stop linking me these bums, anyone who cares is watching
Alexander Wright
he can but hes too timid that body shot hurt vargas, kameda should have pressed him
Eli Ortiz
Last Round
Ethan Martinez
kameda was one of the most exciting fighters to me back when he was robbed by mcdonald seems like hes a shadow of himself to be honest
Josiah Scott
Jerking off to some shit and have thevargas fight in in the background. Looks like shit every time I look over.
Excited for the espn fight though
Hunter Perez
No, this is her. She's in the audience too.
Jaxson Harris
What was the unsportsmanlike conduct for?
Christopher Adams
Kameda is rudo tier Ref is tirantes tier
Jaxon Nguyen
terence 'bud' crawford holding up the belts
Blake Hill
kameda was VERY clearly more powerful and durable than vargas. he had everything he needed to win this fight, except the aggression
Lincoln Brooks
Kameda won the fight
Jose Wright
Vargas is P4P the most boring world champion
Joshua Howard
Hitting on the break.
Luke Taylor
God vargas isn't that exciting of a fighter.
Gabriel Powell
People only say this when they're mad with who won, Vargas very easily controlled the Jap.
Evan Sanchez
Damn they're really showering him with boos lel
Jaxon Ward
He controlled the fight and kameda sealed his fate with his cheating
Mason Long
It's crazy that the Mexican crowd is booing the Mexican.
Owen Robinson
Eat a dick, spic faggot
Liam Sanchez
Kameda fought like the Mexican though.
Ryder Turner
He fought like a bitch.
Isaac Cruz
stupid fuckin thing to say. dumb casual fan
Brandon Reyes
Golden Boy just had one of the best cards I've seen in months.
Christopher Taylor
Nobody watching Tupac fight?
Charles Hill
I watched it
Juan Collins
The card wasn't THAT good, they had a better card like a month ago. The main event for this one was a bit of a stinker.
Juan Diaz
the commentators talking about if vargas fighting mexican was hilarious cope
"h-he is fighting mexican, the new *pause* smart mexican style"
kameda got too frustrated and should have focused more on fighting out of the clinch rather than letting it slide until the end. he lost and he knew it and he let it happen, hell of an entertaining fighter tho.
Vargas is a really sneaky clincher. When Kameda goes in, Vargas would hold on then just rest his shoulders and arms around Kameda to make it looks like hes not the one initiating the clinch. Making it really hard for Kameda to get things off when hes up close.
Still though, Kameda wasnt throwing enough punches to the body when up close and overall and let Vargas zone him out for really long periods of time which makes the fight really easy to score for Vargas.
If Kemeda cant make mid-fight adjustments i cant see him ever winning a title at this weight. He doesnt have the power to just knock guys out at this level so cant just rely on the big shot whlie trying outshot in the center of the ring for most of several rounds in a fight.
Adam Evans
*tips fedora*
Adrian Scott
Any fights worth watching next weekend other than Thurman/Pac?
I know Dubois/Gorman and Joyce/other guy were pretty anticipated this weekend, but I skipped them as I didn't really find the matchups compelling. I heard Dubois looked good, though. Maybe he'll get a high-ranked guy next?
Adrian Hernandez
To me 117-110 by all 3 judges seems corrupt to me
Jack Cook
Run, throw a weak combo from the outside, clinch when Nip gets close, repeat.
Boring fighter, not looking for the fight.
Cooper Foster
couldn't find a stream so na not gonna contribute money to a woman beating nog
Michael King
I've had people try to do this to me and I just expose my sides with a high guard to bait a trade or if they want to clinch they can't grab me without being shoved off balance into body hooks, I was getting so frustrated watching kameda fall into the same clinch every time
also vargas could have made some huge left hooks every time kameda went for his overhand, he always shifted perfectly into position for it after his slip to his left
Jace Evans
nip should have fought better then, dont call say he fought like a bitch when it ended up working for him. nobody who steps in the ring is a bitch (except brits)
Liam Morgan
This. Weebs coming out in full force for this one. Vargas won fair and square, if you don't like it, follow a better fighter who can beat him.
Nicholas Martin
How would Naoya Inoue fare against Vargas? Could he get inside and avoid getting smothered by the clinch?
Jace Robinson
Looked like an exhibition
Ryder Rodriguez
literally all of them
Joshua Thomas
he'd beat the piss out of him
Adrian Green
nobody knows because inoue hasn't fought anyone bigger than the average 13 year old. he looks real good fighting pipsqueaks so it will be interesting to see when/if he moves up
Luke Gonzalez
He'd likely batter Vargas. Kameda had a similar fight with McDonnell 2x, who Inoue proceeded to beat into submission in under a round.
