

You got absolutely cucked by East Carolina
I'd keep your expectations low for now

It would be Clemson. Not NC ofc but as you said, I doubt any of the premier NC schools would leave the ACC and the SEC wouldn't take WF, ECU, or Charlotte who I hadn't heard of until your post. They would take App State before them.

Markets and footprints don't matter anymore
With streaming taking more precedence than before, it will be all about fanbase size
It's more likely we see conferences shed teams than add them

courant.com/sports/uconn-football/hc-sp-mike-anthony-uconn-football-edsall-aresco-column-20190716-20190717-vwsb5hia55d5zneesqhbpsf6au-story.html

Uconn will have to pay 15 million to get out of the aac

Charlotte outperforms app state in every sport except fball. And charlotte will close that gap soon enough

nice to see you back /cfb/ :3

If ECU weren't hot garbage they would be a good fit for the SEC.

>Charlotte outperforms app state in every sport except fball.
i.e. the sports that don't make money and no one watches and no one gives a shit about

>And charlotte will close that gap soon enough
delusion

Yet you took Louisville. Also, UNC academics lol

Should I even go to the games this year, or should I just stay at my fraternity's tailgate?

Attached: osceola planting spear.jpg (1465x1113, 910K)

Why do people pretend like college football is even worth watching? The same teams win every year. It's worse than the NBA. The worst bench player on Alabama is a higher tier player than the best player recruited by Rutgers or Maryland and there's no way to close that gap.

who fucking cares how Rutgers or Maryland plays you dumb nigger

Because people like football, because people support their team even if they're shit, because 2-3 teams winning every year is more compelling than 1 team winning in the NFL every year

I like hosting tailgaters at the stadium simply as a power move on my old college friends who aren’t doing as well =).

>all the thots in mom jean shorts are nice to gawk at too.

Basketball makes money. And since charlotte our recruits app state on the football trail it's not that delusional. Especially with the new coach and AD to steer the ship

Louisville had a very good basketball program and and up and coming football program. It fit with what the acc was looking for in terms of location and athletics

>Let's hire a coach with a 13-21 record in FCS
>He's gonna turn us around

>up and coming football program
Now look at them

>Not NC
>App State

You really don't get how this works, do you?
It's all about the media market
Why do you think the Big Ten took the dumpster fire that is Rutgers?

Eh, I don't think we're quite to that point yet
Live sports are the one thing propping up the old cable model
Long-term you're probably right though

That's an anomaly historically
What Alabama is doing is near-unprecedented

Also unlike other sports college football has more prizes to be won than just a national title

The contracts expire in 3-5 years so we're thinking what's gonna be the most important thing then and the immediate future
When realignment was at full steam the contracts wanted big markets for cable so that was the selling point
Now Disney and ESPN is putting money and resources into streaming which means potential volunteer streaming subscribers mean more than potential cable subscribers being forced to have channels they don't want
The pool of money for conferences is no longer determined by market sizes but rather fanbase sizes
So the priorities are shifting

To being a 6-6 team

Why are your cheerleaders so ugly

In the title game

Attached: 45B14604-412C-4D52-A1F5-77029A2DC6DF.jpg (970x546, 87K)

>title game without divisions

Never should have been allowed

>Only returning 8 starters (5 off/3 def)
>None of the good players are back
>Tough schedule
>Have Ehlinger as your starting QB
You'll be lucky to be 7-5

Why?
What makes divisions better?

Imagine unironically believing Ohio State cares about PSU

Ohio State's depth chart at QB
>Justin Fields (transfer from Georgia)
>Chris Chugunov (transfer from West Virginia)
>Gunnar Hoak (transfer from Kentucky)
What was meant by this?

