Literal Fake News. Say what you will about Gruden but he was the sole reason the Bucs were worth a shit ever. This whole Dungy made that team meme is cringe, Dungy was brainlet who coasted off a HOF QB and held the Bucs offensively. The minute Gruden took over the Bucs their offense started clicking and the productivity skyrocketed.

this is true

In order to get to the super bowl you have to be consistent. I guess the Bears could get lucky by having him string some good games together in the playoffs. If they don't get home field advantage I don't see them doing it.

>In order to get to the super bowl you have to be consistent
Not really. Joe flacco and Eli Manning for the bulk of their careers were wildly inconsistent but got hit at the right time.

Bears are making the playoffs. Packers aren't. Not this year. There's too many teams primed to win a wild card over them and they're going to have recalibrating growing pains.

Pats
Bills
Jets
Phins

Steelers
Browns (wc)
Bengals
Ravens

Texans
Colts (wc)
Jags
Titans

Chefs
Chargers
Raiders
Broncos

~~~~~~~~~
Eagles
Redskins
Cowboys
Giants
Bears
Packers (wc)
Vikings
Lions
Panthers
Saints
Falcons
Buccs
Seahawks
Rams (wc)
Niners
Cards
I don't think that's CTE bro I think Incognegro is just crazy.
I don’t know, I think the only NFC teams in contention for the playoffs are the Rams, Saints, Falcons, Panthers, Bears, Packers, Eagles, and Cowboys. So the Packers aren’t guaranteed a spot but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think they beat out the cowboys and whichever NFCS team finishes third.
Toxins aren't even getting the wild card retard
>all these retards thinking the toxins will win the AFC South when they got worse and every other team in the division got better
They’re going 5-11 and finishing last.
Switch Jets and Bills.
AFC South is completely wrong, and that division isn't getting a wild card. Have you even looked at their schedules? They'll be lucky if two teams in the division break .500. All of them are facing playoff level teams all year, and on the road to boot.
Redskins are not finishing above the Cowboys. Eagles and Cowboys will be fighting to win the division. My bet is on the Cowboys. I don't get why this board consistently underestimates them so much .Dak is nothing special but he's surrounded by talent on both offense and defense.
Packers are not getting a wild card spot over the Cowboys/Eagles/Saints/Rams. It's just very unlikely.
NFC South looks correct.
Seahawks are not winning the division over the Rams.
I think it's more accurate to say that only crybaby boomers that worship cuck teams that lose all the time hate the Patriots. Old Gay is a prime example.
Redskins
Giants
Bears (2)
Packers
Vikings
Lions
Falcons (4)
Panthers (5)
Saints
Bucs
Rams (2)
49ers
Seahawks
Cardinals
god this meme gets old
I think you are underestimating how shit Mcarthy was with the offense. Any offensive coach is a upgrade over him and with rodgers we are dangerous. Offense can only be a upgrade this year, literally can't be any worse then it was the last couple years.
I don't think he was so terrible that replacing him with a first year head coach is going to make the Packers jump up by 4 wins from last year, no.
I'm gonna be so happy when the Browns get destroyed by the Tits week 1. Gayfield and his uppity niggas need to be put in their place.
Not destroyed, but I have the Titans winning that game 24-20. I actually think the Browns are going to start 0-3 next year and will finish 8-8 or 9-7.
Did he died?
Since 2012, Hawks have had to deal with a 12-4 Niners (went to Super Bowl/NFC Championship), 13-3 Cards (went to NFC Championship), and a 13-3 Rams team (went to Super Bowl)
In that same time, there have been zero great AFCE teams other than lol the pats. Why the fuck is that?
>teams replicate the numerous performances last year where trubisky sucked against good defenses
>secondary takes step back after two new DBs arent as good and/or havent adapted (callahan and amos were top 10 at nickel and safety by pff grades)
>defense in total takes step back when guy calling plays hasnt had a good defense in years can't replicate the job of the guy who spent years hand crafting the defense, getting to understand key players, and calling top units
>secondary doesnt hold up as well when agressive blitzing doesnt actually help when veteran QBs have years of experience knowing how to exploit lack of defenders in the backfield and blowing up mismatches in man coverage or chunking yards in zone (hint, teams have been aggressively blitzing since the 00s, everybody copied dom capers then rex ryan. fangio called up fewer blitzes on purpose)
>overconfident team underperforms by underestimating opponents and neglect certain training/practices for other objectives
>overconfident team loses underdog status and becomes demoralized after a few losses
>cant find kicker leading to demoralized team when they lose a few close games to missed kicks, general scoring production drops
>defense loses faith in trubisky or le blitz man after a poor showing or two
obviously this won't all happen, but any of these alone could completely derail a playoff push. A few of them in conjunction and its back to the dumpster, just look at jacksonville
>You think the dolphins tied 4 different playoff teams in the 4th quarter on the road? You think the falcons did?
Oh gee, if you single out two teams that didn't, it will make it seem more impressive. Except plenty of fucking teams went into the 4th quarter tying playoff teams. The fucking Dolphins, Titans, Lions, Steelers, and Jaguars all beat the eventual Super Bowl winner. Who gives a flying fuck? Nobody gives a shit about these "almost" stats except losers and cucks. In other words, you. Green Bay fans especially love this "almost" and "doesn't count" bullshit. The Packers would just never lose if their rabid fans' excuses counted for fucking anything, but they don't.
