What's the best poker room in Vegas?

Personally I prefer the Bellagio, It has the softest action for 2/5 and 5/10.

Aria and Venetian are close seconds for best action.

I find Wynn to be pretty competitive, the 2/5 tables are a typically more tight aggressive and a bit tougher to win at. Good place for competition but I break even at best.

I've never actually played poker in a casino before and I'm kind of nervous to try. What do I need to know before I go? I know how to play poker, but have never actually played in Vegas.

I spend most of my gaming time in Vegas being a video poker degen. Baccarat is the only table game I've spent serious time playing there, and a big part of the reason I play it is because the Asian players are so goddamned funny to watch.

I wouldn't recommend playing in a casino if it's your first time or are generally inexeperienced. You will very likely lose. Or worse, win through luck, then feel more skilled than you are, which results in more losing.

If you want to get started learning, personally the best thing is just go through youtube videos and listen to advice for beginners from a variety of different sources. Try reading a poker book written in the last 5 years to get an idea of modern strategy.

If you want to skip books and stuff, just start playing Pokerstars at the lowest stakes ( $.01/$02 blinds). Play a lot and learn from your experiences. This works for a lot of people but not everyone. Just don't move up to higher levels until you can win consistently at the lowest buyins.

If you want to play poker to just have fun, then go ahead and play within your means.

If you have ambitious of playing profitably it will take a bit of practice and study.

people only get pissed if you're holding up the game. if you know the basic rules then you are fine.

its worth it for the adrenaline rush you get with a good hand. you wont be able to hide the rush but people will still give you action and old timers will get salty when you beat them

I've been playing on global poker, which is super soft. I ran $50 up to about $500 playing .25/.50 6-handed... but got wasted last weekend and lost it trying to hit and run a 5/10 table.