Urban Meyers meme Qbs services are no longer needed and they chose to go elsewhere

Rematches are shit
You had your shot

Rematches are pretty common in title games though

>summer sports doldrums are in such a full effect the Horns Up debate is considered newsworthy

Maybe stop being obsessed with us

Attached: EF3AA92A-224C-4726-8B5B-E32E69B27EBA.jpg (1125x1125, 481K)

Which is unfortunate

And who cares?
It's a quirk but a pretty small and meaningless one

Because one of the biggest appeals of college football is how much is at stake each game
It becomes less entertaining the moment a team can say "Well this game doesn't really matter, we'll see them again in the CCG"

Except that's never been the mindset for any team whatsoever

you fear penn state urban shitter freaks out everytime

With the way the Big 12 is set at this point, that's Oklahoma in every conference game
They know very well they can lose a game, maybe even two depending on who they're against, with zero consequences

They can't because we live /rentfree/ in their heads :)

oh how cute gayders

Attached: gaytors.gif (125x80, 25K)

Penn State is OBSESSED with the other B1G schools. It's really sad
Only college campus I've ever been to where they have other schools logos up because >muh B1G
They're so sure Ohio State and Michigan are their big rivals
They have no idea how much those schools don't give a fuck about them
It's really sad

Yea Forums has been fun this summer. I am shocked. The shit with nba free agency, copa america/womens world cup/gold cup, that wimbledon final.

That held me this last month and a half.

FSU actually does put some effort in academics compared to some of the sec schools.

this is fucking retarded. My suggested moves are:
>TAMU back to BIG 12
>West Virgina back to big east
>gators to acc
>GA tech back to sec(i agree with this)

also ucf to ACC

Except that's not true
Look at Ohio State

I feel bad for Miami fans. They hyped themselves up, only to see it crumble in the bowl game

Ohio State can too so long as that game's not Michigan
But that's the B1G being shit, not because of its structure

nah they will get pounded by clemson in the acc title game. Honestly I think they will be pretty good this year. hopefully enough they will keep their talent around

I love the delusion of the 15 miami fans that actually exist every year.

at least my coach doesnt fuck fishes

Attached: mcwain.jpg (500x281, 34K)

the big 10 is penn states bitch forced them to capitulate and remove sanctions when they threatened to leave

Yeah that sounds like the kind of dumbass thing Penn State fans would believe actually happened

penn state lives rent free in the minds of all big 10 schools especially o*Io state

Literally no one else in the Big 10 cares about them
Please stop you're embarrassing yourself
But I guess that's par for the course from you guys

werent you the little aspie faggot bitching about them earlier in the thread
>rent free

You play on a baseball field with less attendance than the rays

I'm not a Big 10 fan you dumb shit
I just a northeast resident who unfortunately has to be around your dumbass cult and knows what a bunch of cringey delusional fucks you all are

why so hostile dude its just text on a screen come on now

Because Penn State should have gotten the death penalty

Does anybody else like UCF precisely because they make people mad? They're the ultimate troll team.

>You really don't get how this works, do you?

Finish reading my post dumbass

>Basketball makes money.
Yes for top tier programs, i.e. not Charlotte

>And since charlotte our recruits app state on the football trail it's not that delusional. Especially with the new coach and AD to steer the ship
Delusion

This
Fuck Penn state

roll damn tide

it's our year (again)

Roll over and die

literally nobody gives a shit about UNC-Charlotte, the football program isn't even 5 years old yet. App State is good at football but the campus sucks balls and they're facing their first real coaching change in forever; they might be fringe AAC material but all their other sports will hurt that conference.

when it comes to poaching, SEC would ask for Clemson > UNC > VT/UVA > NC State, in that order.

But it won't happen unless the ACC Network completely collapses (which might be the case since they still don't have major cable companies carrying them just a month away from launch).

I vote SEC give A&M, Missouri and Arkansas back to the Big 12 along with LSU and go pick up USF, UCF, FSU, and Miami.

no we should genocide all directional schools that aren't a state's name or USC instead

Let's fucking go Canes #TNM

if were doing that add all schools with "state" in their name.

cucks couldnt get the simple "university of (state)" name and werent original enough to come up with anything better

Scar will block Clemson everytime and the main nc schools wonto be leaving for the sec. If the sec wants into nvpit will likely have to settle with a directional school

A&M can stay in the SEC.

