At first I thought it was a career ranking, and then I saw you included Mahomes and Luck, and now I realize it's just a shit list.

I'm unsure how to feel about Brees vs Rodgers as far as who takes the #2 spot of current active quarterbacks in a career sense. I would also lean towards giving it to Brees because, frankly, without him, the Saints would have been the Buccaneers basically and the Panthers and Falcons would have run that division for the last decade. He single handedly made the Saints relevant and he's a great overall passer. But Brees has a career littered with poor seasons and slumps. He's had long periods of time of being largely irrelevant.

Rodgers, on the other hand, plays for a blue blood franchise. He didn't bring the Packers out from irrelevance like Brees did. He was handed the reigns from one of the greats and given the top franchise in the division to work with. His record shows it as he has only had like 2 or 3 bad years. He's been injured more, but he's also been more dominant than Brees. Both of them are equal on big wins, and I'm not sure who's "more talented" as they both seem to be about the same quality to me.

I think the reason I'd hand #2 to Brees is just that he faced way more adversity than Rodgers ever did. The injury, needing to carry the whole Saints organization, and the biggest part of all for me is that the NFC South is incredibly competitive with the Falcons/Panthers/Saints all being really strong teams whereas Rodgers gets to play in a garbage dump with a bunch of joke teams every year. So Rodgers' better record means less to me.

In 2015 the oline and recievers were decimated. In the playoffs they won a road game, then took the number 2 seed Cardinals into overtime on the road with literal practice squad recievers. They lost the coin flip and Rodgers didn't touch the ball again.
2013 he missed half the season and they plopped him into a must win game in chicago week 17, after not practicing like 7 weeks. They won of course. 2017 he missed half the season, and the Packers got shut out at home twice, a franchise record. They plopped him into another must win in Carolina, after no practice for the 8 weeks, and they were in the redzone with a chance to win in the final minute before a receiver fumbled it away.
This year he had an fractured knee and recovering from a broken shoulder, with a HC that got fired midseason, an offense that was bottom 5 in rush attempts, and was still better than 20 starting QBs.
