I was thinking about this today. How fucking hard is it to just pay some wagie to stand next to the VAR station with a stopwatch and record the time it takes between the ref signaling VAR and resuming play? Then tack that on at the end of the 45 minutes. You'd only be off a few seconds at most.

In soccer, you could keep playing and check replay and nothing of interest would happen in the time it toom to check it 99% of the time if you went with the call on the field.

Aren't refs supposed to be adding on more time than before to better account for actual stoppages? Or is it one those things where they implement it at the beginning of the season and then stop caring halfway through?