>can't comprehend different teams have different injuries? different schedules? that theres a difference in getting blown out and losing a bunch of close games? even a marginal upgrade can change the outcome of a few games, like new offense and 4 new starters?
You're the one that can't comprehend this you fucking idiot. The Packers are not the only team that made upgrades. EVERY FUCKING TEAM IN THE LEAGUE TRIED TO MAKE UPGRADES THIS YEAR. That's what EVERY team does EVERY year. And EVERY stupid fuck fan will argue their team got way better this year. Just like you.
The idea that the Packers are guaranteed to do better this year is fucking stupid. It's based on nothing but hope. The Packers came off a 6-9-1 season, and the "improvements" they made involved purging a long time stable head coach. History tells us that is not a recipe for an excellent season the following year, especially when the guy they're bringing on has never been a head coach.
"almost" beating a playoff team on the road counts for exactly fucking nothing. The Vikings "almost" beat the Patriots in Foxborough. They were tied with 15:36 remaining, right until the end of the 3rd quarter. Wowowow. They even kept the game to 1 touchdown with the Rams, and nearly beat the Bears at home! Vikings will be AMAZING in 2019!
>You think the dolphins tied 4 different playoff teams in the 4th quarter on the road? You think the falcons did?
The Giants beat the Texans on the road, the Bears at home, and kept the game extremely close against the Cowboys at home and on the road, lost to the Colts by 1 point, lost to the Eagles by a longshot field goal.
Of course, they ended up 5-11, just like the shitty Packers ended up 6-9-1. Losing a bunch of close games to playoff teams is a much more common occurrence than I think you realize. Hell, a lot of crappy teams can even claim to have beaten playoff teams or super bowl teams. The Packers are actually especially shitty because they only beat one playoff team: the Bears. At home. The Giants did better than them in that regard.
Hell, another random example: the Titans beat 4 playoff teams in the regular season, and even beat the eventual Super Bowl winner in the Patriots. Yet I don't think a single, rational, intelligent person would ever argue that this means the Titans are on the verge of improving by 4 wins this coming year because they made some roster upgrades.
they unironically could go 0-3 lmao
a lot of teams have really tough opening schedules. one way or another we're gonna see some goofy standings after the first 3-5 games.
This Bears roster is better than the Panthers during their Owl run
I'm gonna save this so that when the bears win and the narrative about them changes here I can boast about myself
Literally all of these can be spun for to be positive btw
He couldn't let the government secrets fall into the hands of terrorists.
nice list of teams that didnt face 4/5 playoff teams on the road. no, not all schedules are equal. Yeah most teams beat a playoff team, especially at home, because every division has a playoff team. Astute analysis.
also, no, not every team makes the same improvements in an offseason. How many teams signed 4 starters and drafted 2 first rounders? "hur dur well they ALL improve" fucking please
great fucking theory except several teams make multiple game improvements in a consecutive season every damn season. Its not some unicorn event, nor is it completely random. More often than not its the teams that added talent in the offseason, got luckier with injuries, and got into an easier schedule. Surprise, some teams are better or worse than their record indicates. You need to read between the lines to make any kind of accurate season predictions
The titans could easily make a 2 game improvement. The packers were only 2.5 wins away from being 9-7, and the .5 was the worst penalty call of the season.
Again, How did the bears improve by 9 wins with a rookie HC? How is it impossible that a packers team that has plenty talented players and a HOF QB can't put themselves in the playoff hunt? They cant win 3 more games than last year? I know youre insecure and desperate for them to suck, but you have to bring better fuel than pretending every team has the same schedule and makes the same improvements, and thus all the reason teams actually do improve between seasons doesn't count and it must be completely random or something
Doesnt he have like 8 4th quarter comebacks and 14 game winning drives in 3 years? That's pretty solid
If the jaguars move to London, how will the NFL divisions change? They can’t stay in the AFC South but every other division already has established rivalries that would torn apart by realignment
Brady left with the lead in 2007
He'll challenge this and win.
Compare the positions satan
There won't be a UK expansion. It's been teased for years, but it's just not going to happen...way too much change to how the season/divisions work, not including the laundry list of other hurdles it would require.
They'll stay. This is the same league that put Atlanta and Carolina in the NFC West before realignment.
It didn't work out for Jimmy Graham
Pick one. There's no way to make the logistics make sense. They'll continue to play a couple games per season across the Atlantic, and at most start a satellite "minor league" in Europe (but not before they expand in Canada and Mexico).
That is pretty ridiculous
i don’t really think americans would dominate football if they cared about it. but you’d absolutely dominate rugby. whitebois would get btfo hard.
That's a pretty reasonable take
my reasoning is footballers aren’t really the biggest strongest guys. they tend to be average because it requires such a high level of skill before anything else. america would be competitive and good if they cared but would not dominate.
but if an NFL team did some endurance training and practiced rugby for a few years they’d probably beat any team on the planet because sheer physicality plays such a role.
I agree, Brady should be at least 105
The US is already one of the top teams in 7s rugby, the rugby code currently played at the Olympics. Their team is two former D2 football players/track athletes and a bunch of experienced rugby players who pass to the former footballers and watch the fireworks. That's maybe a bit reductive but the US would absolutely field an internationally competitive rugby 15s team if they were well-funded and organized enough to do it. They're actually not exactly horrible right now, just clearly not competitive with the 9 or so sides in the sport's upper echelon.
Fags suck and are forced on you poor guys. Pick the Rams a superior non-flyover team, makes sense if you're a Arsenal fan too.
They play in London this year too, against the Bungles. So you'll be able to watch one of their games at a resonable hour.