The moment Inoue beat McDonnell so easily was the moment I hopped off the Tomoki hypetrain. Years ago I thought he was the most promising Japanese fighter, but after seeing Inoue make such easy work of a fighter Tomoki struggled to even be competitive with made me realize how weak of a fighter Tomoki is.
It's not completely his fault, he's just not as naturally gifted as, say, Inoue.
Real power punchers have a way about them. They know they can destroy the opponent.
Brody Jackson
i thought kameda beat mcdonald in the first fight, and I think kameda vs inoue would have been more competitive. if only because kameda would be the most durable fighter inoue has fought. inoue would certainly win, but at least it would be a 2 hitter quitter like mcdonald
Brayden Watson
He's right, all of them are worth watching. Plant-Lee is probably the least worth watching out of the bunch, given it seems like it could be a mismatch, but at the same time Lee is an unknown quantity going into this fight given he's normally a Light Heavyweight. Dwyer gave a good rundown as to why an upset could happen in that bout.
Other than that all of them are good fights. Nery-Payano is going to be fireworks no matter what. Both guys are gutsy, scrappy fighters, Nery being the obvious favorite but if you watched Payano-Warren you know that Payano will NOT back down even if you throw everything and the kitchen sink at him. You have to switch his off button like Inoue did to stop him from fighting back. Lipinets-Molina is going to be an absolute WAR. Molina is obviously known for getting into nothing but wars, to the displeasure of his mental health, and Lipinets has also been known to be very scrappy. Ugas-Figueroa is an even matchup between two top 10 WWs that are worth keeping an eye on. Ugas is entertaining for a Cuban, and Figueroa can be pretty destructive. Again, good fight to watch. Thurman-Pacquiao sells itself.
Whyte-Rivas sells itself. Allen-Price is fun just to crown the biggest big stiff Britbum, both guys have enough power that it's a guaranteed highlight KO bout. Chisora-Szpilka is interesting, but ultimately doesn't matter who wins it. I personally think Szpilka is shot after the Wilder fight, so I think Chisora will take it. If Szpilka shows what he did during the Wilder fight it will be a good fight though.
Charles Nelson
Yeah pretty much. The hype for Inoue is unreal atm and unlike I’ve ever seen for an asian fighter barring pacquiao(GGG is not asian). Shame for Tomoki though was rooting for him.
Oliver Thompson
Are those chest tats? Whore.
Justin Gomez
I think that's her bra strap.
Aiden Williams
Based for not taking whores who have too many tattoos, cringe for mistaking a bra strap for a tattoo.
Nathaniel Nguyen
>Whore I wish there were subtitles for . She's actually super pure.
Michael Fisher
Final ruling: Whore. Incels, white knights, and general wimps BTFO.
Payano is very tricky and has a good chin, reckon the Nery fight will be alot closer than you reckon Nery isn't on Inoues level and is chinny ontop of that, would be a massacre if they fought imo
Samuel Cruz
Notice how I said; >You have to switch his off button like Inoue did to stop him from fighting back. Nery-Payano is going to be a great fight. It's not smart in terms of matchmaking in regards to the fact that Nery's performance will be compared to Inoue's, but I have the feeling Nery is the kind of guy who wants comparisons to be made. He might be too over confident in thinking he can compare to Inoue's KO of Payano, that's not something you can will into existence, it requires a good combination of luck, power, and skill, all 3 of which were completely on Inoue's side to end that fight as quickly as he did..
Gavin Moore
Appreciate the breakdown. I'll make sure I watch as much as I can, then. Thanks, user. Much love.
Caleb Sullivan
No problemo. Next week is IMO, the best weekend for Boxing we'll have all year, we're spoiled with two very good cards at two separate times on the same night.
Angel Kelly
Fuck the sky card, it's all BUMS. Don't let the Matchroom Mafia fool you
Jacob Foster
All these quality posts yet you neglect too mention the chaos that will unfold July 27th. Sell it user
Thomas Robinson
Stevenson is talented but if you're going to give him a headline card make him fight someone with a pulse.
I feel like Hooker-Ramirez sells itself if you've been paying attention to 140lb lately. In case you haven't, it's two of the top 4 in the division going at it. One guy who is going to be constantly marching forward to do damage, and another guy who can kind of be described as "Hitman" Hearns-esque both in how he fights (Though Hooker's right hand isn't nearly as devastating) and in his weird physique and build.
