Why doesn't Mexico apply to play at CONMEBOL just like Australia did with the Asian Confederation?
Mexico is roflstumping CONCACAF even with their bench players, CONMEBOL would surely not give them a pass to the world cup every four years, but their level could improve a lot if they play better teams.
Mexicans would rather be the pride of a gang of cripples than the punching bag in a league of soccer juggernauts.
James Carter
I'm sure their clubs wouldn't steamroll in Libertadores or Sul-americana >inb4 muh some Mexican club went to the finals >inb4 hurr some Mexican club won the Sul-americana durr
Jonathan Campbell
Their level would improve a lot.
Michael Hill
Being virtually assured of wc qualification means Mexico would never want to leave CONCACAF. Australia would've stayed in OFC if there was even one guaranteed wc slot, New Zealand will never leave OFC from 2026 with the 48 team expansion coming with a OFC slot.
Isaac Powell
Small mentality desu
Jose Ortiz
Mexicans are shit at football. They rather win from the USA every year than getting curbstomped by any south American country
Evan Powell
of course, but our clubs would raise the level as well so they wouldn't dominate like they do in CONCACAF and they wouldn't have easy titles as well in international competitions
Austin Parker
>Qualifying every year but lose in the GS every year or >Qualify every once in a while but do a decent campaign and at least qualify for the Round of 32 pick one
Brayden Gray
Because Mexico sucks. They needed massive refball to beat starving Hatians and the US's C Team. You can just picture them getting btfo like 4-0 in La Paz
Jaxson Evans
CONMEBOL is getting 6 slots and 7th into the world group playoffs, from 2026. Mexico would be about that level (ie. 6th or 7th in CONMEBOL).
But still, to answer your question, if I am Mexico I stay in CONCACAF.
Robert Cook
real question would be why dont El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua make a unified 16 club league. 4 from each each
Colton Johnson
There's already a CONCACAF champions cup or whatever it's called. Why do you always want to franchise everything? Let them alone with their local leagues.
Robert Russell
Because we don't get along with Honduras (in football terms), Guatemala is literally the worst football nation in LA ,and Nicaragua doesn't care about football, they only like boreball.
Angel Jones
How else can mexico get routinely bounced in the Ro16 if they can't even make it through qualification?
Evan Brown
COMMIEBOL would rekt us.
Robert Foster
based carnal
Brandon Cooper
ey yo but didnt Mexico lose 7-0 against Chile last time? why should they deserve to come back after beating haiti with refball?
Adam Thomas
>we don't get along with Honduras (in football terms)
There wouldn't be any fan brawls in a Alianza-Motagua game
Carson Young
you're implying soccer federations care about developing the sport in their countries. In reality they care about broadcast monies
Benjamin Cox
National teams also need sponsors (brands advertise with soccer associations, television networks contracting transmission rights, viewers hiring sports channels, fans buying T-shirts). The sponsors finance the budget of the national teams. Depending on the budget, a coach is hired. A bigger budget, better coach. Mexico and the USA have their particular niche in CONCACAF. They are kings in that region, in the same way that Brazil and Argentina are in South America. If Mexico or the USA (even both) decide to play in the events organized by CONMEBOL, they risk to stop being kings and become any team that finishes second best (Uruguay, Chile). Once you lose the identification of TOP (Champion of the Gold Cup-First Classified in the CONCACAF qualifiers) and you become a team of the CONMEBOL, the sponsors stop financing you in the same way. You have less money to hire a coach (and so that the leaders of national football associations can divert less money-corruption). Therefore, for Mexico or USA it is a thousand times better to play a toy cup than to compete against real teams.
Charles Martinez
Why doesn't the USA just deploy a full team of Mexicans? They already have Mexicos best runners right on their back yard. Literally can be a soccer superpower.
Liam Robinson
other than Nicas' supposed indifference towards futbol, i don't see an issue. Can easily become a contender to ligaMX. Have the same group broadcast deal like England, for each division, 9 foreigners allowed per club with 2 having to be from CONCACAF, no limit on starting 11. 4-6 years can be a big contender. have a lot of those immigrants here already, just combine their viewership.
if French Polynesia can BTFO New Zealand in the OFC Cup, then you can’t be 100% sure
Carson Foster
All these plebs underrating the great Mexico, they would qualify 3rd every time and deep down you know it.
Carson Nelson
>american humour
Brody Kelly
7-0 Jose
Jackson Hall
>says ecuador Huehuehuehue
Hudson Martinez
3rd behind whom? Brazil , Argentina , Uruguay and on par with Colombia and Chile? Boi that's some real problem with them maths.
Ethan Turner
Why don't they make Copa Centenario all the time instead? That was awesome, they should have just continued wth that model
Oliver Mitchell
Brother your financing knowledge sucks. a just mid (in terms of power) team in Europe (ex Dinamo Kiev, Slavia Praha has a lot more projection world wide than any team in AFC for example. Competing in a better league will have poeple more interested to you than being the king of the losers.
Gabriel Gomez
They can be whichever ones you want them to be sweetie
Wyatt Edwards
>why don't they make a 100-year celebration trophy all the time Don't get me wrong, I loved Centenario, but Americas are fucking big, so a fusion is not viable, and CONCACAF will always be the side that gets shafted because of how many small federations there are - CONMEBOL's lowest, Bolivia, is 62nd; CONCACAF has only 5 teams above it (Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Jamaica and Honduras) and 30 (THIRTY) lower That said, I think doing one similar tournament before the 2026 WC would be neat, maybe the Gold Cup in 2023/25? Except again, CONCACAF would get shredded lmao
Ethan Martin
Get rid of the 2nd Gold Cup and bring back Copa Interamericana but for nations.
Only negative record is against Argentina and Brazil
Noah Harris
They got invited lot of times to Copa America and they got rekt every time, I guess they'd rather be a big fish in a small pond
Julian Lewis
Most of these are friendlies in neutral ground or the USA (pretty much home soil, all the fans are Mexican), they haven't played against Boliva in La Paz
William Allen
CONCACAF, including Mexico, is fucking pathetic anyway. The World Cup results are horrendous. The United States and Costa Rica have performed just as well, if not better, than Mexico at the World Cup in the last 30 years.
Alexander James
Nah
Blake Ortiz
they need to cut down on the amount of sudaca foreigners allowed in liga MX, specifically and especially sudaca foreigners
Elijah Martin
better to unify the whole thing at once. Also separate MENA as one confederation and unify East/South Asia with Oceania.
Nathan Robinson
>CONMEBOL would surely not give them a pass to the world cup every four years
you literally answered your own question. why make it harder for you to get to the WC. thats what its all about in the end. just being there. obviously only the elite squads ever win it which mexico will never be
Bentley Morris
what 2 central and Carribbean nations could join CONMEBOL?
Jordan Morgan
most conmebol teams will choke at cdmx or Toluca too
>10 participaciones >2 subcampeonatos y 3 semifinales (3er lugar en todas) >Copa America 2011 y 2015 se jugó con equipo sub-23 nada mal para una confederación en donde siempre nos marcan todo en contra
>Adams as a RB >Yedlin not favored as the starter anymore >Brooks not likely to start >Holmes and Horvath not likely start either Your manager doesn't like those players lol your mlels team that was outplayed by us a few days ago was close to your A team.