How did this guy turn into such an arrogant fuck? I was told that he was a team player. How does he think he's worth 33-plus million and what it would do to the rest of the team? Does he have no appreciation for all the extra marketing opportunities he gets simply by being the Cowboys QB? Is it an inferiority complex towards Carson Wentz that he simply HAS to get more money?
Attached: Dak-Prescott-viewed-as-an-_undervalued_-player-1024x574.jpg (1024x574, 148K)
He places that high with a crippled Gronk, drugged out Josh Gordon, an Edelman missing 4 games, and Chris Hogan? Impressive.
He's low-IQ. He literally thinks they can pay him, Zeke, Amari, Jaylon, and DeMarcus top at their position, and still have a competitive team. That it will just work out magically.
Attached: room-temp-IQ.webm (1280x720, 2.67M)
He’s been getting paid 6 figures most of his career, you’d want money too
It's amazing how close they were to cutting him and Garret and somehow just getting Amari Cooper is supposed to have fixed everything.
Why isn't 25 million enough? Again, most great former Cowboys make money their whole lives for no reason other than being great Cowboys.
cool story, i can google history too!
...
Here, let's look at how each team did w/l vs the playoff teams(Patriots, Chiefs, Texans, Ravens, Chargers, Colts, Saints, Rams, Bears, Cowboys, Seahawks, Eagles).
Just as a stat ahead of time, the average number of road games an NFL team plays against teams that make the playoffs is exactly 3. The Packers played 1 more road game against playoff teams than average. So did ELEVEN other NFL teams. The Packers vs playoff teams have the 8th best winning percentage in 2018 of those teams that have played 4 road games. So 8th/11. Here, I'll even provide both tables in my next reply so you can look at it however you want. Because the simple truth is the Packers were not uniquely screwed in their 2018 schedule. They faced slightly more adversity than average as far as road games vs playoff teams, and fared worse overall against playoff teams in general than the likes of the Bengals, Titans, Jaguars, and Giants. There are like 10 other teams that had to face more playoff teams/same number of road games. And yet they similarly finished with 6-10 esque records. The Packers in 2018 were no different than the Dolphins, Jaguars, Giants, and so on and so forth. Just a bad team.
In other words, your citing of this point is irrelevant and indicates precisely nothing.
DURRRR. BIG NUMBERS MEAN RELEVANT!
Thanks for outing yourself as a statistics brainlet. By your retarded logic, nothing can be derived from any NFL statistics because the season is too short at only 16 games. By your same retarded logic, we can derive plenty of meaningful data from yard differential because those numbers are way bigger.
basketball does not require the most skill, it fucking sucks in the modern era. might have been true 20-30 years ago, but the game now is terrible.
fewer games is better. the nba and mlb games dont matter until the last 20-30 games of the season. the first 50 games are superfluous fluff that nobody cares about. nfl is superior. every single game matters the whole season because they all have a big impact. in the nfl its like every regular season game has the same importance as playoff games in other sports.
nfl is highest skill, highest entertainment, best sport.
Big Ben is the least reddit QB as he is a rapist
oh look a wojak poster. into the trash he goes
While in a very, very broad general sense having a bigger sample size is good, it isn't necessary for statistical significance. What matters more is what you're saying with the data, whether the data gathered with the sample size used can be extrapolated to the general population, or in some cases how much of available data has been captured. It has become a popular trend for people ignorant of statistics/layman/retards to criticize sample size for data or study conclusions that they don't like because they think it makes them sound smart.
But especially in this instance, it's fucking stupid. Because the data I'm referencing is the 2018 season and vs playoff teams. I literally cited every possible data point within that area. Criticizing the sample size is nonsensical, because it is the entire possible sample.
Sam Darnold is reddit
imagine having sex
care to explain? why is a QB reddit?
around blacks, never relax
>Impressive someone went through all the work to format these horrifically wrong guesses
...Those aren't guesses, you fucking moron. Those are results from the 2018 season of team results against playoff teams.
Phillip Based Rivers is the least reddit QB
Will he ever win the BIG GAME?
He plays for the most reddit team
No. I'm not even kidding when I say 28-3 emotionally crippled him.
Just fast forward to 2:40 when he tries to talk about 28-3. His voice cracks, lots of deep gulps. He'll never get over it.
those are the eyes of a broken man.
this argument is garbage
Jets are a Yea Forums team. Yea Forums loves loser cuck teams that only win once in a while. They hate teams that win a lot or really popular teams. You know, teams that don't appeal to the edgy contrarian. That's why Yea Forums is Aaron Rodgers turf. Jets. Ravens. etc etc. Cuck teams.
Damn you're like triple retarded
Attached: Untitled4.png (424x254, 18K)
Holy fuck imagine losing in the fucking superbowl when the score was 28-3 deep in the 3rd
what the fuck? Did that happen? oh no no no
JUSTlanta
Attached: 1561786265921.jpg (593x578, 106K)
no. shitty teams Yea Forums goes for are teams like the lions or bears or the jags when they weren't annoying. the jest are just a team everyone likes to make fun of.
I want the Jets to do well but I think Darnold is too soft to really lead a team. I just don't see guys really putting their all in for a guy like him. He's too nice. He's basically Andrew Luck without any talent.
so hes andrew luck
Why couldn't the Browns do what everyone wanted them to do and draft that bust Darnold? Everyone thought Mayfield was going to the Jets, would have been a match made in heaven.