I'm just excited as hell due to the fact that all four of the top 4 are currently in fights with eachother. Hooker-Ramirez was unexpected while Prograis-Taylor was expected. I hope the winner of both those fights face off with eachother.
>Rocky Hernandez >Diego DLH >Angel Acosta >Linares >Machado >Sadam Ali >the Aussie who John Ryder beat >one Falcao brother >Rooster arm punching meme guy
have all lost
Munguia should have lost already and will get knocked out soon, Lemieux is fat and injured, Ryan Garcia will get exposed once they run out of starving Dominicans
it's only Canelo and Virgil Ortiz, unless I'm missing someone
Camden Allen
Why are the super welterweight champions all taller than the middleweights wtf
Dylan Harris
Ryan Garcia got exposed hard against that journeyman aswell
Frank Warren is a sly one, he knew Dubois would easily beat Gorman but knew the gypsyboos would talk him up as a threat
Connor Torres
Tbh it wasnt that hard to predict. Just by looking at resumes, Dubois has the much better one. I don't know why some people were that much hyped about it. The reality is that a lot of britbums get underseved hype just because they get some tv exposure against absolute cans and then suddenly they become "hot prospect", meanwhile Europe and a lot of Latin America is full of guys who are at the same level if not slightly better but don't get nearly the same attention because they are not backed by a powerful promoter and tv network.
Lincoln Powell
They're avoiding the best Middleweight fighters. Same reason why all the Super Middleweights (Except for Caleb) are taller and bigger than the Light Heavyweights, they don't want smoke from the likes of Bivol or Kovalev because all of them (except Caleb) are bums.
Landon Adams
Canelo is literally their entire business. more top heavy than Matchroom.
Ian Kelly
Okay, where is the WBSS Finals dates, though?
John Johnson
They still have Rey Vargas who is legit and Cancio/Joseph Diaz who arent great but are still very marketable fighters
Jackson Torres
Redpill: All these super and light divisions are full of bums (excluding LHW) hoping to nick an alphabet title cuz they're too scared to test themselves in real divisions
Its the lost property box for all the sandals left in mosques over the years.
Noah Wood
Counterpill. Benavidez vs Smith is a barn burner
Carter Gutierrez
Counter-counterpill. Benavidez and Smith would both get beat by Bivol.
Brayden Jackson
i don't think anyone does racism with less style than you brits. is that literally the best you can do? muslims must laugh their asses off when you try to banter with them
Luis Evans
Not so sure though, Bivol has one of the best 1-2 and distance control but he has zero inside game. If Benavidez is close the distance Bivol is in great trouble
Evan Gonzalez
9/10 redheads have thicc asses. Anyone else noticed?
Why?
Hudson Gray
Counter-counter-counterpill. Bivol gets schooled by are Caleb
Had to delete the post, posted the wrong pic and not trying to get banned over a bare ass lol
Only casuals think he was a hard punching bully with no techniques
Levi Thompson
Another reason manlet floyd ducked him. That and his blistering handspeed
Thomas Hill
how else did he manage to land his slow punches? if he wasn't a technician he would have never laid his hands on anyone. he was trained originally against his desires to be a heavy puncher and it wasn't until he saw someone get robbed by judges that he understood why he was being trained to be that way.
He had great distance manipulation with his hands and arm movement and blocked a lot of punches, the way the were always in front of him pushing off the opponent he could dodge punches coming through his guard by just backing up
>A movie insider said: "There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says 'Come in 007', and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman. It's a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he's been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman."
Not enough money to have the time to hit the gym consistently enough or to hire personal trainers. I wish that i'll be like Bernard Hopkins and being in world class athletic shape well into my 50s.
they couldnt have gotten a hottie like zoe saldana?
Colton Rivera
just realized this bum is related to the cocaine addict mexiCAN in plant's division
Isaac Butler
Too busy in the MCU?
Brandon Wood
Who should /ourguy/ Dubois fight next? I don't want Warren to rush him too quickly. I think Joyce will try and get a world title shot soon, so Dubois can stay at British level and maybe go for a European title next. Maybe Hughie Fury or Tom Schwartz? The winner of Dave Allen and David Price would make sense too but they are with different promoters
>Joyce will try and get a world title shot soon Seriously though, if you're a promoter where would you take joyce to next? he's got no route to a title shot especially since all the belts are with pbc now, he can't take anyone in the top 10 without a high chance of losing and you can't keep fighting cans hoping he will improve because he's 33.
