I would love to see a 5 race run in that truck with:
1. Harmonator - with his girth, even the 51 might not be able to pull a top 5
2. J.Jo Cobb - I detest most chicks in motorsport, but I do make exceptions for those chicks that are actually in it for the racing, and this chick is defintely in it for the racing. She'd probably still get a p15 or some shit.
3. SvG - with his drifting experience, I can see him do better than most road racers would on an oval in a truck setup.
4. Lewis Hamilton - the trucks would kick his ass with having to deal with tire wear, temp, and pressure issues, and the aero in the draft would be something I don't think he's ever experienced. It would do the world good to see one of "their" boys struggle in what they consider an "easier" style of racing.

Roger Penske can pretty much get whatever car he wants for whatever series he wants. he doesn't care about "brand loyalty" or any of that shit, he just wants to win at any cost. and he and his team have enough pull in motorsports to where they can run different brands in different series and not worry about pissing off the manufacturers.
hell, if he wanted to run more series, like DTM with BMW or Super GT with Toyota or some shit he probably could.
manufacturers (and sponsors) know with Team Penske, they are gonna win, and thus get their money's worth. they're a seriously elite multi-series team.

people around here usually buy the bike first, then use it to take a class to learn how to ride it, then take the test for the license. is it different in the Netherlands? (admittedly I'm not too familiar with motorcycles)

huh. here the normal thing is to take the lessons and take the test on the motorcycle you bought beforehand. not sure how much it costs but I know they don't let you borrow a bike for it.
idk, maybe it's different in different areas of the US too. but all the guys I know that ride bikes bought the bike before they took the class and test. no bike rentals here.

The regs are done, i think Super GT still has to adopt the regs but the difference between the regs is small. 3 Super GT cars will race in the final DTM weekend and they will do a race in November in Fuji.

Could be an exciting race today. Though last year they had a comp caution.
Was excellent, what makes a short oval great is lapped traffic and effectively Mexican stand-offs between 2 or so drivers who are waiting for the leader to make a single mistake.
This race had a bunch, Josef just didn't make many mistakes. Power made a mistake in traffic that let Josef by etc.
It was a great short track race that stood in sharp contrast to Gateway and other tracks where there's almost no separation in speeds that would create traffic.
I think the race might be decent today. Bowman will wreck out, so will Newman. Will be neat to see who else has no handle for the track today