>darnold is a bust
hes a good QB, but holy fuck bowles is a terrible coach. sure gase isnt amazing, but i have faith in the kid. hes young so theres time to bounce back
Be honest. Do you seriously think Darnold will ever go anywhere in the NFL? I know it's his rookie year and all, and Peyton Manning had a bad rookie year...but I just don't see it with Darnold. He's the type of guy who disappears after a few seasons.
your post is reddit lmao xD
yes. I believe he can because anything is possible. maybe mayfield is a fucking fraud this season and the jets go 10-6 and make playoffs. shit is speculation right now
darnold is a game manager at best
Gase is the wrong choice, though.
Eli is the least reddit quarterback.
Would you mind leaving? We had a whole thread without you or that other shithead posting in this general and it was kinda nice.
what is the point of this picture
Still banned, OldGay?
How many QBs have actually won a SB after losing their first one? I can only think of Elway.
Today, I heard someone describe Lamar Jackson as "an amazing young qb".
Why are people so dumb?
At one point he was >zero playoff wins, and he did overcome that.
He played pretty damn good in that game.
Attached: ice.png (466x872, 43K)
well the packers schedule was still hard, even if it wasnt among the hardest
giants played cowboys and eagles twice, with 10 and 9 wins respectively. jags played the texans and colts, with 11 and 10 wins
even if the packers did have a top 10 hardest schedule, if it gets easier, thats part of the reason why they could improve total wins
not to mention the packers kept all their playoff opponents tied in the 4th quarter (13 win rams, 12 win bears twice, 11 win pats, 10 win hawks), where a lot of those teams just got blown out against good team, even at home
MUH DEFENSE
berd turds
Well griese played in the NFL while wearing glasses so maybe
Attached: bon griese.jpg (641x750, 78K)
No, he was the other "shithead" I was referring to. It would be kinda nice if you both left. Forever.
Gruden inherited a worst case scenario Top 3 defense and didn't have time to install his own offense for the season they went to the Superb Owl.
It was quite literally someone else's team that carried him to a championship.
He's dogshit at everything except, possibly, training QBs. You just sort of have to take that on faith because he hasn't ruined one yet. Unlike front offices, teams, and franchises.
>where a lot of those teams just got blown out against good team, even at home
Except just as many of them kept the games extremely close against those playoff teams, as I already illustrated earlier in the thread. The Giants kept pretty much all of their vs playoff teams games close. The Titans played NINE games against playoff teams, and won 4 of them even with 4 road games. The Bengals beat two playoff teams. So on and so forth.
There's tons of 6-10 type teams that manage close games against playoff teams, even 1 seed or 2 seed teams, that ultimately fail. That "tied at the start of the 4th quarter" thing is a useless meme stat. Some of these underdog teams were beating the playoff teams early on and lost, or even led going into the 4th quarter etc etc.
All of it boils down to nothing. Citing close games vs playoff teams with the Packers is irrelevant precisely because there's like 10 other teams with similar records that did the same thing or BEAT those teams. Nothing changes that they were 6-10 crap teams, nor are they poised to do better next year with easier schedules.
I guess in a nutshell, your argument is just irrelevant speculation with no bearing on how the Packers will actually do in 2019. Nobody cares about "almost", because it means nothing.
Skins dreams man. They need him back to coach Haskins up either way.
Wow. An actual fucking retard.
Do you not recognize the actual results from the 2018 season?
I think Haskins will be a mega bust, I was never impressed with him at OSU
I agree but right now he's the hometown hero.
Cool story, bro.
no it doesnt mean nothing, you cant just pretend it does. Its very useful information in projecting changes in an nfl season, which I'm doing. Dont you think the 6-10 team that played a bunch of close games might be better than the 6-10 team that got blown out 10 times?
By extension you could say yards dont matter, or touchdowns, or interceptions, or time of possesion, all that matters is wins and losses. Its just a very narrow and dogmatic perspective that basically admits defeat from trying to project a following season. Just because you can name a handful of teams that also played close games against good teams doesnt invalidate the fact that one particular team was part of the group, nor does it invalidate that not every playoff team is the same, not every game was played at home or on the road, and neither was each "close" game equally competitive.
giants played 2 opponents with 12 or more wins. They got blown out at home and beat the other at home. Packers played 3 opponents with 12 or more wins. Beat one at home, tied the two on the road in the 4th quarter. Youre just acting like these are identical situations without any further analysis.
you can say we don't have enough evidence to make sufficient claims without further statistical analysis, but acting like it means nothing is just as bad as overreacting to minor differences in the situations
Name 1 reason why Tom Brady shouldn’t use his huge wealth to commission Jostens to make a custom Patriots infinity gauntlet specially made to fit his 6 rings
Does anyone have a .webm of Donte Jackson picking off >balding fraud and taking it the whole length of the field for a two-point conversion last year?
Webms are for faggots but I’ll have a gif of it in 10 minutes
Your passive aggressiveness combined with the political hamfisting in 90% of conversations is why people hate you. Aside from being a meming cringe lord anyway, but that’s typical of all tripfags trying to fit in.
>no it doesnt mean nothing, you cant just pretend it does. Its very useful information in projecting changes in an nfl season, which I'm doing.
No, it isn't. I'm illustrating exactly why it isn't useful. By that exact same logic you'd have to project a leap for every team that did BETTER than the Packers against playoff teams who are now facing easier schedules. You'd have to project the Dolphins being a playoff team in 2019 using your same logic since they only improved the roster this year and finished 7-9 last year and did BETTER than the Packers did against playoff teams.
