I mean, who do you actually put above him? Vinatieri has the career. Gostkowski has a mix of career and accuracy, but Tucker is the most accurate and if he stays the course he will wind up being better than both of those guys.

>muh dirty hit
It was Flacco's fault, he slid way too late and kept his head up the whole way. We've been over this before.

>lay a dirty hit on Flacco
you keep insisting on this when the footage shows that Flacco very obviously slid too late. He went for extra yards and Alonso went for the tackle as he should. The only reason it could be called a late hit was because Alonso was committed to his tackle and the hit came as Flacco was sliding BECAUSE Flacco slid late like a greedy dumbshit

But you'll keep insisting that it's Alonso's fault because you're willing to close your eyes to the reality that's readily available in slow motion.

By rthe rules the QB is ruled down the instant he begins his slide. Don't be obtuse now, it's very clear that Alonso hit him long after he began his slide. Beside Alonso has a history of being a dirty player so I'm not giving him the benefit of doubt.

The NFL fined Kiko for the hit so it was obviously a dirty play

yeah lol no one gives enough of a shit about ratbirds or their kicker to tell the difference

So it was clean, just like Kiko's hit was clean?

Yeah, being an informed poster is overrated right?

Attached: 1560775115655.png (650x52, 12K)

He had no time to stop the tackle, because Flacco slid too late. It's the bullshit that some QBs do, where they wait until it's too late so that either the defender doesn't close (letting the QB pick up more yards) or commits the foul.
Also, he should have kept his head down.

What's to be done about it though? QBs are going to fight for those extra yards, especially when the game's on the line, and it's true that there's little a defender can do to stop their form mid tackle. RGIII was notorious for trying to draw a foul on the defender for a late hit by pretending to run out of bounds and then going for a few more yards, late slides are pretty similar but equally as dangerous for the quarterback. Where is the middle ground here to protect the QB but also let the defense play?

>NFL discipline is infallible
The absolute state of (You)

the hit was done improperly and he definitely got at Flacco's helmet in a way he shouldn't have. The fine is arguably for the outcome, not the intent. The fact that Alonso hit Flacco the way he did was a result of Flacco's late slide, not because Alonso intended to hit Flacco late.

>What's to be done about it though?
Did not throw a flag when the QB slides too late? It's pretty simple.

reddit bag with the reddit tier post

...

>especially when the game's on the line
that game wasn't on the line. the result was BAL 40 MIA 0. Flacco already had the first down and they weren't even remotely in a risky position. That late slide was 100% on Flacco overextending without needing to.

He cant be too terrible if Vegas is afraid of losing millions because of him

Cry more because you got exposed as a meme tier retard

Flacco did slide late, but it's undeniable that Alonso had plenty of time to avoid wrecking Flacco. He just chose not to. I get your point and all since I fucking hate QBs abusing the rules for extra yardage, but Alonso did not need to hit Flacco and if you watch the play again he had plenty of time. You can claim it's not intentional, and maybe it really wasn't, but he did nothing to soften the hit after he saw him sliding.

but I didnt???????? I btfo you so bad

im contacting the authorities because you are using an unsolicited image of me you will be under arrest

He's gotten kinda slow and become more "serviceable" than "good". He still deserves a spot on a team for how good he is at finding his way through messy lines, but I can also see why teams aren't jumping at him.

Wilkerson and Morgan are the only two that are any good and one has off the field issues and the other is old.

Looks like...yep, nobody buys that. Sheltered skinny whiteboy bitch says "nigger" on his chinese basketweaving forum and insists he's not a racist even though literally zero people would be okay with him saying nigger in any context in real life.

You are a racist.

Nope

Do you wanna actually talk about the Cardinals or...?

I honestly don't even get why Vegas would adjust the odds even if everyone were betting like crazy on him. Yes, on the rare chance he wins, they would get buttfucked hard and maybe they're just playing it really safe so they don't get ruined by an insanely rare outcome, but it still seems kinda dumb if tons of people are taking action on him to limit it like that.

