good thing it's not happening
can't imagine that
they are so bad
Lol dumb frog
imagine if London got an NFL team and called them the Redcoats, we could watch the Patriots vs the Redcoats every year.
could be a complete mockey of the nfl
mockery? hardly, the Cowboys vs the Redskins gets played every single year at thanksgiving lmao
why are you talking about the english team like that my scottish friend
desperately having to form a team in a different continent to become relevant on the world stage
I would rather see a USA vs Mexico world cup final. I don't dislike England. Imagine if one day the youth systems of America produced a god-tier starting 11 and Mexico finally rose to its potential, and both sides beat a European and South American side each to get to the finals...that would be awesome. The shitposting from that would be insane. I still think the USA will make the world cup final in the next 50 years, but lose, but it will make people care about it more. Especially with football/basketball dominating these days soccer could grow to be #3 in USA.
Why would they call themselves Redcoats? More likely they would be Cavaliers
of course they wouldn't call themselves the redcoats, but a man can dream.
I wouldn't say desperate, London has expressed interest in having their own team, the NFL commissioner has talked about it, though it certainly isn't a high priority. we would already have an NFL team in Toronto if the CFL weren't such fags.
US Soccer is fucked for the next cycle due to mlels nepotism creeping in at all administrative levels of the federation (President, US Soccer officials, board of directors, manager) so we will not even be competitive enough to get that far.
England will never get that far either. Sure they have a "golden generation" right now but last year they only got to semis due to a joke easy route (Colombia without James, Sweden, shit piss easy group where Belgium and England were guaranteed through). France is still one of the best teams, Belgium is far better, Netherlands have now caught up and are better, Portugal are better and former champions Germany, Spain and Italy are still going to pose a threat.
Neither of these sides will make a world cup final. Maybe 2026 when we host it will prove to be different.
>Tfw no cross city rivalry between the London cavaliers and the London round heads
england have a pretty good team imo
you're fucked though
>they have a "golden generation" right now
no we don't
0% USA will get anywhere.
We might get a final if we a lucky draw again, we do have a pretty good team but I think Southgate is weak.
>they have a "golden generation" right now
no we don't
>they have a "golden generation" right now
They couldn't even score from open play.
>Mexico finally rose to its potential
So nothing
maybe you should focus on qualifying for a world cup first
>tfw will have to root for england
There is an alternative universe where this happened in 2002
>A joint UK team
So England + Aaron Ramsey?
>The US will reach the 2022 final because they beat England in 1950
+Robertson
The final will have France, Germany, Spain, or Brazil. Like always.
It's all so tiresome.
I was just pointing out you usually have trouble against them even if they suck ass at footy.
Literally all that had to happen for this to happen was Beckham not to be a twat and jump out of a tackle and a handball correctly given against Germany, both in the semis against weak opposition. Bingo, England - USA final.
Spain have made the final once
the first and only good American team
>2014 world cup peak at Sterling's goal not happening
>2010 world cup peak at that Gerard goal
At least 2018 kept us interested for longer
This, England has a good team but our team is a bunch of players who look like they’re still learning the basics
Imagine how different World Cup history would be had VAR been in use since cameras were decent, say the 82 or 86 tournament. 1986 in particular would have been different...
>1986 in particular would have been different...
Tell me about it...
>Netherlands have now caught up and are better
Recency boas or just typical American retardation?
*bias
XD
>Sure they have a "golden generation" right now
Please be fucking bait, holy shit.
fuck schumacher
>2022
>Michael Bradley starting mid-field
>MLS players playing against international sides
It was all a dream.
Ignore him. Euros are next summer, we'll find out what's what soon enough. No point judging teams in the year between the WC and Euro.
You're right, user. For some reason, I've always thought Spain were perennial winners.
Until very recently, Spain were the perennial chokers. Like, ultimate chokers. Usually had talent, never did anything. There's a long list of really, really good Spanish players who never accomplished anything at the WC.
waiting for the us to do well in the world cup is like waiting for a european basketball team to beat a USA basketball team in a 7 game series
>not being alive in 2002
sucks for you.
usa will probably be less pathetic than england in 22 desu
>2006 - Italy not award penalty in L16
>1990 - Germany not awarded penalty in final
>1986 - Maradonna fucked harder than the Belgrano
>1982 - Schumacher called on his jump
>1966 - No hurst hatrick
>1954 - Hungarians not cheated out of the win
Any others to add?
Argentina basically would have 0 world cups
It's ya boy 2010 checkin' in.
Very recently? Didn't Spain lose to Russia in the last WC?
South Korea don't get refballed into the semifinal in 2002, setting Spain or more likely Italy up against Germany to take on Brazil
There are countless examples I'm sure. We're only thinking of the last few matches of a given tournament too, some teams would not have survived group play. And to add one
>2002 - USA awarded PK for handball vs Germany in quarters
You thinks that is bad?
Try finish first in the qualifiers, breaking all records of points and performance to this day, finishing over Brazil who where going to be Champs later.
JUST TO CHOKE TO FUCKING SWEDEN...
I was only thinking of how it would have affected the winners but yeah, plenty of shit would have been overturned
2008-12 Spanish national team was probably the most dominant side in European history. It's crazy how good they were. That's what I was referring to.
Germany sure do seem to have a lot luck with dodgy decisons, eh?
Makes you think...
lolno, >we won't even fucking qualify
Never recover? That would be an easy decision for me, England all the way (btw wrong flag low iq frog)
41 years later, not a single piece of evidence about "muh 78 bribes".
In fact, Italy beat us, Netherlands almost scored at 90th minute.
>muh Peru
pic related, Peru also didn't beat anybody but fucking IRAN and SCOTLAND at that WC.
Based Portubro
aren't they letting more teams qualify now? I don't think the US will ever win the WC for at least the next 50 years but USAUSAUSA posting when they beat farmers never gets old so I hope they're at least in it.
lmao based
I think that's 2026.
The UK doesnt play in the world cup dumbass
we won't qualify, sorry to say this
You have to go back
something like pakistan vs india would be kino.
England's a possible candidate but there are 20+ teams that would shit on the US 90% of the time
Imagine if I win the lottery today
Someone has to.
A monkey opinion doesn’t matter here. Go peel bananas!
>USA ever reaching finals
USA has mediocre players unless we go full Black slaves France it won't happen.
