I'm not surprised whatsoever. Callum Smtih is going to be protected until he's able to cash out. Why risk having him embarassed by BJS when you can hold out for a Canelo mega payday? And then when he loses that just let him retire having accomplished nothing but manage to get a bunch of Brits to suck him off.
The point is you throw straight punches, maybe some hooks but always with your fist in line. Learn the correct form before you get taped up and throw all the shots, not a terrible idea

Fury-Wilder. Even if they were friendly after their match, it's moreso a mutual respect to eachother. Each believes they're the best and want to prove it (Fury's just biding his time atm though). Theirs has been built up since, what, 2015 with Fury's big callout in the ring?
Why does Floyd Patterson always get overlooked? Why include Holmes but not Patterson? Feel like it's only cause he retired Ali and was beaten by Tyson.

There's a bunch of good youtube channels, some of which summarise the scene right now as it is, some which deal more with historical stuff. A couple I can think of off the top of my head are: Boxing Legends TV, Motivedia and SmB Boxing.

I actually only recently got into reading about boxing stuff. I am really interested in how unique some fighters can get with their stances and techniques. For example, I hear Floyd Mayweather uses the "Philly Shell" pretty extensively. I never knew thats what the stance is called honestly.
Also, I even tried throwing a few punches myself just to try and I always feel grossly off balance. I don't understand the jab particularly. It doesn't seem like a jab is a very effective punch but I guess it would set other things up. What even is a good defensive stance if you had to box someone? Like what if someone walked up to you right now and told you "Put your fucking hands up! I am going to box you now!" What do you do?
Hard fight to call. Both guys are untested as fuck.

>"I really do think the winner would beat Joshua. We see how he struggles with fast hands, small men – that is Gorman – and Dubois has already knocked him out in sparring with big gloves on at 18 years of age," Warren told The Mirror.

I thought Wh*te was getting the interim WBC belt after the Rivas fight and was getting the mandatory, is the mandatory going to be called after Wilder/Fury 2 or is Wh*te just going to give up and fight for a belt Ruiz may be forced to vacate?
I’m a bit confused as there was a big push for Wh*te to get the title shot with Hearn threatening legal action, John Fury demanding the fight and a lot of pushing from Sky. What is going on?
You’re going to sleep
To be fair have you seen the prices? It’s excessive. This is the view of the cheapest tickets available at £92 per ticket. You need fucking binoculars.

The poster is right though, the WBN isn't a proper source. Not only are they stupidly Britcentric, but they have no journalistic standards whatsoever. They were the ones who started the Joshua knocked out in sparring rumours, saying that Agit Kabayel KO'd him despite Kabayel not being in camp, and then they silently edited their article to say Dawejko KO'd him when it was found out that Dawejko was in camp.
>wbn isn't a proper source Oh cause it jumped on the joshua knocked out in sparring story too quickly? Not like every other boxing journalist is infallible, fucking company shills like rafael and coppinger get it wrong. wbn has done some decent journalism before.
Jace Cook

If we can’t get Trevor Bryan, then I don’t know what we’ll do.

Jordan Jenkins
He's suspended dummy
Jason Perez
Because he was really fucking good for his time. He fought prime competition. That list isn't terrible though Lewis, Vitali, and Tyson are too low, Lewis especially, and Holyfield and Schmeling are too high for my personal opinion. Boxrec's scoring system has always been pretty good IMO though.
Top 10 for me would be: - Ali - Louis - Holmes - Patterson - Lewis - Marciano - Holyfield - Tyson - Foreman (1st run) - Frazier or Vlad
Jack Williams
Floyd Patterson > Mike Tyson is peak contrarianism there is no way that it can be justified at all
Andrew Anderson
And his suspension lifts in September when they are looking for the Fury fight. I realize how I worded it made it sound like he's not suspended now but I meant from the September date, he will not be suspended and people are making a big deal about it because promoters, like Fast Eddie, think he should be shamed for a bit before being able to box big names again.
The matchmaking for this is pretty strange. You have a mysterious non-English speaking opponent whose only significant fight came on a shitty Top Rank card that nobody in the UK will have watched, on PPV too. I suppose they think he's most credible opponent Whyte could beat easily.