Trubisky is fucking terrible. Just watching his pro bowl appearances and seeing his accuracy in a vacuum of easy fucking throws is enough for me to count him out as ever being a relevant quarterback, let alone all the other issues he has. The Bears making it anywhere this coming year will be due to the monsters on defense getting the ball back a lot. I do think the Bears win the division. But fuck, if they even get chosen for MVP, a guy like Hicks would deserve MVP more than Trubisky.

I just don't see how he ever wins the MVP. He really is bad. Like bottom 16 QB bad.

>the MVP is about narratives, not true talent
That's why I keep mentioning it in my post, if the case can be made for Trubisky winning MVP that's a good sign along with the others that I listed that the Bears are Owl bound.

Trubisky is still developing and Vegas knows that. He wasnt Carson Wentz or Deshaun Watson coming out of college, he didnt even play a full season. He developed from year one to two and they're expecting him to develop from two to three and run Nagys system efficiently.

fuck off reddit bay

They still need to overhaul awards and their names. If JJ Watt couldn't win MVP in 2014, no non qb can. QBs should get something like "the Otto Graham award" as de facto MVP, leaving everyone else to go for the MVP (if they'd want to change that name for the sake of the qbs' feelings, it could be the "Jim Thorpe award"). The Lombardi should honestly switch names with the NFC's Halas trophy, since Halas did found the league and win seven championships. COTY could be the Paul Brown award, and so on.

This. Best kicker award should be the Justin Tucker award and the Butkus award should be replaced with the Lewis award.

>if the case can be made for Trubisky winning MVP that's a good sign along with the others that I listed that the Bears are Owl bound.
But again, those odds were terrible until so many people bet on them that Vegas switched the odds just to protect their own ass. Not because they actually think Trubisky has better odds. Second, let's actually look at how many MVP winners played in the Super Bowl since the merger.

28/55(51%) MVPs played in the Super Bowl. There's no real correlation between MVP and being in the owl.

I didnt say trubisky is going to win MVP. I specifically put mvp caliber because Vegas obviously believes the case can be made for him winning it and used the change in the odds to back it up.

>I didnt say trubisky is going to win MVP.
No. You argued that because he was apparently considered a more likely candidate to win MVP, that that correlates with being Super Bowl bound. I just illustrated why there's no real correlation between MVP and being in the super bowl. Winning MVP means making the playoffs and generally being a first round bye. That's true in virtually every single MVP case. But half of them don't make the owl. And Trubisky is not even that highly placed on the MVP list even with the change made to the odds.

So it essentially means nothing.

>Vegas obviously believes the case can be made for him winning it
You've been corrected on this a whole bunch of times and yet you keep saying it. There's a difference between believing there's a serious chance, and mathematically covering your own ass in what is essentially a popularity contest. MVP isn't even dictated directly by results, but by opinions. So if a bunch of people suddenly start having their opinions swayed early on, a switch in odds wouldn't indicate more faith in a player, but just a shift in opinion.

You are an idiot

Packers

Because of garbage time yards and rule changes. 4000 yards used to be an accomplishment, 5000 yards now is not.

Because his team didn't make the playoffs and yardage is only an important stat relative to TDs really. Roethlisberger also threw the ball more than anyone else in the league, so that doesn't mean that much really.

Injuries that's what

>reddit bay

I argued that the Bears are Owl bound due to having the best roster, defense, and coach as well as having a QB with decent odds to win MVP. And that's what I keep saying, decent odds.

I keep getting told that they're just doing it to cover their own ass but is going from 200 to 1 to 50 to 1 considered a common in terms of line movement? Can I expect another QBs odds to change that drastically before the season starts? That's the line in the post that gets the most reactions but if it was impossible then nobody would bet it and the line wouldn't move. Also wasnt Mahomes' odds originally placed at 200 to 1 and then moved to 50 to 1 before the season started? That's not a rhetorical question I'm actually asking that because I vaguely remember.

