There is absolutely no reason why the USAWNT should get payed less than the men. The women are consistently doing everything right and being the best in the world whereas the men are shit. It is absolute sexism that the Women's team is seen as a failure if they don’t win the World Cup but the Men’s team can get knocked out by Trinidad and Tobago and still get payed more.

I unironically agree with this. And it has nothing to do with revenues as both teams are NOT private enterprises and are both not profitable to begin with. I think defending champs who will do it again should get paid the same as chumps who don't even qualify.
For just 1 tournament the women should be paid equally. The Olympics always bring eyeballs towards womens hockey and basketball but they dont carry over to their professional leagues the other 3.5 years. The best part of the Olympics to me has been the womens side especially with the NHL not going last time and maybe the next couple. So yes if they bring in insane viewership then they should be paid for their time.