Nebraska needs to go back to Big XII, West Virignia needs to fuck off, and Maryland needs back in the ACC

Leafs OUT
Pedo State fans OUT
Charlotte literal whos OUT
Big 10 fans OUT

Suck my fat dick

no just shut the fuck up

>Penn State is that guy who was forced to work with a pretty girl for a group project and now unironically believes she's his gf just because she's spoken to him so he tells all his friends. They just wanna force those rivalries so bad so they can feel like it would matter if they killed themselves
>Sparty shares a state so UM literally lives rent free. Actually it's beyond rent free -the state pays them for it

No you

Attached: d33b28b213.png (800x449, 420K)

they gonna meme it up this year too?

Probably no but 8-4 and a meme win over Florida would be great.

I say 7-5
Looks like Vandy is the only winnable road game

their brands would be so much stronger if they were named after their cities though. Change the names and casuals would recognize it like an actually-successful Metro Conference 2.0

>University of Tampa
taken by some literal who diploma mill

trade Notre Dame to the B1G

trade Penn State to the ACC

everyone wins

You're totally right
Why do you think they insist on emulating USC/UCLA instead of using the Directional Florida names?

Fuck off we're full

BYU to PAC 12
>he doesn’t rest on Sundays

ND to B1G, Maryland to ACC. As much as I hate PSU they are a better fit than Maryland.

Wouldn't BYU going football-only to the Pac solve literally all the issues for both sides?

Louisville will be running the ACC in a few years when AwshucksdaggumblessemthankG*d Memebo fucks off to Alabama

>West Virignia needs to fuck off
WVU needs to head to the ACC or American.

I said fuck off we're full

>won't take single-sport school
>won't take Hurr State because dummies
>won't take BYU because magic underpants
>won't take another California school because _____
>won't take Nevada/UNLV because literally who
>won't take New Mexico because literally who
>won't take Air Force because "service academy" and #FUCKAMERICA
by their own criteria, there are no eligible members west of the Rockies for them

The hate that would be bred between BYU and the real liberal schools would be so awesome to watch

>I said fuck off we're full

It's never enough for the ACC they will get one more member and WVU is on their list.

Just came to say clanga

Attached: Mississippi_State_Bulldogs.jpg (1365x1024, 228K)

WVU is too stupid anyways
We'll take UConn first

I think the pac should take houston to get a more eastern school to improve the viewer numbers but it seems they want to see what Texas and Oklahoma do first

UCONN is off the list, it's WVU and G'Town only for Basketball.

If he wins another Natty this season he goes to the NFL.

Even if he did, which he won't, >we will still have Jeff Scott who's already a better receivers coach and recruiter than Dabo was

Why the fuck would anyone ever take a school only for basketball?

Dabo is a meme. Venables is the engine.

For me, it’s the University of Central Florida.

Harbaugh is such a little bitch. Swiping at Urban when he's gone.

"Urban Meyer's had a winning record. A really phenomenal record everywhere he's been," Harbaugh said. "But also, controversy follows everywhere he's been.....Our goal, we have two. Win multiple championships and run a first-class program. That's what we aspire to. We're learning and you take accountability and you learn from it. Hope springs eternal and we're fired up for this season going forward."

Just good bantz m8

>travel times from Texlahoma to the PNW
hard fucking pass

checked

Venables is the key piece that ended >Clemsoning to save Dabo's ass, no other assistant has done shit anywhere else

harbaugh couldn't accidentally into good bantz. it's like every cumshitting michigan fan ever. "muh clean program" or "muh academics".

Do they not remember the fab 5?

>being this triggered

>

Clemson has lost 3 assistants since 2014
One is a head coach
One is a coach in the NFL
And the other retired

Btw Chad Morris saved Dabo's job
There is no Venables if it was not for Morris

That's nice but I'm betting either osu stays on top or Penn state takes over that division

What?

I’m not reading that shit, but I will give a (you).

PSU needs a QB. Franklin chokes in big games too.

Checked and correct

That game against osu last year was pitiful

Dude, come on.

Should've been invited to the SEC

Fuck off were full and superior

My uni is getting in and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Prepare your anus

That's cute that you think that
You grossly underestimate how heavy media Notre Dame cocksucking is

But not as much as last season barring the team dies of dysentery

Probably right, fucking Jews in the media really love that Big Catholic Cock. They'll try to pull this bullshit down the line and award them another undeserving playoff spot in which they get bootyblasted by another superior team. Anyways at the end of the day they'll never win another natty in our lifetimes so yeah.

why is college football starting a month earlier than last year?

how're >my cajuns looking /cfb/?