They have a great defense and that's it. Your other two opinions on the team are suspect and biased. The Bears probably do win the division, but even that isn't certain. Their schedule is harder this year where last year they had the most cake schedule in the league. And even with that cake schedule, they didn't do very well, and they pooped out in the playoffs right off the bat. Trubisky at the helm is precisely what makes me think they are not making the Super Bowl. He does not have SB level talent, and very few shitty QBs in the modern era have managed to make the super bowl, let alone win it. I predict the Bears finish somewhere between 8-8 and 10-6. They probably win the division with that because the NFC North is a dumpster fire. I predict they lose in the Wild Card again, or at best make a divisional exit. They are not making it to the NFCCG or Super Bowl.

>I keep getting told that they're just doing it to cover their own ass but is going from 200 to 1 to 50 to 1 considered a common in terms of line movement?
That's not as drastic as it sounds. It means a lot in terms of covering a longshot bet, but it still doesn't mean something is likely. Let's put it this way: The Bears themselves have a decent shot of being a good team this year, and the MVP is generally just given to the Quarterback of a good team regardless of how questionably shit they are. So it isn't by virtue of Trubisky that he would actually receive the honors, but his team. In that sense, 200 to 1 may have been undervaluing the odds. But in a vacuum? It's not. Trubisky really is that bad.

>Can I expect another QBs odds to change that drastically before the season starts?
If everyone starts betting on some shit QB with long odds that is on an otherwise good team? Sure. That's why it happened with Trubisky.

>Mahomes
Was an unknown. Trubisky is not.

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of betting. Betting a lot on Trubisky is not evidence that he is actually a frontrunner or that the Bears offense will actually be great and they're owl bound. It's evidence that Vegas just undervalued his odds, which made the bet worth taking due to its incredibly low risk. That's all it really means. Now that the numbers shifted, the action has disappeared.

>bears fans are retarded

More at 11

Who said he was a front runner? I said he has decent odds, which at the moment he currently does.

No, he doesn't. You're not going to get it even if I explain it. Let me try to put it in very real terms real quick.

If I said "Hey, I bet you Trubisky doesn't win MVP this year. If I win, I get 5 dollars from you. If you win, I'll pay you a thousand dollars." Would you take that bet? The answer should be yes. Now imagine upping that number to betting 100 dollars on Mitch Trubisky to win MVP, and in the even t it does happen, you win twenty thousand fucking dollars for a 100 dollar bet.

That is why people went crazy betting on it. Because that risk is worth it.

Now, professional bettors have been given odds of 50 to 1...which means betting just 5 dollars will net them 250 dollars back if they win. And...they aren't taking it. Most aren't coming anywhere near to touching it. Does scenario give you confidence that Trubisky has "decent odds" for the MVP?

That's the best I can illustrate it to you. Bettors took the Trubisky bet because the return is absolutely insane and the Bears have better than 1 in 200 odds of being a surprisingly good team this year, which automatically raises Trubisky's odds. You're reading bear excellence from these odds and you shouldn't be. It's more accurate to say that Vegas made a mistake by writing off Trubisky as utter dogshit(which he is), but overlooked the possibility of his team carrying him to MVP relevance being better than a fucking miracle. Not much better, but better.

That's the last post I'm making on this. If you don't get it after this, I don't know any other way to explain it.

Might put 100 on daniel jones to win ROY or MVP. A longshot is a longshot but his odds are better than the books

He won't even play this year

thats sad, he is going to blow their window because he has yet to learn the intricacy required to be successful against quality defenses. At this career trajectory, he should hope chicago never grows sick of him, or he can be a journeyman and have a kurt warner type career revival.

changing MVP award: sure
changing Lombardi: no

>16 to 32 teams
>each of them have a chance to contain MVP and/or make it to superbowl
>two get picked for SB, one gets picked for MVP
>roughly half picked for the latter has gotten picked for the former
your conditional probability is very bad

they could have changed to odds to stir people into betting more, not because they truly believe it will happen

odd because packers, falcons, and giants (vikings, steelers kinda) all have quality run games, they just had predictable offenses
at least packers and vikings are committing to the run more, IDK about falcons, but steelers and giants might not be

bears friends are hopefully learning a lot about football this offseason and next season

So what will the excuse be from the vikangz fans when the kangz miss the playoffs going 5-11? They drafted an OLine, so it can’t be that. They have receivers and TEs, so it’s not that. And they have the exact same defense from 2017 and 2018, so it’s not that. My guess is their special teams.

