I mean, I don’t think anyone would deny Dirk for the most part had a better supporting cast in Dallas than KG did in Minnesota (aside from that one year they reached the WCF), but KG’s teams still always underperformed expectations while Dirk’s teams nearly always exceeded expectations compared to their respective levels of talent. KG should have at least been able to reliably take his team to the playoffs every year and NOT get straight up swept every time during the early 2000s era where talent was so diluted from expansion.

Dirk led his team to more wins during the 2000s than any single player not named Duncan or Kobe with only decent supporting casts compared to those 2 while KG doesn’t even close to comparing to any of those 3 in winning.

His shooting can fall off a cliff during week stretches and he generally can't create his own shot. He's a role player on steroids. Can't say I would give him a max, but if Philly didn't then youre right - another team would have.

Trading guys like Myles Turner, Montrezl Harrell, etc at their highest value is how you benefit from them.