Cooper Scott
As a new fan is it best to just concentrate on one fight and follow the story and get excited, picking up other stuff along the way for now? Specifically thinking of the Ruiz/Joshua rematch.
Or should I try to absorb as much as possible; a wider breadth with less depth? Then hone in and learn more? For example just reading The Ring cover to cover.
just browse /box/ a couple of months and you'll have a decent understanding
Nicholas Jackson
As much as we'd all love you to enjoy some of the non-marquee divisions, I think you'd be better off staying with the big fights for now. I'd say wait around for the big fights and grow into it organically but there arent that many coming up. Not for a while atleast.
That being said if you just want to watch great fights, go all out. Personally, I recommend Tj doheny vs daniel roman at 122,
Levi Martinez
Not sure desu, maybe get him in with Wilder if he beats Fury in the rematch? Does he have a clear path to becoming a mandatory, maybe he can do that.
Dominic Evans
follow fights, not fighters would be my advice there can be guys who are absolute hot shit that spend their careers fighting once a year against no-name mandatories who get crushed inside 4
Jayden Gutierrez
I recommend following Luis Nery. He's this generals god and possibly the greatest boxer of our generation.
Lucas Jackson
I'm sorry but it looks like you misspelled terence crawford there buddy
Carson White
>follow fights, not fighters would be my advice Its pretty hard for new fan to do this because of how decentralized boxing is. Pick what you like and go deeper is my advice for new box fans
Colton Baker
my casual guide to getting into boxing: go on youtube Start with Ali era. Watch his fights with Liston, Fraizer, Norton. Watch Foreman's fights with the two latter. Then watch Foreman/Ali, then if you're really interested in the era watch Ali/Spinks 1 and 2 and Ali/Holmes. Holmes Cooney is a good stopping place for now. Then watch the "fabulous four" fights with each other (Sugar Ray Leonard, Hearns, Hagler, Duran). Then watch 90s heavyweight era; start with Holmes. Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Michael Moorer. Especially watch fights where the aforementioned box each other. End with Lewis vs. Vitali Money May era now. Watch his fights against Gatti, Castillo, Maidana, Canelo. Now you are free to go back to any era and watch fighters who are talked about here. Look into Jack Dempsey, Sugar Ray Robinson, Floyd Patterson, pretty much any atg that's talked about here. Go on Boxrec and filter their lb for lb list by all time and whatever weight division you are curious about and read about the fighters. You can now post on /box/ and sound like you know what you are talking about.
Jace Edwards
>90s era start with Holmes start with Holmes v Tyson*
Robert Ross
>maybe get him in with Wilder if he beats Fury in the rematch Yeah but if that's the case and say ruiz does beat joshua again, then pbc is going to put on its tournament essentially. He's fucked himself going to frank warren.
Jacob Martin
Why do people think the pbc even wants an undisputed champion? Or even a 3 belt champion? What is the biggest unification they've put on that didn't involve floyd?
Justin Lee
Floyd never fought for PBC
Ryder Williams
Garcia/Thurman Jack/Degale Lara/Hurd A few that come to mind
Andrew Bennett
Less than a week untill the Thurman/Pacquiao fight.... Keith is starting to feel discomfort in his hand once again
A fox ppv between wilder and ruiz would be massive, bigger than any wilder joshua, wilder fury, fury joshua fight. Undisputed heavyweights are different than other division because they carry more prestige( part of mike tyson's fame is becoming undisputed so young). There's nowhere left after heavyweight, do you seriously think they would just sit onto having the only 2 champions and not make an in house mega fight?
John Nguyen
you are completely delusional
Carter Murphy
No he's not, you don't understand the American PPV market. Mexican Heavyweight vs America Heavyweight > American Heavyweight vs British Heavyweight (Who despite being a world champion draws pitifully in America).
I thought about going for Canelo/Jacobs because I went to see Avengers that afternoon and saw that they were showing the fight in the theater. But I had already gotten my DAZN subscription
Charles Ramirez
cant believe helenius lost, bros
Sebastian Ortiz
Give me a good bantamweight fight to watch

How satisfied or happy were Brits to see Joshua get bodied by a fat beaner?
Did you feel a vicarious thrill from it because of how heavily hyped he is and because he's a racist African getting put in his place?
Or is there brits here that legit view him as one of your own and you were actually disappointed?
Legit curious about this
Colton Morris
I saw both Wilder fury and Spence garcia at the theater. Unironically the best viewing experience outside of sitting ring side our with a great group of friends at a watch party.