Vikangz that way you get to see your first relocation

eagles, seahawks, patriots, packers, saints, chiefs, colts will all have magic moments on offense and probably good defenses
avoid vikings, jets, cowboys, chargers, titans, texans, bengals, buccs, redskins, lions -- they always choke
rams, bears, jags, browns, ravens, dolphins, falcons, cardinals, giants, 49ers, bills, broncos, raiders are all meme teams or have glaring flaws, milage may vary

>essentially have 1/4 odds to make the superbowl by pure chance alone if no other factors were involved.
Also, SB MVPs weren't counted and don't count. Those vegas odds are for regular season MVP alone. Your own conditional probability is the one that is shit. If we take homefield advantage/seed into account, MVPs don't have much if any affect on whether a team makes the Super Bowl or not.

Allah is mad.

>Literally no one believes this.

Except they're not 1/8 teams, because only 1 MVP is awarded. There's not one in the AFC and one in the NFC, so counting all 8 is wrong. The conference which doesn't receive the MVP has no involvement in whether the other conference's MVP makes the super bowl. You are retarded.

It is a raw 1/4 chance when absolutely no other factors are taken into account whether the MVP reaches the Super Bowl or not. When we factor in the advantages they receive from their often superior seeding positions(facing weaker seeds/home field advantage), the correlation between receiving an MVP and making the super bowl disappears. It's no different than how often the #1 and #2 seeds reach the super bowl, which is very, very often.

Your own probability is the one that sucks, retard.

Just posting for posterity so I can see how I did after the season concludes, but mostly want to start some conversations on here since discussion has been lacking so badly lately, so criticize away and make your corrections/reasons why. Win total doesn't cleanly add up because many games are 50/50 in my mind.

Going through this, the AFC South is the most interesting division to me this season, because even though I think every team in the division is solid, all of them have absolutely brutal schedules so they're going to all be beaten down to .500 type numbers. I think anyone can take it, but looking at the games I think the Titans are actually best positioned to come away with the division even though I don't think they're the best team in the division.

The two big unknowns for me this season are the Browns and Packers. They're the only two teams I'm not confident enough to give a narrow window on because either team could wind up really terrible or really good.

I feel like the Rams regress just a touch more than you, so I envision their record being 11-5, still more than enough to win the NFCW.

I think the Packers are an above 500 team, but I can see them losing the PO race to a team like Seattle or Philly.

This is actually a really good explanation about the fundamentals of sports betting. But would I still be wrong if I mention that in a very literal sense Trubiskys odds are currently at 50 to 1

>Bills ceiling 8-8
more like floor

Dubs or not it's happening to the Texans.

oh ok, makes more sense now, you weren't very clear, but I see my mistake
if we test whether the probability is 1/4th (division round team chosen for MVP makes superbowl), we have strong evidence it isn't the case
if you assume the MVP will play in a conference championship then we haven't seen a relation in SB appearances

bills have a higher ceiling, they have a stout defense and I could see the offense being OK for a winning record in the AFCE
dolphins have a higher floor and ceiling. They won 7 games last year mostly from a decent defense, and Fitz alone is worth 3 or 4 wins in a season. If Rosen outplays him, that number would go up
I could see the colts winning 11 or (unlikely) 12 games depending if everything goes their way
I think the broncos will be better than you give them credit for. fangio is a great defense guy, and flacco can win 7/8 games
redskins could win 8 games, and giants could win 7. itd be unlikely, but not too shocking
NFCN looks spot on
falcons could win 11, they still have weapons all over on offense and a quality defensive roster
buccs have an 8 or 9 game ceiling IMO, their offense has tools, and their DL has some pieces
I could see the seahawks winning 11 games and 49ers winning 10
basically I just like higher ceilings for many teams because I think the margins between them are thin and the league is very unpredictable

I think the NFCN could have the Packers and Vikings switched, but it really depends on how much of an impact the offseason makes for both teams and whether LaFleur's new strategies are really the difference maker for the packers

No. You thought you’d try and look good by giving me some irrelevant shit about the most wins in the AL in every season but this one. I’ll answer my own question, since you’ll just refuse to. The current Baltimore Orioles record is 27-62. They did not win a single World Series from 2012-2018 despite having the most wins in the AL, either. It seems the only division title they got was in 2014 as well in that timeframe.