Because of an increase in overseas games

You lose all credibility ignoring the first week of football

Texas cannot be allowed to git gud again because they're already insufferable and drive schools away from the conference when they suck. If they become elite again at this point they'll single-handedly bring about the final, for real end of the Big 12.

No, you don't understand, user. Good Texas is why the Big 12 will never end.
The whole point of the Big 12 was to be Texas's playground. It's a conference designed for no one else to be good except Oklahoma, because every story needs a bad guy.
Every other Big 12 team is just there to be Texas's Washington Generals.
Will the better ones leave? Yep. But 30 years from now, the Big 12 will still be there for Texas to be up on Western Nebraska and Colorado School of Mines

>we lost

It's more and more boring to me. The small schools literally have no path to the championship, even if they go undefeated, so what's the point of them playing or me watching their games. The talent gap between big and small schools only worsens if the small schools can only compete for a half decent bowl game.
>inb4 "they've never had a shot at the championship"
They did though. How else do you explain a school like Central Michigan University having played in a national championship.
They should have an 8 team playoff. Automatic bids for power 5 champions and 3 at large spots for both power 5 teams and others. It would make the game much more interesting.

North Carolina will not be better than Duke. Also >Miami and FSU finishing 1st or 2nd in their division
Probably the closest to being right on
Probably close too. Holy shit the PAC12 is lopsided. Could see USC dropping further tho.
I mean sure I guess, ND will probably lose to both Jawja and Mishitigan
That Cincy/UCF game will be damn good. I see Fickell leaving after this season
BSUwinslol. Hope Hawaii wins their division.
Ehh, dont care aside Kiffin. Hope something comes out this year about the coeds.
Can't see Northern and Buffalo falling off, their recruiting is solid at this point. Maybe I'm wrong.
Appalachian needs to move up a conference at this point.
Gonna come down to stats between Lawrence/Tua/Patterson, which means Patterson is out. Would put my money on Tua solely because Etienne will steal some of Lawrence's numbers.
The absolute fucking state of FSU, USC, and LSU recruiting. Those schools are so fucked. On the other hand I'm gonna say Florida is back soon.

Thanks a bunch

My first thought was
>FSU at 2? Seriously? After losing the only decent o-lineman they had from that turnstile they had
But considering that division, yeah sure
Everyone in the Atlantic is rebuilding except Clemson

Kentucky lost their two good players from last year's team
They might fall off a cliff

Stats like Nebraska a lot
Plus Wisconsin's schedule is tough
Nebraska has Ohio State, Northwestern, Iowa, and Wisconsin at home (and they have a bye before Wisconsin)
Meanwhile Wisconsin has Michigan, Michigan State, and play at Ohio State while also having 3 straight weeks of playing teams who come off a bye (Iowa, at Nebraska, Purdue)
There are real reasons to like Nebraska's chances
Could they not take the leap people expect? Sure
But it's not like Texas who is getting a lot of hype despite a tougher schedule than last year and returning just 8 starters

>Florida recruiting
Was good, but this was also written before Chris Steele and everyone else left

That's fair. I still think the talent gap between Nebraska and 1st place in the west exists. They'll get btfo by Ohio State on talent alone and probably struggle against someone else. Perhaps the Iowa game is for the division, you never know. Also you might be right on Wisconsin but, again, the talent there is just better than Nebraska. I'll remember this near the end of the season.
Oh right, then yeah i think Georgia wins the division and cocktail party handily.

Chance of a hungover Clemson losing to tech in week 1?