Evan Perez
there's a reason why canelo is the biggest boxing star. mexican and CHI fanbases are the most lucrative fanbases in boxing.
Easton Brown
Whats hard to believe about that?
Also make a pick /box/, would you rather fight Shavers, Marciano, or Wilder
Jaxon Evans
Artem Lobov
Blake Collins
Oh and to add to this if you pick rocky it's scheduled for 15 with 6oz horsehair gloves
James Ward
Shavers because he does tire quick even at his best. Rocky and Wilder both have great gas tanks
Charles Jackson
Shavers because you could just box around him. He's a heavy hitting bum.
Ayden Morgan
Reminder that shavers went 15 with Ali and won the fight though robbed of the decision
Jeremiah Campbell
Ali was shaking with onset parkinsons before he entered the ring, and still outboxed the bum. Shavers could of gone for the knockout when he stunned Ali, but had such a low boxiq that he gave up the whole match.
Andrew Carter
Laying on the ropes eating shots is not "outboxing" someone. Not going for the KO when you have Ali stunned is high IQ see Foreman v Ali, Ali cannot be chinned. And finally trying to box after you've already been beaten retarded is not an excuse for losing. Shavers handled Ali like he was a child
Liam Walker
>see Foreman v Ali That was when Ali still had the hand-speed to deflect a lot of the damage off the ropes. Against Shavers, he was a much different fighter. He lost most of his hand speed and a considerable portion of his stamina to dance, and you can see it in just his change of fighting style. Shavers was afraid of the rope-a-dope and was duped by the 4d chess, nearly knocked out in the final round. If he just fought confidently, he would have won decisively with a knockout. Instead he tried to reserve his stamina and ate flurries which lost him rounds. If you think Shavers was robbed of the decision, you didn't watch the fight. Hurting the other guy isn't what determines the win.
Landon Moore
The level of cope and revisionism present in this post is truly staggering.
Bentley Ortiz
Ah, you so don't know what you are talking about. Great conversation.
Sebastian Thomas
The Brits were on suicide watch. The prince who married the qt black American called him a heartlet. Really, he didn't, but they took a pic together and I like to think he did
Jason Fisher
>dopes still being roped half a century later
Camden Parker
Rey Vargas is one goofy looking motherfucker. Wonder if he gets any sweet Mexican pussy
Brayden Morales
Just follow a specific division with an eye on your home country. That's what I do with Heavyweights with an eye on British boxers across a few weight classes. After a while try and watch lesser weight classes and see who you like.
>Boxrec is good for getting pointers and then YouTube has clips of everyone.
Carter Scott
Oh, and watch the DAZN/Matchroom card next week if you want to follow the Non-Fury Brit side of Boxing.
Connor Scott
Very. 'Ate Hearn 'Ate Negros 'Ate Dossers
Juan Gutierrez
This Saturday is gonna be /kino/ Is Plant colliding with Thurman-Pac?
John Wright
Dubois sleeps wilder
Jonathan Phillips
No, they are on the same card.
Ian King
Yeah that Fox prelims card is supposed to start around 6pm ET and switches to ppv around 8 I think

That soft nigga is complaining about our prison cells. But everybody here agree's he should be released and put the fucking afghans who harrassed him in there.
>But everybody here agree's he should be released and put the fucking afghans who harrassed him in there. Is that why Sweden was so eager to lock him up? Because he upset the middle-eastern immigrants who were starting shit with him? I'm not surprised.
Colton Jenkins
Fuck. Gone at only 55. Didn't expect to wake up to that news.
Isaiah Howard
Wtf?? Reason of his death?
Christopher Long
JCC won the war
Hudson Richardson
well he was a major dope fiend like a lot of that generation
I wonder if nigerians consider him white like americans consider someone 1/4 black to be black

So much for being a defensive wizard.
Jackson Sullivan
Why do you say this, if you read this thread and werent a shit stirrer you would know most brits who post here are either indifferent to AJ or don't like him.

Imagine getting knocked out by a shot to hell 30 year old. Muhammad Ali in his prime was unbeatable. Even past his prime he knocked out a fellow top 10 ATG Heavyweight.
The only thing that helps is eating plenty of Snickers.
Adrian Rodriguez
>*Round bell sounds* >Steve Buscemi fight an AJ lookalike and get kd'd >Round over and his cornerman tells him "You're not you when you're hungry, eat a Snickers" >Buscemu turns into Ruiz and knocks AJ out
>Wright told KO Digest in 2012: "The fight overseas with Simon, they called that a draw and then thirty minutes later they changed the decision so that was definitely not a loss. I fought him in South Africa, his home country and at first they said it was a draw. I left and went to my dressing room - took a shower, got dressed, and got ready to leave. They said come back to the ring because they changed the decision (from a draw to a loss). I said, you all must be crazy if you think I'm going back into that ring."