If the AFCCG is called down the middle, the Jaguars would have went up 27-3 at the time Myles Jack returns that fumble back for a touchdown. In all seriousness, I considered that possibility, but I really don't think they regress that hard. I can't see them doing worse than 9-7, even with Drew Brees' regression. You just have too much overall talent even if Brees turned out to be totally average this season and really has begun to hit the wall, the Saints will still finish with a winning record.

>suspended for refusing to comply with a rigged internal investigation that wanted to seize personal information and use it to blackmail him into conceding guilt for a scheme that never occurred

Fixed that for you amigo

>actually talking to Old Gay about Tom Brady
Why bother? He knows Brady didn't cheat. He insists on it because he's a Ravens dicksucker and he absolutely needs some excuse to invalidate Brady or he can't even pretend his team is relevant.

>scheme never occured
>dozens of texts between equipment managers referring to one of them as "the deflator" mention Tom's specific instructions to have balls deflated

2013 Seahawks is correct rest of the last looks like shit

>mention Tom's specific instructions to have balls deflated
No, they don't. I've read all of the texts. Not one of them has Brady order balls deflated, nor do any of the equipment managers mention receiving any kind of instructions from Brady to deflate anything.

It makes sense that people would deliberately take the texts out of context, but all they are is the equipment managers bitching about doing their job and talking shit behind Brady's back about how they're going to fuck up the footballs to get back at him by OVERinflating or underinflating them.

Catch my ass

Do you actually think that isn't a catch lol

Is there any real competition?

The red pill is knowing the Ryan Fitzpatrick has already bet $1 million on himself to make the playoffs, as Miami has the longest odds in the league and he only wants to make money.
Take the fitzpill, it’s free cash

Playing a fantasy draft Madden 96 franchise. Finished my my first year and I’m gonna relocate my Michael Vick led Texans after winning the Super Bowl with them. Where should I move them? Mexico City, Manhattan, or San Juan (Puerto Rico)?

Fuck Madden 06, not 96 kek

Manhattan Bro...

Broncos haven't finished worse than 4-12 since 1973 which was a shortened season where they finished 2-7

They've only finished worse than the equivalent of 4-12 two times before than

>Slow motion is indicative of a defenders ability to stop

Can someone redpill me on the Browns? I live in NE Ohio and every maniac Browns fan I know has been overjoyed with excitement going fucking nuts. I don't follow this sport so I'm genuinely curious as to how "good" we're supposed to be.

Jones should be a day-1 starter.

The past 20ish years they've been absolutely abysmal. Dumpster fire train wreck. But last year they drafted Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb who have been electric to say the least. I'm from the Akron area and I'm more excited about them this year than I was to lose my virginity honestly. They've been a 1-4 win team for so long and they finally look, on paper, to be primed to win 8, maybe more games. Which some people are equating to playoffs and a superbowl win. I'm optimistic but not delusional. I personally think they'll be a threat of a team no one can sleep on anymore, but they have a chance to actually do well

you cant mention Baker and Chubb and not mention OBJ, Garrett, Landry, Ward, and all other top talent theyve added in the past few years

> if they did this thing they didn't do, they'd certainly also do this other thing they didn't do

>2017 Jags would have destroyed the Eagles in the Super Bowl
I seriously doubt it

I think they have a very real chance of winning the division tbqh

No, they are about to get stuck in the "too good to tank, not good enough to get anywhere" phase.

Don’t waste your breath, alt-right rams incels will never understand

the offence got better at RB and WR but their TE and O-line is arse and so is most of the defence. The schedule is fucked too iirc. Solid 5-11 season in the works

What a shit list. Holy fuck

>Better at RB
You have to actually sign your 1st round RB to get better.