Now do this with every other team on the list that did better/made upgrades and suddenly you have like 90% of the league projected to finish 10-6 or better. There is always one winner and loser in a game, obviously, and that just can't happen. The problem here is you're trying to project that the Packers have these unique circumstances, and I've already shown it isn't unique and it isn't indicative of anything. You just stubbornly ignore it because you love the Packers.
>Dont you think the 6-10 team that played a bunch of close games might be better than the 6-10 team that got blown out 10 times?
No, not really. This never really happens to begin with, as every team we're discussing maybe had a few blowout losses and a bunch of close games too. I don't think the 2018 Packers are of noticeably different quality to, say, the Bengals, or Dolphins, or Giants.
Winning by a lot or a little actually doesn't reflect overall team strength very well unless it's a consistent habitual pattern, and it almost never is.
>By extension you could say yards dont matter, or touchdowns, or interceptions, or time of possesion
They matter, but they're terrible metrics for projecting team success. And again, it would require a consistent pattern, and that's very rare in football with these weaker teams.
The quality is shit but here it is
Attached: Donte Jackson pick 2.gif (533x300, 3.98M)
Just because you can name a handful of teams that also played close games against good teams doesnt invalidate the fact that one particular team was part of the group
It invalidates the idea that that team had some kind of unique circumstance that would help propel them to multiple extra wins the next season. The fact that close loss games against playoff teams is so common is indicative that I'm correct in assuming that it's an irrelevant observation.
>nor does it invalidate that not every playoff team is the same, not every game was played at home or on the road, and neither was each "close" game equally competitive.
And yet even if we get into that minutiae, it will still mean practically nothing, because the truth is with a lot of those games, they had weird results. Bad teams beating good teams in a road game, but losing easier games at home. Saints losing to the Bucs at home but beating much harder teams on the road etc. None of those details really mean much for the 2019 season. You're desperately trying to have it mean something specifically for the Packers, and it just doesn't.
>Packers played 3 opponents with 12 or more wins. Beat one at home, tied the two on the road in the 4th quarter. Youre just acting like these are identical situations without any further analysis.
And we can look at any of the other teams I listed and come up with identical results, except in their cases a few of those bad teams came up with WINS over those playoff teams, not "almost close losses", which are way worse.
hahaha imagine if he wore that and then demanded he lick the soles of your feet because he was all powerful hahaha gross
All you do is bitch and moan, I didn't realize my Mom took a break from reddit.
“You”. Who the fuck is “you”? I’m not old gay you obsessed retard. Why is it so hard to process NO ONE LIKES YOU.
>Jags when they weren't annoying.
This was when?
Darnold is also younger than Mayfield.
I don't understand why people keep putting him in the QB lists. You wouldn't put your forks and spoons in the same dishwasher side bin, would you?
Eh...I never hear anyone say Vick or Kaepernick weren't QBs even though they were both prolific running quarterbacks. Same with Aaron Rodgers to an extent. The only difference is Lamar is currently an exceptionally poor thrower. But he's still basically a bad Michael Vick.
>Old Gay posts anonymously while trip banned.
I hate old gay, and that isn't old gay. He doesn't act anything like him. You, on the other hand, stick out like a sore thumb.
Everyone fucking hates both of you. This isn't a secret.
Fins. And it hurts.
Hard to get a 99 on a fucking trash team
again youre compartmentalizing playoff teams as if they are all the same, and acting like playing them on the road and home are the same too
Dolphins played 4 opponents with 11 or more wins, beat two of them at home, got blown out in two road games. Your whole arguement is based off that being analogous to the packers, who played 3 close games on the road against 11 win teams, and one win at home. Youre just acting like theyre the same situation
>a lot of those games, they had weird results. Bad teams beating good teams in a road game, but losing easier games at home
absolutely, in fact its better evidence for the competency of teams that consistently played playoff teams close, like the packers, unlike the giants, dolphins, and jaguars. That differential variance drops dramatically over a multiple game sample, especially for a team that didnt get blown out all against any playoff team, unlike the dolphins, giants, jags
This is just one factor in forecasting. You started to question the validity of the schedule factor, it was never the basis of my arguement
We know the packers added more talent than the giants and dolphins. Its a toss up with the jags, as they added the better players but less total. Giants were rated 8th in adjusted games lost to injury, packers were 21st, miami was 22nd, jags were 27th. If they all regressed to the mean, giants would lose more games, packers and miami would win somewhat more, jags would win quite a few more. Packers were higher than giants in yards and points, and significantly more than jags and dolphins. Packers were also higher in defense yards and points ranking than the giants and dolphins too.
Every year some below average team makes a rebound and improves. More often than not its the team that had the most going for it. Out of the list of teams, the one with the best offense, defense, better performance against good teams, and added the most talent is the likeliest one (I expect a jags rebound too anyway)
My wife!