Andrew Gonzalez
Are you talking about the Lebron James of boxing?
Juan Garcia
Only true boxing fans will talk about Prince Charles. >"I just want to keep learning and become a complete fighter. I want to be able to dig to the body and fight on the inside and learn everything technical that I can. I want to be like the LeBron James of boxing, in that I'm a total student of the sport."
Eli Ward
ABSOLUTELY STUPENDOUS
Sebastian Bell
holy based
Ian Parker
Rope a dope only works if you have good hand-speed and head movement to avoid most of the damage, and let the ropes dissipate a lot of the body shots. And if the opponent literally has not heard of rope-a-dope before. There's a reason Ali never had a rematch with Foreman. So really it was only effective in that one fight. You can't blame Foreman either. Up until that point he had demolished every other contender. It must have been a trip to hit this guy with everything you have for rounds and rounds on end and yet the guy isn't even pockmarked..
Hunter Hall
a lot of bummy heavyweights fought at the weekend, Fox was hyping Gerald Washington after knocking out Helenius
Lucas White
When were some times a fighter completely lost his punch resistance after a fight?

this reminds me that Joyce leaving PBC was a pretty stupid move, he could have got a title shot at Wilder or Ruiz pretty soon
Gabriel Howard
checked, for me it's pricey
Gabriel Price
>Wilder v Ortiz moved from September to November
Eli Cruz
im such a cuck but i still believe in pricey. he has the size and the technique just needs to fucking sort his dogshit cardio out and not be walking dead by round 4
About fucking time. Idk what they've been waiting for. Beterbiev ices him in 7
Nicholas Edwards
my heart would be in shambles if dave allen loses to price, shame that he fancies povetkin next, could go for someone shittier I don't think he's that shot
Andrew James
Allen is literally 2 wins away from a fight with AJ. Once he batters Price and kos some Chisora-type hes the rebound for Johnson after another loss to Ruiz
Ryan Rogers
Does Luke Campbell have a chance against Lomachenko? I think I might bet on Loma.
I think he's capable of putting in a performance like Pedraza's, which is considered a moral defeat for Lomachenko
Benjamin Sanchez
AJ will probably retire if Ruiz stops him again. He's already admitted he doesn't want tough fights and that he didn't want to fight in his mid 30's. Tune up then cashout fight against whyte.
Jordan Long
He got the fight against Loma, I guess it's not by pure luck.

How come D'amato's fighters were so /weakmind/? Floyd Patterson and Tyson were both mentally soft
I thought Tyson hated the n word? I've seen him use it twice in the last few weeks now. First when teaching that heavyweight some tricks and now this
Jeremiah Bell
Lol that midget bum is getting the Adonis treatment. There's a reason shittybiev has only fought top cans and avoided EVERYONE in the division

>“... In the dressing room I had a headache. Liston didn’t hurt me physically—a few days later I only felt a twitching nerve in my teeth—it was nothing like some fights I’ve had: like that Dick Wagner fight in ’53 when he beat my body so bad I was urinating blood for days. After the Liston fight, I just went into the bathroom, shut the door behind me, and looked at myself in the mirror. I just looked at myself, and asked, ‘What happened?’, and then they started pounding on the door, and saying, ‘Com’on out, Floyd, com’on out; the press is here, Cus is here, com’on out, Floyd….’
>“... And so I went out, and they asked questions, but what can you say? What you’re thinking about is all those months of training, all the conditioning, all the depriving; and you think, ‘I didn’t have to run that extra mile, didn’t have to spar that day, I could have stayed up that night in camp and watched The Late Show…. I could have fought this fight tonight in no condition….’”
>D’Amato, who took over training Patterson when the fighter was seventeen or eighteen years old and exerted a tremendous influence over his psyche, is a strange but fascinating man of fifty-six who is addicted to Spartanism and self-denial and is possessed by suspicion and fear: he avoids subways because he fears someone might push him onto the tracks; never has married; never reveals his home address.
>“I must keep my enemies confused,” D’Amato once explained. “When they are confused, then I can do a job for my fighters. What I do not want in life, however, is a sense of security; the moment a person knows security, his senses are dulled—and he begins to die. I also do not want many pleasures in life; I believe the more pleasures you get out of living, the more fear you have of dying.”
you really looked up his daughter to find a picture of him
Jeremiah Gomez
It's not "our" sport, /knuck/ is trying to capture our dropouts just like MMA was doing a decade ago to boost their popularity.
