I'm stuck as to what the Cubs should do. The Theo MO for this type of season is off load veterans who are near the end of their contracts for prospects, but Hamels is hurt, Heyward can't be dealt because of the no trade clause and Zobrist is MIA. Even then, considering how the Central is beating up each other, even with all these things going against the Cubs, they still have a shot at taking the division, so they wouldn't be able to go into sell mode even if they wanted to given the current standings unless they wanted to deal the massive fallout.
Also the fact that everyone is failing to do as well as they should be doing makes me think it's a club or training issue. Compare prospects the Cubs dealt like Jimenz and Martinez. Even Solar found his grove. To a lot of the top draft picks and prospects that stayed with the Cubs, (Schwarber, Almora, Happ) They aren't living up to their full potential. Makes you wonder how the others would do if they were still in the organization.
All we can do is hope the Cubs can hit the reset button at the start of the 2nd half. And at least Darvish is looking good