Jags played the pats, chiefs, cowboys, texans twice, eagles, colts twice with 8 teams total, 4 on the road with an average win total of 10.625. Their average point differential was -8.88 with st.dev of 14.01
packers played bears twice, rams, pats, hawks total of 5 teams, 4 on the road, with an average wins of 11.6. Their average point diff was -5 with st.dev of 5.79
giants played cowboys twice, texans, saints, eagles twice, bears, and colts, with an average wins of 10.5. Average point diff of zero with st.dev of 3.66
dolphins played pats twice, bears, texans, and colts with an average wins of 11. Average point diff was -9.8, st.dev of 14. 67
teams ranked by point differential: giants, packers, jags, dolphins
teams ranked by opponent wins: packers, dolphins, jags, giants
teams ranked by point diff variance: giants, packers, dolphins, jags
packers were probably the best given second highest point diff, highest % of playoff caliber games on the road, second lowest point diff variance, and highest average of opponent total wins
forgot to mention, giants played 4 of 8 teams on the road
>Dolphins played 4 opponents with 11 or more wins, beat two of them at home, got blown out in two road games. Your whole arguement is based off that being analogous to the packers, who played 3 close games on the road against 11 win teams, and one win at home. Youre just acting like theyre the same situation
No, I'm not pretending they're the same. I'm making the argument that the difference between the two is completely irrelevant and that those outcomes have no correlation to anything and are not indicative of fucking anything. It has absolutely zero bearing on how well the Packers will do in 2019. It's statistical voodoo nonsense. The difference is so negligible and theoretical that it doesn't warrant consideration. You making these cutoffs and distinctions between 10/11/12 wins or point differentials or whatever else is just useless fluff. It doesn't translate to team strength or wins. Unless you can demonstrate some kind of history of teams with "close games" with playoff teams like this translating into successful next seasons or surges in strength and some shit, you're just jerking off with pointless stats that mean nothing. Which is precisely what you're doing.
Point differentials, close games, going tied into the 4th with playoff teams. None of it MEANS anything. It doesn't even translate into a single win. We're talking about theoretical partial credit FOR LOSING. It's just nonsensical theorycrafting.
>adjusted games lost to injury
Ugh...the ultimate fucking meme stat. Why are Packers fans so obsessed with "what if" and "doesn't count", and "if only", and "we just need more help", "we weren't healthy". The endless obsession with excuses is just sickening.
>Packers fan thinks Packers are the most poised for a rebound out of all the teams that played like shit in 2018
Gee, I'm shocked.
I also want to point out how doubly fucking stupid this argument is because the Packers also barely edged out fucking awful teams like the 49ers by a field goal, the Redskins blew them out by two touchdowns, the Lions fucking destroyed them(I know, I know...DOESNT COUNT because Rodgers faked an injury to avoid embarrassment), they went to overtime with the FUCKING JETS etc. Got swept by the Lions and couldn't even put away the mediocre Vikings. Consistently struggling and losing to average and weak teams. But that can't be a pattern, yet a few close games against good teams IS a pattern. It means the Packers are poised to skyrocket in 2019. Let's just ignore all the other disfunction. Your argument is just ridiculous and biased as all fucking hell.
The point being you're specifically trying to craft a narrative on a specific set of games as being significant and a pattern, but it isn't. You labeling all of them close games is even a stretch. Losing 31-17 to the Patriots isn't really a "close game". But according to you it is because they were tied at the start of the 4th quarter. Most people, regardless, are not going to consider that a "close game" when one team wins by two touchdowns.
All of it boils down to you quibbling over whether the Packers have some imaginary advantage over trash teams like the Jaguars, Giants, or Dolphins when it comes to 2019. Not even good teams, just the trash piles.
Was with you until you called Jacksonville a trash team. You've argued so passionately against this user only to say something retarded... :(
absolutely love this boomer sport lads
Baseball is the boomer sport, and basketball is the zoomer sport. Football is somewhere inbetween
damn those packer fans, always so optimistic
what can be done to make running back a more coveted position? all my favorite players ever are running backs, makes me sad to see the league value them so little lads.
youtube.com/watch?v=kx0nh2St3kQ
B-Dawk was soooo good.
There is a difference between optimism and delusion. Optimism is "I hope we're good in 2019 even though we spilled our spaghetti in 2018. go Pack". Delusion is "We were better than most teams in 2018 and it's supported by statistics that we'll be good in 2019 because (excuses for losing) (conjecture) (overvaluing the fuck out of prospects) (statistics mental gymnastics)"
>Was with you until you called Jacksonville a trash team.
I'm sorry, user. They were trash in 2018. Not in general. And like the Packers, not everything about their team is bad, but as a whole product, it was last year.
running isn't as flashy as passes, but anyone with an actual brain knows that the run game is immensely important. There was a post a couple threads ago that showed that most of 2018's playoff teams had more run-heavy offenses than the league average. The run game gives much more ball and clock control than a pass heavy offense; it can function as a defensive tool beyond its inherent role in the offensive design by strangling out the time the opposing team has to work with.
I don't know what can do to make the RB a more coveted position, but don't downplay its value. it is very important and it seems to me that every team without a competent run game ultimately gets exposed.
The absolute madman
he kinda seems like a jerk on the field
It's probably cause this is the first time the Packers have missed the playoffs 2 seasons in a row since 2005-06. We're not used to being bad so we delude ourselves into thinking it won't last. This season... maybe we'll make the playoffs? I dunno. We have the pieces to make the playoffs, it's about staying healthy for fucking once too.
They unironically drafted too well these past 5 years.
I say that as an iggles fan
Imagine drafing so well for 5 years you cant afford to pay you players and still not winning anything
It's quite impressive tbhwyf
He talks shit without cursing, kind of odd to me. I have mixed feelings about him not because of that, but rather him having stacked teams in the 2000s and still not being able to get over that hump.
He's just a microcosm of San Diego sports: look good for awhile, shits the bed when it matters, and never wins anything meaningful.