Michael Johnson
I see this type of reply to /heem/ trolls all the time and it's so fucking retarded. Yes, in a hypothetical 1v1 street fight, whatever that means, where there are no interceding parties, an elite MMA fighter would beat an elite boxer. There is no shame in admitting that and it's peak stupidity to try and argue with these Tapout mongoloids because you're effectively arguing on their terms, i.e. reducing boxing to a means of hurting somebody rather than treating it as the scientific sport that it is. Obviously it is only one means of winning some hypothetical fight, so therefore someone well-acquainted with more methods, and proficient in those methods, will beat the boxer. But acting like this somehow diminishes what boxing is about is peak retardation and just makes people see boxing as an inferior means of kicking someone's ass.
Eli Sanders

Ruiz's defense is good though, much better than Oluwafemi's,to give credit to Femi he has fast hands so Ruiz has an excuse for getting dropped
Luis Evans
Archie Moore was a very good win, arguably his single best win. Alvin Williams, Tom McNeely when he fought him, and Hurricane Jackson are all good wins.
Don't think you are understanding what is meant by technique. It has to do with how technical the fighter is, not how good their boxing fundamentals are. Vlad would be an example of a very technical boxer. I would agree with BLTV that AJ is a technical fighter more so than Fury.

Adam Gomez
>still achieved more than luis ortiz did with 33 In fairness to Ortiz, he was 3rd or 4th best amateur heavyweight in his country against guys like Teofilo Stevenson and Odlanier Solis so its not like he had as much opportunity to represent. I have to agree with Whyte as much as I don't like him, but he's said before that Joyce only stayed in the amateurs that long because he had to wait for the better amateur fighters(joshua and whyte) to go pro.
Liam Phillips
Kovalev said that Arum told him that GB lost interest in the fight against him, and that Canelo won't fight Golovkin
AJ is at the crucial moment of his career. Either he comes back in a big way and avenges his losses like Ali, Lewis, Holyfield, etc. or he gets stuffed again and fades into obscurity

Holy shit, Brant vs. Murata rematch is this Friday. Can't wait to read Japanese comments on the fight if Murata loses again.
Gabriel Martin
The dirty little secret nobody wants to admit right now is that middleweight as a division kind of fucking sucks. Murata got exposed by Brant who got exposed by brahmer and both of them are considered top 10 fighters. Outside of Canelo and GGG the division is just barren, there just aren't that many top level fights that can be made because there aren't any top level fighters outside those two.
Carson Sanders
boxhogs are fine or you could get the HVC2s if you really want to save money
for gloves size I'd get 12/14oz gloves. 14 if you aren't a dick and want to protect your sparring partner.

I wonder who's going to run 160 a year or so down the line.
Jacobs is moving up. GGG is retiring. Canelo is ?
Josiah Stewart
The lion king. Andrade is going to get exposed soon
Blake Clark
every division is shit by those standards mw still has Jacobs, Andrade, Charlo, Lememe, Derevy
Jonathan Thomas
Hw, lhw, jmw, welter, lw, and junior lw are all healthier with interesting fights and hot up and coming prospects. Mw doesn't have that
Blake Ward
Both Jacobs and Lememe is at 168. Wonder when Lememe will make his debut.
Angel Sanders
Yeah middleweight suffers from the fact that everyone was waiting for a canelo shot while he messed around with caneloweight fights and the division suffered. 168 is going to be shit if canelo decides to fully move there and 175 possibly as well since bivol has said he's willing to move down to 168 to fight canelo.
Unironically that will probably breathe a little more life into 160 since the division won't revolve entirely around him.
Nathaniel Scott
I disagree with all bar HW and WW who is a highly rated up and comer from LHW, JMW, LW or SFW aside from Teofimo and still I don't think his addition makes lightweight deeper than middleweight all it has is Loma and Campbell, Linares moved up, Mikey moved up and I don't really rate Commey
Bentley Miller
And the biggest prospect of them all. Nikita "White Chocolate" Ababiy.
>154 Its probably the healthiest division in the sport. The top 10 is full of guys who are all at the same level. And they all have losses to each other. Jroc, jermell, tony Harrison, Jarrett Hurd , lara, castano, Erickson lubin.
It makes for an interesting clash of styles.
Meanwhile hw has the 2 guys on top waiting over a year to rematch, Ruiz knocking down Joshua a notch and really no one else aside from an old Ortiz who poses a threat to the top dogs.
Eli Thompson
>who is a highly rated up and comer from LHW Buatsi >JMW Madrimov, bohachuk >LW Devin Haney >or SFW Tbh I like sfw more for the champs than prospects, lots of fun unifications to be made, and all the relevant champs are under 30
How would I watch classic fights? Is there an archive somewhere or are they uploaded on to youtube? seems like a shame that sports seem resistant to providing access to older events.
>HBO uploads fights to an official channel I didn't think it'd be that easy. I thought it would be like private trackers with racing, thanks.
Chase Stewart
You say Canelo and GGG are good as if they can't literally get spanked by Andrade, Derevyanchenko, and Charlo -- Especially Canelo, who is known for his close decisions against that caliber of fighter. Why has everyone suddenly forgot about Canelo-Lara? Canelo-Trout? Shows you that so long as you get the W, history will very quickly forget any nuance of that W.
Kayden James
Many of the classic fights are on Youtube. For the ones you can't get on Youtube go to tc-boxing.com a private tracker. It's also a good place to go for fairly quick uploads of fights that have happened recently.

