2/3 of American men are overweight or obese who would get raped by Serena. So only 4% actually have a chance of lasting more than one minute against her.
Considering bottom tier womens pros can take a point off her I'd have to believe that there are plenty of fit men or tennis hobbyists who could
a woman who thinks she can beat Serena is delusional
a man who thinks he can beat Serena is ambitious
What is a double fault
A semi-pro man could beat her. Though the avarage hobbyist probably could not.
I bet an U15 boy from Dallas could beat her 6-2 6-2
>roastie sports
It says playing my very best, so yes in my peak of athletics I was a college athelete, so I think I could have probably beaten her.
it's much a bigger delusion that 3% of women think they can
>win a point
doable. beating her is a bit different
Average club player would get thrashed
Semi-pro could potentially win but it would be close
Any professional men’s player would win easily
It not likely but you could easily end up fluking a single point. If they said win the game they'd be delusional but not for just a single point
Let's not be smartasses and assume they don't allow unforced errors to count. I don't think I could right now, but I'm pretty athletic. If you give me a coach and three months to practice I absolutely could.
>Another event dubbed a "Battle of the Sexes" took place during the 1998 Australian Open between Karsten Braasch and the Williams sisters. Venus and Serena Williams had claimed that they could beat any male player ranked outside the world's top 200, so Braasch, then ranked 203rd, challenged them both. Braasch was described by one journalist as "a man whose training regime centered around a pack of cigarettes and more than a couple of bottles of ice cold lager". The matches took place on court number 12 in Melbourne Park, after Braasch had finished a round of golf and two shandies. He first took on Serena and after leading 5–0, beat her 6–1. Venus then walked on court and again Braasch was victorious, this time winning 6–2. Braasch said afterwards, "500 and above, no chance". He added that he had played like someone ranked 600th in order to keep the game "fun" and that the big difference was that men can chase down shots much easier and put spin on the ball that female players can't handle. The Williams sisters adjusted their claim to beating men outside the top 350.
On this evidence, 12% of the male population being able to win a singular point doesn't seem too hard desu
203rd in the world is like the top 0.0000058% of men
literally no different than monday morning armchair quarterbacks talking about how their playcalling would have been better despite not playing any sport since high school.
Underrated
Only a point?
Though in practice I can't be arsed trying against girls in any sport
Yes, because 99% of men don't play Tennis on the regular. But if one starts taking the sport seriously and in a good shape, he wouldn't have problems scoring some points in Serena.
At least 95% of those men are delusional
Honestly, this isn't even a men vs women thing. if you didn't play tennis at a collegiate level or equivalent, I don't care how athletic you are, you'd be lucky to return a serve from a professional tennis player
Yes, they are delusional. Less than 1% could even return a serve.
I don't think you realise how good you would have to be to be top 200 of every tennis player in the world. Even if you take the incredibly conservative number of 1 million regular tennis players that's still the top 0.2%
Kek
Genuinely believe I could beat her with a strong serve.
Serena was 16 years old at that time. Clearly not near her prime yet.
>obese
>based on BMI
nice
but the statistic talks about getting one point, not beating her
You realise a youth team isn't U15s, right?
I've never lost to a woman in anything given 1 week of preperation, in fact I lost my virginity in a bet where she thought she could run faster than me
if your serve is that good you should be trying to play pro tennis, my dude
>call her a nigger and make monkey noises under my breath
>she flips out
>code violation
>men beat men
your point soyboy?
Don't find it very fun tbqh. Prefer hurling or football.
I know but the fact she lost to the 203rd ranked man doesn't really have any bearing on that. I doubt 12% of men could win a point against the top 1000
the question was to score a single point
anyone who knows their way around a tennis field could probably get a single point on most pros, male or female. the other half of respondents who have never step foot on the tarmac are your typical armchair quarterback type
Cry more
pearl clutch more snowflake
You're comparing losing to 14 years olds to losing to 20 years olds, you dolt.
Roughly the same amount of random people could win a point against Serena as could against Federer. Because it would have to happen on a double fault or un-forced error.
Yeah, a good couple of years too late.
>20 years olds,
Younger than that. But anyway, cry more.
This implies that Federer and Serena make the same amount of mistakes. They do not. Serena makes way more.
"Youth Team" goes right up to 21, mate. You literally don't understand the sport, pipe down.
It's funny seeing these white knights on twitter completly dismiss this but if you have actually played tennis then a small minority of men who have past tennis experience getting 1 point isn't a crazy scenario.
I'm curious what the actual rates are. Where can I find stats like that?
I think people who don't know shit about tennis underestimate how hard it is to get a point.
It was the U-18 team, per the article. But that's semantics anyway. The point is that shit happens in training/exhibition games. Players aren't trying as hard, having fun, etc. It's ridiculous to be so obsessed with a result like that. It just shows how desperate you incels are to invalidate female athletes. Pretty pathetic, t.bh.
Let’s start with the most recent results. In men’s matches at the 2013 US Open, 33.2% of points ended in an unforced error. Play may have tightened up just a bit in the final week: In the round of 16 and later, 32.9% of points ended in UFEs.
Women’s matches did, in fact, feature a higher rate of unforced errors. Considering the entire tournament, 39.7% of points ended that way, while in the fourth round and later, the rate dropped to 36.7%.

>14, 18? all the same to me mate
Yeah, you would say that, you nonce.
