That was literally what happened to all of Canada, the entire fucking nation when Raptors crazy. For the first time we had a basketball team that was straight up kicking ass and everybody loved it, basketball came back to the place it was invented.
For the first time in the history of the league, a Finals MVP signed a contract with a completely different team immediately after winning a championship. Kawhi had the power to swing the balance of the NBA any way he wanted. And rather than stick with the team that helped nurse him back to health, let him do whatever he wanted and bring Uncle Dennis and Aunt May and everybody on the goddamn plane with him, the whole city was basically offering him whatever the hell he wanted. And in the end, he wanted nothing to do with us. His last words to the people of Toronto were, "Enjoy this moment, and have fun with it! Ahahahahahahaha!" He was literally laughing at us while basically implying, this shit was temporary. I mean, fuck man. In 2 years he's a 10 year vet and can negotiate whatever the fuck kind of contracts he wants. You're seriously telling me you couldn't run it back 1, 2 seasons? After all the teambuilding and hype, after giving him the key to the city, letting him meet our Prime Minister and everything, all he wanted to do was fucking dip? To the state where they have like 5 fucking NBA teams and people are angry at him for not joining the Lakers.