WHEN DO RANKINGS COME OUT? I NEED MEANINGLESS NUMBERS TO SHITPOST

0%

Last year the coaches poll (which iirc comes out before the ap poll) was out on like August 2. The season starts a week early this year, so maybe sometime next week at the earliest

>appstatewinslol
i'm sick of being stuck in this fucking conference

No one has yet to mention that he's got Michigan in the playoffs

Buffalo lost brown Josh Allen and Northern Illinois lost their coach

It's a pretty safe bet to say they'll win the Big Ten given what they return and what OSU loses...

still it's hard to even picture Michigan beating OSU at home. By then I bet they lost 2 other games

Michigan still has to prove they can beat Ohio State
I think there's probably a bigger chance Georgia makes the playoff as a 2nd SEC team then Michigan making it at all

This thread needs more Mizzouposting

Attached: mizzpepe.jpg (335x375, 72K)

Conferenceposting is conferenceposting
It's shit and pointless because the sample size of nonconference games is really too small to be relevant and it drags down the threads

Harbaugh should unironically go back to the NFL. I've got him all figured out now. He actually IS a good coach, a good Xs and Os guy, but he's a fucking awful recruiter. Or at least he's not as good a recruiter as the best recruiters in college football, and even the best recruiters in his own conference. So his teams are well-coached and he runs a tight ship, but none of it matters because he's always going to run into a team that has more talent than Michigan and they're going to ruin his entire season. He should genuinely just try to go back to the NFL, where the talent discrepancy between the good and bad teams isn't nearly as big.

I mean, what if Michigan ever got around to playing Bama? Harbaugh is a much better actual coach than Saban, but what does that matter? Harbaugh has a bunch of amateurs and a few elite players, while Saban can field NFL-level talent across the majority of his roster.

Attached: 1559199971870.gif (318x240, 602K)

bama rarely ever has a good qb. tua was the exception

It's not that he's a bad recruiter, and anyone can recruit to Michigan, he's just a miserable college coach. Xs and Os is fine, but he doesn't have a system - or he can't teach it. Look at last year, where the team was tight, and the defense looked unbeatable. Don Brown has a definite system, and by the end of the year it was solved by Ryan Day, annihilated, and nobody adjusted. Michigan couldn't stop anyone the rest of the way. He hires Jay for the RBs, and his stable of backs are the biggest meme in the Big Ten. He can't even keep the staff he had. If he had his own coaching philosophy, that doesn't matter.

In the NFL, he can build a coaching staff, he can run his team like a CEO and manage personalities. In college, he needs to develop talent, and he has zero ability to do that.

>fat 3rd string QB is absolutely carried by the best string of 3 games a running back has had in recent memories

It's actually hard to find teams who won the natty since the BCS era begun that had an elite QB

>he can run his team like a ceo in the nfl
except thats false which is why he bolted back to college. the gm and owner usually have more say in the nfl, which is why he lost the power struggle with the 49ers

You have to think any properly run team would let him do his thing rather than get involved and break everything like the Niners management

most teams dont like to. pete and belichick are the exception. with the eagles they tried to give the coach like kelly a lot of power but they figured out that he was over his head in handling both the coaching and running the other stuff too. so they fired him and let the gm have his power back. then they went on to win the super bowl.

In college you absolutely will never be able to do that, but in the NFL a decent GM will tell a guy like Harbaugh to go out and get his team.

Or Harbaugh should just stop trying, because he's just not a good coach.

He's good, but he's like a Dantoni type
He can elevate any team garbage to very good B+, A- results. But you give him an amazing team destined for A+ undefeated and he'll still get B+, A- results

That's good enough for most of the NFL. He probably would have won that Owl if Smith never got hurt and Kaep hadn't gone in and fucked everything up. But at a team like Michigan, which thinks of itself as a blueblood and demands a natty, he's never going to be quite good enough.

All I hear about this Michigan tenure is the "you gotta beat Ohio St" stuff. Shouldn't that be reserved for decades from now? People shouldn't have forgotten that monumental ref fuckup that was so bad they even apologized that cost them a win against them. It was only like 3 or 4 years ago

I personally think he is a good x's and o's coach but he just cant recruit enough to overcome the talent gap against ohio state and penn state. at the end of the day michigan has a smaller population compared to ohio state and Pennsylvania. and michigan has to deal with Michigan state in their state territory and a bunch of g5 teams in the state. ohio state is the only P5 team in ohio with a bunch of g5 teams no one cares about and penn state just deals with temple and pitt in their back yard. and since michigan now has to go through both penn state and ohio state to get to the B1G title game with the new lay out the odds are against them. to me anyway with the way things are laying out michigan will usually be the third best team in that division most years in the future but thats just me