AJ, Ruiz, Wilder, Fury are all competitive right now despite how much AJ is meme bullied here. Up and comers for the division are Usyk, Joyce, Hrgovic, and Kownacki with the potentials to do interesting things. Hell we might even see an upset from Ortiz or Whyte might actually step up his game and take things seriously. Division is pretty stacked right now.

>AJ is competitive >slow joyce >no mention of miller YDKSAB

Go to sleep, Jarrell.

Boxing really took a hit this weekend. That ufc 239 card really exposed how antiquated boxing has become. There was such a sense of excitement and 'cool' factor for that card. I even watched some highlights and didn't hate it. Compare to to boxing with all these weird sanctioning organizations making up a new belt every day and insulting our intelligence. No fights ever getting made, and fans getting conned out in the open about things 'marinading' longer just so they can cash out. Either no fights at all or a bunch of mismatches. The best known guy in the sport is fighting in a few weeks but he's 40 and even if he wins, he's not fighting much longer. Boxing is really starting to feel like an old boomer sport and this is coming from someone who's always preferred boxing. Its just not that cool right now. It feels stale and so overtly corrupt its hard to defend it.
Yeah I really enjoyed the hugfest that was the first fight of the card. Or the offensively boring main event where Jon Jones, your sports P4P best and alleged GOAT, had to rob his opponent who beat him despite fighting as a one-legged cripple.
Suuuure does make me want to watch more UFC. Also nice illustration of yourself, fag.

Meanwhile, they're talking about the fights they want actually happening while box circle jerks and buys time by talking about fights they wish would happen but never do and forced to talk about the same "boxing history" topics everyday to pass the time.
Oh and when they're not rehashing that same old shit and same Ali webms, they play promoter to try and excuse why fights don't happen. You're a good obedient little bitch.
Lincoln Sullivan
>Usyk Joyce hrgovic Kownacki Not even going to talk about Joyce but come on Usyk hasn't even had single he fight and hrgovic is still on the come up and probably won't enter title contention for another year at least. I'm not men bullying joshua either. If he can't get last Ruiz then he was never competitive with wilder and fury and thats just a fact.
Hw is a clear example of the top 10 divided by clear levels in ability. Whyte is trash and shouldn't even be in the top 10.
Joshua Myers
>they're talking about fights while box isn't Take a look at the schedule retard. This happens every year, there's always dead spot in summer for boxing but every year retards take it out proportion and act as if the entire year is shit when this happens every year.
Wyatt Cox
>there's always a dead spot Yeah cuz it's a retarded boomer corrupt sport that makes arbitrary decisions like this while other organizations still put on events. Wow imagine that, you can actually put on fights in the summer.
Outside of your artificially induced dead summer, the schedule isn't great. There's some ok fights here and there but all the big fights just don't get made. Just 90% mismatches with the occasional bone thrown in to shut you up
There hasn't been a big mma fight since mcgregor khabib.
Dylan Rivera
Lets hope he gets folded away like a shitty old camping chair.
Carter Wood
can't wait until we get an actual fight so I have to stop reading mmfaggot posting all day
Jose Nguyen
Those fags are here every time there's a big fight