I could see Gruden putting Jacobs in the dog house this season just for pulling this one on the team.

I beg your pardon?

Realistically, how long would a lady kicker last in the league?

Attached: C9C21512-C5CD-47B7-B650-D2F9D98AAD73.jpg (532x800, 72K)

If Rapinoe converted to kicking footballs, she would be the second best kicker all time behind only Gostkowski. Better than either Anderson, better than Tucker, and especially better than that filthy “haha I like Indiana and flyover better because I’m a dumbass Christian repulivxan redneck” traitor Vinatieri

I now see why you’re considered the most cancerous tripfag.

I agree, Old Bay is trash.

Is this really what bradys knee looks like? Fucking top kek

are you mentally unable to make posts that does not have random politics spliced in it, or are you just that upset?

Reverse image search shows its some shitty 9gag meme. Old Bay is a 9gagger. Embarrassing.

I do it to trigger inbreds like yourself.

you need to go outside and find someone who will have sex with you.

Not very. The first broken blocking assignment on a chip shot and one tackled kicker later, they’d ban women from the league in the wake of the death.

Until the first botchced play where she ends up hit or covered.

Jacobs is holding out because he knew he’s a bust in the making.
A recent history of Alabama running backs (1st or 2nd round):
2012 - Trent Richardson - bust
2013 - Eddie Lacy - bust
2015 - TJ Yeldon - career backup
2016 - Derrick Henry - looked like a bust until last season. Jury’s out. We will see if that was a fluke.
The Alabama running back meme hasn’t worked out since Mark Ingram was taken nearly a decade ago.

>you now remember Eagles legend Patrick Chung

Who from the who?

Black goddesses love my dick. I can barely walk outside without getting some.

Does she handle kickoffs? Willl she be responsible for blocking or taclking the return man?

The moment she kicks, she has to run off the field and be replaced by a man

Let the punter handle kickoffs. I know VinaTRAITOR has his punter handle them since he’s a frail weakling. Let the kicker focus on her accuracy for field goals. That’s why I think Rapinoe would be amazing, she has insane accuracy and form. I bet her feet would feel really good to suck on, too.

I really wanna suck his dick and swallow every last drop .

this 2010 meme still exists?

I was quoting Bradysknee verbatim. Looks like he deleted his comment because he made a mistake.

He was implying Trump was a pedophile by association with Epstein. But I said Trump banned him—he hated Epstein. He followed with that quote that the president of Mar-a-Lago didn’t comment on Trump banning Epstein as if that’s indicative of Trump’s guilt despite in his own quote mentioning court documents referring to the banning of Wpstein from Trump properties

TL;DR Bradyknee is genuinely dumb

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened last year had Rivera taken over defensive playcalling after the Pittsburgh game like he should have.

Did we really have to lose seven straight games? Is this franchise cursed to never have back-to-back winning seasons? Or was it all necessary to heighten the need to better protect Cam and make the defense younger?

Attached: 1512180378839.jpg (599x423, 30K)

The Steelers could literally pick fry cook out of Primanti's to play on their roster and he'd go for at least 400 yards and three touchdowns each season. Their offense is automatic.

I thought Ben was washed and Tomlin was a bad coach (because black)

10-6, could pip the Browns for the division, probably wild card

Ben throws multiple 400+ yard games a year...he's getting older and slower, but he still has plenty of game left in him. Tomlin being black has 0% relevancy to anyone who isn't a drooling brainlet that comes to four channel to plead anonymously for attention.

If Roethlisbergers and Eli switched O-Lines over the past several years, Eli would still be a top quarterback and Roethlisberger would probably be dead. Same with Brees.

Why have people fallen so hard for the Philip Lindsay meme when the Broncos' system has produced literally dozens upon dozens of one year wonders at running back?

The Broncos' run-blocking scheme is so foolproof that it actually kept Terrell Davis out of the Hall of Fame because the Broncos' rushing attack was so good after he retired that people started questioning whether or not he was as good as he seemed.