William Flores
That Mayweather channel video and sweat pea dying is the most random shit man what the fuck Does this mean one of the fighters has to die every time they make a prediction video? They must have made that video before they knew he died right?
Proud to say I watched his first pro fight on a Facebook live stream, immediately bought stock in him as soon as I saw him
Wyatt Ramirez
Did sparring at the Kronk gym contribute to his coma?
Michael Richardson
Yeah i heard about him from that one american champion amateur who signed to matchroom, Nkosi Solomon, and then immediately lost his pro debut. Apparently Solomon was a pretty good amateur but 2-3 fights before he went pro, he fought Conto and Conto ruined him in the ring.
Zachary Garcia
Also keep your eyes on Nikita "White Chocolate" Ababiy, who returns to the ring on July 27
The current generation and generation before that in British heavyweights have had it shit, the current generation because David Haye ruined box office for everyone with the toe incident, and David Haye’s generation themselves because they were all shit, minus David Haye really.
Tyson Fury built his own hype, he was boxing absolute shithouses and struggling at times on shit tv channels.
Yeah ok Anthony Joshua has had hype but he literally won a gold medal in the Olympics in his home country, it was bound to happen.
But for you to say British HWs have been over hyped is utterly wrong. They’ve all built it for what it is today.
Gavin Edwards
Imagine if he was the lead in Southpaw instead of Jake Gyllenhaal
Jordan Watson
I wouldn’t use that one area of the arena as a litmus test for attendees
It appears that was prob an area for sponsors and shit who couldn’t care about the fight, seeing as it’s a dead central middle area
Even football has a problem with sponsors being a cunt and taking the best seats and not turning up
Oliver Long
fuck off nonce
Nathan Harris
Reminder not to respond to the tripfag pedophile above
Nicholas Miller
I've had him filtered for a year, this is the first i've thought about him in months cuz of you bypassing the filter for him
Man I love how Lobov and Kahn have a bunch of losses on their records and are still more popular and relevant than 99% of these undefeated can crushers.
Tyler Williams
Send us your best faggot, I wanna see the fat fuck Cormier put in a coma
Is Al Haymon going to rig the result this Saturday? Have Thurman box like shit to give Pacquiao an easy UD victory and title in order to call out Mayweather for a 2nd fight. Whatever happens, I expect some Haymon fuckery.
>fought Franklin Manzanilla for a boring w >his team felt he needs a real challenge instead of crushing cans for a padded record >sees a japanese boxer >eazy w and free belt lmao >press conference issues >japanese boxer starts talking fluent spanish >oh shit >speaks about mexican style and his love of mexico >oh shit oh shit >calls out rey's heritage and wanting to stand and slug it out >kameda continues saying something about who has bigger balls >fight night happen >felt the power of kameda >fuck that >dodge and weave and counter towards victory >majority of the crowd starts booing for his tactics >blames the booing towards the japanese fans
Sad sight when the mexicans in the crowd like the japanese mexican immigrant more than you, a natural born mexican. What was hilarious was that he called out Roman to unify and said when 2 mexicans get in the ring, you always get a war. We JUST had a fight with 2 mexicans which he shit up lmao
Jace Ortiz
Still no word on Canelo's next opponent and September 16th weekend is 2 months away
If he does fight its almost certain to be a can now. No time for the multi city press conferences or time to shoot major ads
Damn she's cute. How do I get me a qt liberal Latina?
Joshua Reyes
Don't worry, they're just pulling a Mayweather. >train for an opponent you are likely to get and know you are going to pick >wait until the last minute to make the deal so you are in top shape for the fight >your opponent can't possibly be because you purposefully made it so they can't get a full training camp >the money is too good for the opponent to refuse so they take the fight even though they don't like the situation >fight a guy who's compromised but get full credit for beating them as if you never intentionally played them >no one ever comments on this >pull this over and over again along with other bullshit conditions that weaken your opponent for every fight >get called one of the best fighters ever
Ethan Watson
the guy is a very boring boxer, but pretty good. kameda was very entertaining to watch, but couldn't adapt to his clinching sooner and lost badly because of it.
