I played for the KNVB U-14 and I got scouted for Fc Utrecht when I was 11 but that's it.

why did you stopped?

The football industry is a mean one. If you are not good enough you get kicked out. I guess that's how life in general works aswell.

I've been payed to play sports on occasion

Pro shitposter here

yep, my name's Leo, I play for a pro team in Spain (I won't say, don't ask) how's it going amigos?

You look familiar Leo...

A friend of mine was scouted by Mönchengladbach at the age of 10, but he injured himself while playing with friends. With a broken arm, he had to decline the offer. At 16, he stopped playing football as a whole because his team dissolved and he didn't want to go elsewhere. He's still a very good player, but what I admire most is that he doesn't regret anything at all. He has grown weary of the whole football industry. When I asked him whether he would have taken the offer if he could he answered "At that time, yes. But in retrospective, it was the right thing to do. They would have kicked me out later anyways and I would have ended up with nothing from it but wasted time"

A shame that some children are exploited and left in the dust when they're of no use for big clubs anymore.

so you won't show up?

Go to bed, Edmundo

sports teams are ruthless when it comes to youth; any underperfoming child will be casty away instead of properly coached.
you see it all the time, but its part of 21st century life

I often think about "biological age". Like 20% of pro players in football for example are born in January while almost no one is born in December. I mean, people born in January are almost a year older than people born in December, so they're potentially physically stronger etc and are more likely to get fielded because of that. As a result, slightly younger players that are a bit underdeveloped in the physical sense but can still catch up and have great potential get left behind.
Said friend of mine for example was pretty short, but a great technician and a very intelligent player. Considering his size, he was/is a great athlete in terms of endurance and speed, but when playing against guys that are 6'3 at 14 and have beards, it gets difficult in sports where physical contact is allowed.

>A shame that some children are exploited and left in the dust when they're of no use for big clubs anymore.
Well that's how it goes. I atleast enjoyed the time where I was playing professional football and I will never forget the things that I've experienced. It was a great run. You can't get everything in life sadly.

You're right, it's a nice thing to tell even though it didn't work out in the end. You certainly played against some big teams, right?

at least your friend is happy and not regretting what could've been.
sports, like life, are unfair sometimes. you not only have to be talented, but physically gifted, and willing to work.
and even then it might not work out; gotta admire those willing to live that sort of life.

I am a professional fucker of your mom

I only played 2 years "professional" football. As I said, I only got scouted by fc utrecht and i only got to play 1 week with them. However I did play 2 years for the KNVB and that meant that I had more trainings but at a more "professional" level.

Especially the KNVB part is cool. Do they have international matches at 14? What position did you play?

you can bet on it ;)

FUCK ARGENTINA
VIVA CATALONIA

based leo

We didn't have many international matches. However there was once a tournament in (I believe) Dusseldorf, but I don't remember I was just 12 at the time. Lot's of international teams from all over the world came. Even one from Japan. Think it was the JLeague. Which is I suppose the Dutch KNVB. I played as a left back or as a left midfielder. But most of the times I was a left back. I enjoyed defending more than attacking.

I was neighbors with von miller in college