>IBF Could Strip Canelo; Order Golovkin-Derevyanchenko For Title
I like the IBF but sometimes they really like to screw things up. I wouldn't mind GGG-Derevyanchenko but if Canelo fights GGG again don't fucking strip Canelo. Second time around the IBF bitches about the Derevyanchenko despite him hasn't done anything relevant.
James Adams
>Tony Yoka vs. Alexander Dimitrenko why does Dimitrenko keep getting passed around by the promoters
Sebastian Peterson
No its based. The IBF will actually enforce their rules even if people don't want them to. Canelo can't hold onto those belts while simultaneously jumping up to fight kovalev at a catchweight.
Kayden Bailey
If Canelo fights GGG it's retarded
Camden Wilson
>Brant who got exposed by brahmer Division he didn't belong in
>WHAT HEART FROM SCOTLAND’S BRAVE RICKY BURNS, BUT THERE’S ONLY SO MUCH YOU CAN YOU DO AGAINST A CLARSEY OPERATOR LIKE WHORE GAY LINARES (who’s been cut and stopped multiple times)
Jeremiah Rogers
Linares needs to move to London where he can dominate all of the brit bums
Grayson Miller
He's pursuing a career he's most likely going to fail or be mediocre in.
We're pretty similar
Bentley Sanchez
Just checked his record, his 2 opponents have 128 losses between them and only 10 wins lmao
Alexander Jenkins
for sure most fighters fight monsters in their first two fights.
Owen Harris
>it's an user is daydreaming about his post fight winning interview episode
>Hrgovic 1 year away from title contention >If he can't get past Ruiz then he was never competitive with wilder and fury and that's just a fact You could use your logic for Filip who couldn't even hurt Sean Turner for 8 rounds while Gorman banged him out in 3. Styles make fights
You're right but the reason he lost wasn't because he got outmuscled in clinches or couldn't handle the power, the 40 year old german was simply a much better boxer. And the fight with murata also showed Brant doesn't really care about defense against Murata who isnt exactly a middleweight linares with his punch variety. Brant has a really good work rate but hes so basic, not too mention his technique itself leaves a lot to be desired
They have events all the time that are well promoted, with more competitive fights and with more enthusiasm. Boxing needs to get its shit together.

Sad that you think Im a heemtard. I've been on box probably longer than you, but this past weekend really highlighted the difference for me. You can't even criticize boxing without being accused of being an 'mmafaggot'.. baka. Boxing fans have been abused so long they've come to love their abuser. I'm just the messenger.
Isaiah Hughes
>Top 10 all time
Dumbass he never won any of his biggest fights. He's probably the most talented, but that means little when you are talking about greatness. Holyfield and Lewis are far more accomplished than Tyson.
>INB4 "but Tyson in his prime" >INB4 muh headbutts
Ethan Phillips
General view is Tyson is a vicious KO artist but declined heavily after prison where he was wrongfully convicted by the actions of the eternal roastie
>its an user dreams he becomes a great boxer than impregnates Chavez's daughter and raises a son to be even greater
Brody Hughes
>beat my rival by rematch in an SD Lmao even in your daydream you're a bum
Ryder Taylor
Bowe was really hittable. That's not a good thing for a HW to be. Just about everyone at the weight is capable of knocking anyone out.
It's why I think Lewis would have beaten him.
Jose Ward
Shut up boomer
Owen Kelly
>that paper roll and lotion on the table
Isaac Rogers
Wilder/Breazeale
Blake Long
Early Lewis gets knocked out Steward era Lewis stops Bowe late
Andrew Jenkins
Lewis Golota is probably my favourite broadcast Bowe KOd Holyfield in the 3rd fight and then got the piss beaten out of him by Golota Lewis got upset by McCall and had been in a close fight with Mercer, a non fight with McCall and a hugging match with Akinwande the HBO team say Golota has the better jab, the best since Larry Holmes and proceeds to get demolished in a minute
Dylan Taylor
Do you think making your picks post ejaculation improves you predictions?
Juan Myers
AND THE NEW
Lucas Parker
Everyone is sleeping on Parker. He's on the same tier as Ruiz and better than Whyte. Whyte got a gift in their fight and only won because of the headbutt. I say this as a Whyte fan that thinks he deserves another belt shot. He's also the youngest of the bunch and will continue to improve. I'll be surprised I'd he's not a 2 time champion at some point.