>at the end of the day michigan has a smaller population compared to ohio state and Pennsylvania.
This is one of the most simple-minded approaches to recruiting geography that I've ever heard. Well before Harbaugh, Michigan was poaching the state of Ohio talent for fantastic players (like their last Heisman winner). Other talent hotbeds (SoCal, Texas, Florida, Memphis) obviously benefit the closer schools, but the loyalty of high school athletes doesn't strictly adhere to state borders

Attached: 2014 Oklahoma recruiting.png (4044x2819, 730K)

I just want to say while Harbitch is right about Urban he's still a salty SEETHING lil' shit who couldn't win 1 (one) game against him.

yeah I'm well aware of that from the rivaly documentary. but ohio state usually wins the recruiting battle in ohio. and while national recruiting tends to help its not a surefire way of solving the talent gap most years. especially if you cant get that team to the conference title game most years. which is why harbaugh cant just be a great x's and o's coach, he has to also be an excellent recruiter if he want to convince those those national players to come to michigan over the likes of their local state colleges or other real blue blood schools trying to land those players as well. relying on national talent can be a good way to shrink the gap but more often than not the gap is still there. and michigan has so far shown they cant close it. and if ohio state and penn state keep winning that division I expect their nation brand continue to get smaller for out of state recruits

I also expect the division system to hurt michigan more down the road compared to the old round robin system the the B1G used to have. for michigans sake they should hope the B1G expands east so they get moved to the western division again where it would be easier to get to the title game

Desmond Howard, Charles Woodson, even Bo and Jim Harbaugh himself are all Ohioans. Jim Tressel starts focusing on in-state recruiting, and while his recruiting rankings weren't that good, all of a sudden Michigan can't win shit and Ohio State dominates. That's the thing - AJ Hawk was not a blue chipper. Recruiting means a lot, but you absolutely can close the talent gap if you get anywhere close to someone else.

It's easy to recruit to Michigan. You've got a top-tier education, a blue-blood name brand football program that's on national TV weekly, and a great chance to make the NFL. The last few coaches just don't know how to create a locker room that makes people want to be there. Harbaugh's best assistant coach left to go to Ohio State of all places, to work with a rookie head coach half his age.

Also it's not Ohio State and Penn State to worry about. It's Michigan State. That's the program that's making it really hard to get the easy talent. Harbaugh isn't even locking down his own state against an autistic Bill Belichick impersonator.

Not really. Pac will be a real conference when USC is competing for national titles again

Top tier education can also hurt. yes it can help attract some players but if they cant qualify for the school they usually end up going somewhere else. and penn state and ohio state are a bit easier to get into while still offering education at a top one hundred school. and they are more than capably of putting their talent in the nfl.

and the easy talent goes back to some of the other stuff I stated in one of my original posts. michigan losses talent not only to michigan state but to other g5 programs in the state like cmu, emu and wmu who would rather start than be bench players. Ohio state has no little brother to worry about being the only P5 team in the state. and in Pennsylvania its just penn state temple and pitt being the only football fbs programs. so ohio state and penn state will always have more quality depth and better walk on programs compared to michigan. which will go a long way in ensuring they will have a solid next man up players if injuries ever happen compared to michigan

Man, didn't it only take until week 7 or some shit for them to complete the Pac 12 circle last year? They should just do what the other conferences do and have the conference pay the refs to ensure 1-2 teams win all close games so they can have playoff hopes

>Remind aOSU needed a bullshit PI call to win this game

>Memphis

Are we just gonna ignore this guy putting a city with the population of my dick on par with the three most populous states in the country?
We need to all point and laugh at him

Michigan used to control the recruiting in Northern Ohio until Tressel.

Listen to Krenzel on the radio with The Man is one of the most comfy times to experience. Especially when they talk about the championship run.

Post your season picks
I think this season will be a crapshoot and a lot of this is guesswork. I think ASU, Arizona, Colorado and Fresno State are locks in the W column, while ND, UW and Oregon are pretty sure losses. The other 5 could go either way. We’ll probably drop one of the games I expect us to win and go 7-5, hopefully that will be it for Helton

>All I hear about this Michigan tenure is the "you gotta beat Ohio St" stuff. Shouldn't that be reserved for decades from now?

