for one, it's too soon to say if Cease will be any good. even Jimenez. And two, you got quintana for two reasons, one was to help you make the playoffs in 2017 after the team had a slow start, and he did that, and two was to provide an affordable starting pitcher for the years ahead when it was clear the cubs would need an affordable starting pitcher and he's done that. Aside from a down 2018 he's been what you'd expect. Maybe it wasn't the smartest trade in the first place but it was always known more or less what the Cubs were sacrificing and more or less what they were getting.

The reason you don't see bunting against the shift as often now is most teams look to have adjusted their alignment so the 3B isn't over extended towards 2B, and now they can just run in to do a quick toss to first, unless it's a perfect one down the line.