I'm just reading a lot of nuh uh doesnt count means nothing blah blah
theres analytic firms that make real cash betting of football, they have to be using this data for something, because theres no other data for them to use
some amount of teams make multiple win improvements literally every season, its not uniformly random. its way more likely the teams that played close games, put up more numbers than other teams in their bracket, and fixed roster holes, like the jags, falcons, packers, browns, maybe redskins and buccs, but I think they still have some holes. you can just invalidate whatever data you'd like, our opinions mean nothing anyway
wow a team with a losing record had some ugly games, so did every team with a losing record in the league. I'm trying to look for patterns that do differentiate the teams, as well as whatever season situations that can seperate them. I dont think any team sub 8 wins didn't suck
in the end a 9 win season is only a 2.5 win improvement anyway. Sure my arguements won't individually yield much a difference, but if only a few of my several arguements come true, its no stretch of the imagination that at team that does have talent could be in the playoff hunt
go ahead hit me with some "trash team washed up QB get blown out blah blah" I won't even read it. I'm here for the number and strategy, its my hobby, so feel free to share some arguements a little more concrete instead
literally no first year packers coach has made the playoff. I'm sure theres not relation but its kind of a curse to some
I'd just hate to see them squander the talent in the run game, more slow unimaginative drives, and losing to dumb situational football like special teams fumbles
As a healthy starting QB, Tom Brady missed the playoffs exactly once: 2002. His team missed the playoffs once because of an injury to him, 2008.
As a healthy starting QB, Peyton Manning missed the playoffs twice: 1998 (rookie season) and 2001. His team missed the playoffs once because of an injury to him, 2011.
As a healthy starting QB, Aaron Rodgers missed the playoffs twice: 2008 and 2018. His team missed the playoffs once because of an injury to him, 2017.
As a healthy starting QB, Drew Brees missed the playoffs nine times (2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016).
One of these things is not like the others.
Kirk Cousins will be paid $27.5 million dollars this year.
>I'm just reading a lot of nuh uh doesnt count means nothing blah blah
It's not my fault you're insistent on finding meaning in statistics that mean nothing. You're not correlating your findings to anything. You're just comparing point differentials and trying to give losses some type of theoretical value like you can find out how good or bad a team is by their losses, or that it will translate into how good they are the next year. Do you even get how insane all of that is? If you're having to look at a team's LOSSES to see a silver lining, that should already tell you you're in trouble.
>its way more likely the teams that played close games, put up more numbers than other teams in their bracket, and fixed roster holes
Then prove it with examples. Until then, you're just making shit up. Because you haven't shown that those stats correlate, only that you theorize that they do for this particular season.
>you can just invalidate whatever data you'd like, our opinions mean nothing anyway
See above. I'm ignoring the statistics you're citing because you haven't shown that they're meaningful or predictive. It seems abundantly obvious to me that you've latched onto them because at a distance, it looks convenient for the team you like.
> I'm trying to look for patterns that do differentiate the teams, as well as whatever season situations that can seperate them.
At least be honest. You are looking for excuses for your favorite team because they did badly last season. You are trying to convince YOURSELF they will do better next year. That's all this is.
It's okay to explore those stats for curiosity's sake. It's interesting and I like looking at that stuff too, but it just doesn't mean much in real football terms. You can do all of that digging and comparison and it's not going to do a single thing to change pic related or something close to it from happening.
As a healthy starting QB, Patrick Mahomes missed the playoffs zero times.
Patrick Mahomes II has never beaten the Patriots in his career, and has lost to them twice.
The only thing Tyreek Hill is guilty of is having rough sex. Literally fucking it.
Look at these pictures of Crystal from 2014, There's nothing there. In the court documents.
A. Yes. He had my hair. And he was grabbing it and,
and tossing me around the room.
Q. So was the fact that he had hold of your hair, did that cause you to be tossed around the room?
A. Yes.
3 Q. Okay. Were you able to get away from him?
4 A. He was pounding my head against the wall. And he eventually stopped.
AND THEN LATER
Q. Did you see any damage to the apartment? I'm
sorry.
22 Did you see any damage to Mr. Hill's's room?
23 A. I didn't note any damage to his room, no.
24 Q. Any damage to his door or anything of that
nature?
25 A. There was none noted.
Exactly 0 college players are going to punch a human being in the face and not leave a bruise.
And that's not a busted lip. That shits not even swollen.
Left side of the neck is a hicky.
Right side, idk what that even is. It looks like a scrape.
you sound like you badly want to believe that you aint rooting for a wife beating and child beating monster. sorry to say, you are.
>Tyreek Hill is a monster, a fucking heinous monster, if you EVEN so try and SAY he brutally, ruthlessly beat his pregnant girlfriend YOU ARE HUMAN SCUM, and you SUPPORT DOMESTIC ABUSE AND SUPPORT CHILD BEATING MONSTERS
>Pic related, look at her the same night at the ER, look at her badly beaten in face, her purple and black eye, and bruised cover neck, thats TOTALLY not a hickey from sex they admitted to having right before the incident
If Hill wanted to hurt Crystal what so ever, there'd be far more visible evidence from an NFL caliber collegiate athlete. I've got friends into rough sex and BDSM, she looks like after just about literally every date night ever.
They had sex right before.
From the court documents.
MS. RAMSEY: Have you ever been bruised or had hickeys because of sex with him before?
ESPINAL: Yes.
Q. Okay. So when was the last time that you had sex with him prior to this supposedly occurring?
A. That day."
thats some nice lawyer snake misleading that you fell for there. notice he didnt ask if she got a hickey during the sex that happened during that day, but only asked if she had gotten them before. typical snake misdirection.
i see the pictures, and i see a battered woman. im sorry you hate woman and want to cheer on a womanbeating monster but stop pretending he isnt.