What? They're arch rivals.

Michigan will never be considered true championship material if they cannot overcome ND, MSU, or tOSU.

>went to P5 school
>want to get a new t-shirt
>figure July-August is when all the new season apparel rolls out
>look online
>my team has like 6-10 items while other schools under same brand have 25-30
what did they mean by this

I didn't go to a literal who school, plus adidas has already made the format for other teams, how hard is it to just swap the colors/logos and offer the same number of items to everyone?

hurricane fan?

>You'll remember the good games, you won't remember the tailgates.
Did you see where I go to school?
I'm not sure I want to remember the games this year.

Only ones I could see flipped are Virginia, Michigan, Tech, and Navy

You can beat NC State
Their pass rush is gonna be as non-existent as your O-Line is

t. brainlet

D will be better than last season and Free Shoes will undoubtedly be looking ahead to Clemson

I miss the 90's so much

Attached: the boys.jpg (1200x675, 159K)

There is no real reason to think that
Plus you're replacing your QB, running game, and most of your O-Line
You're not gonna to be able to score much either

I'm not a huge ND fan (I'm a VT student but I am catholic.) However the ND v Navy matchups are the most kino college games every year.

We historically have a bad time with them, regardless of how shit they are

I don't think the 90's were a time for fags like you

Imagine actually thinking michigan football recruits are held to the same academic standards as the actual students.

I just want ncaa football back guys. I miss siming all the games in an entire season and only focusing on recruiting in dynasty mode

Seethe harder Criami fag

Lmao this. Look at Rashan Gary's Wonderlic score

LAST CHANCE U SEASON 4 OUT

Ever notice that the fans who brag about their program's academic records don't have any actual sports record to brag about?

Haven't watched yet, watching first few episodes with dad tonight

Bitch you know very well Miami doesn't have any fans

Feels like the SEC is at the highest levels of cope you've seen
Even Georgia's getting in

On paper this should be a cakewalk with the looming exception of an Nebraska slowly waking up from a DEEEEEP slumber. Although knowing it's Day's first year on the job I don't expect much other than the usual pistol whipping of Harbitch's team up north.

Attached: tOSU Schedule.png (1034x830, 146K)

I see a 7-5 season with an equal chance of going 6-6 or 8-4. We may be able to beat Miss St which I put down as a loss, but we also might lose to South Carolina which I put down as a win.

Are you a soldier or why tf does a Saudi care about KU

How can you not love a guy who was selling real estate 15 years ago and now runs the most prominent program in college football

Are they going independent in football or something?

I just moved from Birmingham to Chicago, what do midwest bros? I’m within two and a half hours of Northwestern, Wisconsin, ND, Illinois, and Purdue so I might catch some games this fall.

YOU CAN HANG HIM FROM A TREE, BUT HE’LL NEVER SIGN WITH ME

best atmosphere will definitely be at camp randall. plus madison is a pretty kino place.

>Ohio State names its training facility after a known sex offender and pedophile
>Harbaugh complains about kids faking mental illness while also saying he supports instant transfer eligibility while he lies about a meeting with a kid who claimed to have mental illness and he now blocks from transferring to fucking Cinncinati
anyone more JUST than the Big 10 right now?

>Do all this bullshit only to save the Big 12
lol retard

>It's another Alabama beatdown year

no /Hoosiers/

I begrudgingly see the reasoning behind Nebraska/A&M/Washington/Georgia Tech, just don't understand why Kansas, Louisville are getting tons of swag as "basketball schools"

I think the new co-DCs and linebacker play will be a bigger question that limits success, not Day's offense; see the TCU game last year for a 2-hour struggle

Someone make a new bread please

Never in a million years. They’ll certainly be viewed as a step above the other G5 conferences, but they’re never going to even have one program that’s comparable in revenue, history, fan base, success etc to something like LSU or Ohio State or Texas or Georgia or FSU. All the other P5 conferences have multiple teams like that.

this is it boys, this is our year

Auburn hasn’t beaten LSU in Tiger Stadium since the 90s. Stupido