I don't have idols, but Mayweather is Canelo's idol. Which is why he acts more like Mayweather than he does a Mexican fighters of the past including De La Hoya. Besides those are all facts, picking people's gloves, creating a catchweight for any fight he wants, picking opponents weeks after he's started training camp, etc. He does it every fight, he makes sure his opponent is never at 100%, he uses the A-side advantage to try to win before he ever steps into the ring, he drops belts when he doesn't want to fight an opponent, etc. Canelo is doing the same shit.
are there any heavyweights who still use horsehair?
Adam Russell
Yes, why not wear their gloves instead, or you wear yours and they wear theirs which are perfectly legal? Because of his hands supposedly being hurt? So what, that's opponents fault and he should not be penalized for his physical shortcomings. Can you imagine a fighter saying that because he has a problem with his knees his opponent has to wear the shoes he picks out as to slow or trouble their foot movement, bullshit right? Same thing.
Second one also a yes, how could you possibly think not reaching your physical peak, they have a routine and pattern they have built how much and when they need to train to reach that peak, or having to drain a lot of weight too quickly is not going to compromise your performance? These are obvious, why do think he's asking for these things in the first place? Why go through the trouble and putting it into contract if it meant nothing? You are delusional, everybody understands why he does these things, including Mayweather, but not you for some silly reason.
Gabriel Flores
yes, they use everlast MX. cleto's are fairly snug and often too small for people with large hands (heavyweights) unless you have smaller hands.
Go watch that fight it's pretty good. Even with all those jabs he couldn't get his head out of the way of big shots.
Tyler Wood
As if he actually does anything as a congressman. Way I hear it everyone with a brain votes against but because he literally hands out money in the streets all the poor folk vote for him.
Jaxson Cook
That's how it should be. Fuck the rich, lift those who are at the bottom up first.
Connor Powell
Yeah I like that fight. Gatti could be a technically sound boxer when he wanted to (except maybe of defence) or had the proper mindset, it's just that he's still the last person I would have thought would be on the list. Fun fact that he used to be Sweat Pea's sparring partner
Jose Sanders
So Manny's gonna end up becoming president of the Philippines, right?
I kinda see it like Bhop vs Kovalev a couple years ago. A ton of people picked Bhop and gave him a chance, partially because they underrated Kova but mostly because they all wanted the old legend to have one more great win at his age. I mean I literally rooted for broner last time but it's hard not to root for pacman now. This would be such a huge victory for him, possibly his greatest at welterweight.
When Pac does lose, all this hope will have been forgotten.
Honestly see him winning a comfortable decision. Thurman is extremely overrated
Ethan Watson
>manny beats thurman >floyd comes out of retirement, fights broner in a tune up and obviously embarrasses him while making dumb money >floyd vs manny 2 >floyd clowns manny again and makes $300M
>in negotiations Floyd's side gets a 1 mile square ring so he can run from Pac all night
Jayden Nguyen
It's a weird fight, Thurman looked washed in his last fight
Daniel Jenkins
If pac can actually beat thurman, he can definitely beat floyd at this point. Floyd hasn't fought a real opponent in 4 years. No stays sharp forever
Asher Kelly
NEW
Michael Rodriguez
And isn't a 40 years old Pac, 10 years past his prime, overrated by beating two living corpses like Matthysse and Broner?
James Robinson
Sorely underrated
Daniel James
Broner was robbed my guy
Austin Richardson
This dumbo prolly never watched thurman fight before his hiatus.
Justin Richardson
You mean back in 2015? Since then he's fought three close fights, last one is against fucking Josesito López
Isaac Jenkins
Don't act like the Lopez fight was even close and the Garcia fight wasn't close either. Thurman controlled that entire fight and only let it slip because he thought he had it in the bag. He gave garcia no openings for a counter.
Those fights against garcia and porter are good. I guarantee not even spence can stop them. They're much better wins than anything Spence or Crawford has at 147.
Easton Rogers
Spence broke down and stopped Brook, a better win than two sloppy as fuck fights against Garcia and Porter
Ethan Gomez
Yeah and Brook literally has nothing but a porter at his worst, win on his record and Spence fought him after golovkin broke his fucking face. Kell Brook is just not the same caliber as porter and Garcia, look at his record. He fought only shitters after he won his title from porter. Porter and DSG have fought actual top 20 welterweights.
Sebastian Adams
>wtf why's he giving to the poor??!!
Elijah Bennett
broke ass niggas
Nicholas Long
Let me see your Pacquiao-Thurman PPV receipt big boi
Kayden Brooks
Sugar Ray Leonard picked Keith.
Dylan Phillips
newfag here. What does /box/ think of Manny Pacquiao?