Through old-fashioned networking and investigative research, we have spoken to one of the attending nurses who distinctly remembers the incident.
While this person will not go on record and demanded to remain anonymous, they shared concern that Espinal was never punched in the stomach as claimed.
This person also indicated that some (not all) hospital staff had doubts on the actuality of the injuries, with some staff concerned about the possibility of self-infliction.
Lastly — and this part might be difficult to read for some — sources informed us that Crystal was into a rougher variety of intimacy than others might be accustomed to.
As we will detail later, both parties have admitted to engaging in consensual sex on December 11, 2014, just hours before the ER visit and arrest.
She omitted this to police in her original report, and yet it came out in a deposition in early 2015 as both sides prepared for trial.
20 MS. RAMSEY: Your Honor, we would object to
21 these being admitted into evidence for the reason they don't
22 show anything at all. Most of the items -- most of the
23 photographs show no injuries whatsoever or alleged injuries
24 whatsoever. And we would object to them being admitted into
25 evidence.
DISTRICT COURT OF OKLAHOMA-OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT-COPY 21 1 THE COURT: Show the objection is overruled.
Also that they found no bleeding on her scalp from being "swung around by the hair" or from "head being repeatedly slammed into the wall" or the likely damage to the drywall from that force
>assumes they were banned for making fun of the patriots
>cannot suspend disbelief that they are in fact annoying, retarded and gay; and literally nobody wants them around
>immediately starts complaining once ban ends because it's always important to remind admins that you're ten years old
And he will earn every penny of it from his back.
You see a battered woman because you're desperately looking for one, because you're either a whiteknighting cuck or you want to see a black man's life destroyed by an opportunistic shitbag. There is absolutely no damage done to her body or face (aside from the marks on her neck which would be just about fucking anything). If she had actually been attacked by anyone seeking to do REAL harm, this woman she would be in much, much worse condition.
In conclusion, you're a faggot. Kill yourself.
...
>You must be a /pol/tard if you think the pictures of abuse, and the evidence left does not match up with the claims by Crystal
Didn't Hill punch his toddler son in the chest? Who cares about the girl?
Don't encourage him. I hope you realize the past like 10 posts were all the same rabid zealot trying to shill Hill's innocence.
yes /pol/ is for incels like you that hate women and say incel things like cuck and whiteknight
I'm not the person you replied too with
It's funny how you assume we're the same people though.
>aha you thought there was only one incel but there were, in fact, two!
oh okay
Once again
>if you think the pictures of abuse, and the evidence left does not match up with the claims by Crystal you're a /pol/tard incel
>Saying Incel Things like "Cuck and White Knight"
>Not realizing saying the word incel itself sounds just as bad as cuck and white knight
good fucking lord. Imagine being so dense evidence can be presented infront of you and you dismiss it. Tell me how those pictures show so called "Injuries" that'd equate to more than rough sex?
Picture related, Photo of some of the abuse of Greg Hardy's assault on Nicole Holder. Notice how everything is easily visible VS crystal.
Crystal, admittedly into rough sex has signs of a hickey, some light strangulation which once again, is a common practice in rough sex. She also has admitted to having had bruises from rough sex with Hill before. Ontop of that she admitted to having sex with Hill that day.
Now we go back to Crystals claims of being slammed against a wall multiple times, being picked up by her head and slammed into the wall. Now why is it that there was no dents or damage in the dry wall? Why is it Tyreek's apartment when investigated did not have any damage to the door, or room despite Crystals claim that she had indeed been tossed around the room.
Why is it that despite being picked up by an NFL star, and so called being hit and punched she doesn't signs of visible abuse like Nicole Holder here?
To believe Hill is this abusive demon, who did all of what Crystal claims Hill did, and then looking at the actual evidence it is blatantly and painfully obvious nothing in the story of what happens adds up.
What Crystal is doing only hurts actual victims of abuse, and it's obvious she wasn't one.
Nobody gives a fuck about a battered concubine or a crippled niglet
holy fucking autism batman, look at this dude. i mean there's incels and then there's this guy.
>Has no arguments against the points made in the most
Tell me wheres the evidence?
the evidence is on with the other incels. you will fit right in my friend.
You'd think the way the media talked about Hill "Beating" his pregnant girlfriend we'd have seen pictures like this. When Chris Brown beat Rihanna.
Instead, we have this.
once again, you've got no actual argument when having been presented with actual evidence, and not sensationalist journalism. Real abuse victims, look like they've been put through a ringer, not like they just got done with a night of rough sex.
Attached: file.png (1100x747, 1.41M)
ah yes, and all abusive husbands arent beating their women, just having rough sex. i guess hill was having rough sex with his son too. incel logic.
How come you ignore each and every example I've brought up of actual women being abused? Then you proceed to do a strawman argument, misrepresenting the point I make, and implying that I believe abuse victims do not exist.
If you've ever seen domestic abuse victims, it's a lot worse than what's shown in
Instead you keep refusing to address any point I've brought up.
On the child abuse case, there is no evidence either Tyreek Hill ever abused his kid. There's evidence of child abuse on his son, but both parents IE: Crystal, and Tyreek admit to having used a belt on their kid for corporal punishment. The state were unable to determine which parent went too far. Crystal Espinal also has, in public made concerning statements about her opinions on child abuse.
Once again though, I wouldn't expect someone who can't have proper discourse have all the information on a case they preach their opinions on.