Are the numbers available for individual players though?
Didn't he dropped like to 300 a few days after that?
Based Muhammad
>women’s sport
It’s all gonna be trannies soon anyway
They said they would challenge anyone outside the top 400 and he told them to give him a few weeks and he'd be there because that's where he was predicted to end up after a few weeks. They then withdrew their open challenge.
I don't think you know what a tennis game is, ameridumb.
Game of the tournament
Sometimes people who have never played tennis before misjudge the sport. No, if you have never hold a racquet in your entire life no way you could even hit the ball. That said, a decent club player (not close to male pro level) could for sure win at least a single point against Serena. WTA is general is a joke, you can watch any Future mach and I assure you the level of tennis being played is way higher than WTA
>a game
Like first to 40? I don't think I'd like my chances. Now if it was a whole match, or even one set, I'd say sure. Could very possibly score a couple points just from luckshitting alone.
This reminds me of all the faggots here who went on and on about how Rousey could defeat any man who isn't a pro fighter and close to 50% of pro fighters in a lower weight class
You people must really be a bunch of sissy twinks or fat nerds
Who says she’s serving?
It's a little different because tennis is technical, so Serena's wealth of experience would factor in more heavily. With Rousey you could just use your naturally massive height + reach advantage to pummel her.
Serena still has a ridiculously fast and accurate serve, that alone would be insurmountable for most men.
Well, it would be 14 or 17, not 18. But still, read the rest of my post.
Give up already. You've embarrassed yourself enough for one day, fatty.
I'd imagine have sexes and actual tennis players are more likely to answer this kind of survey question, so the results are probably skewered.
Win a point? No. Get a point off an unforced error? Possibly. Shit I don't think I could even return one of her serves and if I did she'd probably smash it right past me.
>Running after a roastie and catching and raping her is considered a "bet" in Germany now
Let me guess you live in Köln?
This. Anyone who says otherwise is just fucking around on an anonymous Bhutanese finger painting image board.
what's wrong about bmi ?
It doesn't factor muscle in. A huge muscular man is considered obese too.
How many Americans are huge muscular men?
5 or 6 I think
I mean the Dallas U-18 Boy's team could beat the National US Women's soccer team, so this doesn't surprise me. Women just aren't that good at most sports compared to men.
then you can add your bodyfat% i suppose
but in most cases high bmi means obesity
i played Tennis against my Grandfather 3 times and im confident i would win more than a point
this
I've casually played most of my life. I doubt I could ever hope to take a set off of her, but if the object is just to take a point off of her in any way possible just play the net and hit junkballs with a ton of spin. You're bound to get a point that way
Dude bottom tier atp players can win a set against Nadal Djokovic or Federer and still get ass raped in the end, that shit happens all the time
it's not impossible to take a single point to a professional player come on
even federer can fuck up a ball
74% of them are delusional
>rule of thumb works for most of the general population except for a few small groups of people on the extremes
>everyday lardasses think they're in one of the outlier groups that BMI doesn't apply to
The problem is when bmi is used to dictate policy, some jobs do it and consider everyone obese when they are just gym rats, this affect insurance policies so it's either on purpose or not depending on what they try to accomplish
12% of men is fucking high
I'd say maybe 2-3% could win a point off her
For women lol like 0.0005% could win a point off her
I'm only explaining what the yank was referring to with his complaint about BMI, settle down bois.
Getting a single point? That sounds possible.
Have 12% of men ever even held a tennis racket?
She routinely got destroyed by her old hitting partner Sasha, and he wasn't even good enough to turn pro. He was probably a high school level talent and she couldn't touch him. Lots of amateurs could win a point off her.
If Drake can beat Serena when she's playing with her left then I think I could manage a single point
If you're talking a full game, then basically anyone who could return her serve is going to get a point, purely based on luck. It's a long game, a lot of returns. She'll hit one into the net or out of bounds at some point.
In terms of probability, you can model this as a 48 point game (assuming 2 sets) where Williams has to win all 48 points and an average man has to win 1, and then calculate what probability of winning a single point then man needs to have in order to have a 12% chance of winning 1 in 48.
Answer: about 0.0026. So if you'd expect Williams to lose at least 1 in every 375 points against an average man then the 12% figure is about right. Sounds fairly reasonable to me. Variance and luck play a larger part in sport than people imagine, eventually someone is going to fluke one that hits the top of the net and drops over in an impossible to return position.
Even if a pro was playing against no-one at all they'd still eventually lose an entire match just because the base rate of injuring yourself while serving is greater than zero.
a game is not the same as a match in tennis, it's a part of a set
they should actually specify if it's her service game
Using that logic, the poll results should be 0% because no individual should answer yes if they only have a 12% chance. The 12% that answered yes likely wouldn't be the 12% that actually win a point.
Any male college tennis player that still plays for fun after college could beat the shit out of EVERY single female tennis player that ever lived. Every last one of them.
90% of men have never picked up a tennis racket.
The 3% of women are also delusional though so why are they focusing on the men? Are they turning this into the lastest fake-sexism thing they can complain about because feminists don't have any real issues?
Wait I knew about the soccer but did this happen in tennis too?
They are delusional. Serena is probably about as good as the 1,000th best make tennis player. Yeah you can talk about how 1000 men are better than her but you're delusional if you think 12% of men or 3% of women could get a single point against her in a sport most people have never played
